Central SoMa private apartment for conventions, travel groups, or family vacations. Large & clean space on 2nd floor apartment with 1-car private garage parking. 5 beds: 3-queen and 2-twin beds. Free wifi internet and 1.5 blocks to Whole Foods.

The Space

Great location in heart of SoMa (6th and Clara). Less than 2-Blocks walking distance to Moscone Convention Center. This is the perfect convention goer's dream location in trendy area of San Francisco. Or have a company meeting with a wipe board and take a break with ping pong. 5-Blocks walking to Union Square shopping, easy access to all public transportation (BART, Muni, CalTrain), and half block away from Highway to get to airport (15 minutes).

PARKING is FREE and comfortably fits 1 car. Large 1200 sq ft home on second floor. First floor is garage space for parking. Building is a former warehouse converted into living space and made of industrial steel with an electric roll-up gate for entering any time. From the garage, head upstairs to a bright and open floor plan.

Games games games. Although we're walking distance to the best clubs and bars in SF, it's not for everyone. We have a ping pong table, 12-ft golf putting green, and DVDs to watch on the entertainment system. Aux input available to plug in your own music (ie. smartphone or iPod)

Dining table seats 6 comfortably and kitchen island has 2 more bar height chairs. (2 additional fold-up tables and chairs available in storage closet) Living room has a leather sectional sofa that seats 6. There are 5 total beds: three queens and two twin beds. Bedroom has a very large closet with hangars.

Fully functional kitchen with a gas stove, microwave, toaster and large refrigerator. Whole Foods is 7 minute walk away. Snack cabinet for guests. Big screen HD television with surround sound system, Blu-ray/DVD player. Also have a shelf full of DVDs for entertainment.

Guest Access

Lockbox code access so it's very easy to enter and leave. Free high speed wifi internet included. Just call or email me prior to arrival for lockbox code. Rent a car for your trip and don't worry about the parking here. Garage space can fit one car comfortably.

Flexible check-in available. You can store your belongings if you arrive early, and welcome to keep belongings in garage if you leave late. Prefer to checkout by 11am so I can clean space for next guest. Please let me know the approx check-in and check-out time.

Interaction with Guests

Private apartment for guests and I will NOT be present during guest stay. The whole apartment is yours to use. Guests can check-in/out anytime through the lockbox key. Available by cell phone for any questions or recommendations. Please treat my home like your own.

The Neighborhood

Central starting point for getting anywhere in the city, all within 15 minute WALKING distance – Financial District, SoMa, Civic Center, Moscone Center, Yerba Buena Gardens, SF Opera, Symphony, theatre, art and more are nearby. High tech companies such as Zynga, Square and (website hidden) are nearby too. Hop right on Muni (bus system) at the corner or 10 minute walk to BART (Powell Street subway station) or 15 minute walk to CalTrain (train). Or use Zipcar less than 1 minute walk around the corner. Easy Access to 101 and 280 (2 blocks away). Great food all around the area and within walking distance.

Getting around

10 minute walk to BART. 15 minute walk to CalTrain. Major bus stops extremely close by. Walk score of 92/100 Walker's Paradise.

Muni 8X bus ($2 for single ride fare on Muni is good for 90 minutes of travel) is located 1 block south (6th and Bryant) from the apartment and is a great bus to hop on and off. This route goes downtown to Moscone/Union Square/Powell Street to Chinatown to North Beach (Little Italy) and ends at Fisherman's Wharf. The 8X return route stops at 8th and Harrison, which is even closer.

Other Things to Note

No parties without my permission. Only the number of guests listed in your reservation is allow to enter apartment. Loud music must be turned off by 10pm to avoid bothering my neighbors. Any complaints will result in loss of security deposit. Thank you for respecting my neighbors and keeping the noise level down.

Clean towels and linens are provided. All towels and bedding are washed prior to every guest arrival. I like being extremely clean myself and treat my guests the same way.

Washer/dryer in garage downstairs. Heating is available, but no air conditioning (not needed in SF anyways since it never gets that hot).

Kitchen has microwave, toaster, gas stove, and large refrigerator. Basic cooking items are provided like pots, pans, dishes, cups, utensils, salt & pepper, oil, and sugar. Whole Foods is very close by for any additional needs. Target is 3 blocks away.

Music must be turned down by 10pm to avoid disturbing neighbors. If there is any complaint, then there will be a loss of security deposit.

  • Perfect for what our group needed. We only spent one night here as we were in the city for an event at a venue in the area and wanted a place our group could comfortably stay at rather than spending $300 on a tiny hotel room for the night. The process of getting the keys and parking was super easy and efficient. Major plus that this place has it's own parking spot people! The place was large, bright, and clean. We were also welcomed by a basket of Doritos that were greatly appreciated by the starving boys in our group.

We loved the Ping pong table (my first time!) and the mini golf setup. I asked for later checkout time and Abel graciously accommodated our request in addition to letting us to keep our things in the garage if we needed.

The location was so great that we were able to walk to and from the venue without needing an uber! I would recommend this place just make sure to review the rules and policies before you book!

  • Abel was so accommodating we even lost our keys and he helped us out late at night. Great location at the heart of SF

  • Abel was really kind and helpful. We really enjoyed (email hidden); Great location and great space.

  • Booking process and communication with host was excellent. Easy access via lockbox. Unit was clean with a couple minor exceptions. In hindsight, place probably wasn't the right choice for us; it looks like it's set up for a full time AirBnB rental - there are 3 beds in the living area and 2 in the "bedroom". Bath was ok but a little run down. We stayed one night and it was fine for us. Heating unit rattled when on and ceiling tiles rattled when windy.

  • Good place to sleep, the location is great to get to Pivotal Labs, Heroku or the Convention Center. Abel was quick to respond to any questions we had.

  • The loft was large and comfortable. The bathroom had a faint urine odor and could have been cleaner. The rest of the apt was clean however there was some trash on the nightstands in the back bedroom. We enjoyed the ping pong table a great deal. The garage was a great feature. The neighborhood was fine although we did see a man urinate on a building directly across the street. Conveniently located as we walked to dinner, Whole Foods, and Peet's Coffee. The lockbox was a little tricky to get back together after getting the keys out and when returning them.

    Response from Abel:

Thank you for the feedback. I will definitely relay the comments to my cleaners. The lockbox is very easy to use and no other guests have ever had any problems with entering the code. Sorry you had trouble and wished you could have told me about this immediately upon your arrival so it can be addressed immediately.

  • Fantastic place, exactly as described and in a really good location for access to downtown/convention areas.

  • We had needed a place at the last minute and Abel came through for us. The apartment is clean, has plenty of beds and all the essential amenities. The windows, when opened on both sides create a nice cross breeze and the area is very quiet, even with the windows open.

Perhaps the best part of Abel's place is that you get your own private garage for your car below the apartment. This saved us plenty of time, hassle and money that we didn't have to pay for parking.

    Highly recommended.

  • Abel was very prompt to answer any of our questions. We enjoyed having a garage to park our rented car and plenty of space to fit our family. My kids loved the ping pong table and the golf game. We could walk to most downtown locations or public transportations stops. We would recommend the rental to anyone interested in getting more space than an hotel room in a central location. The kitchen was also well equipped to our needs.

  • Lovely flat, well situated at walk distance from Union Square and fully equiped for the 4 of us. We had a pretty nice stay there.
We just regret not to have met Abel, who was very responsive and sympathetic by phone. His property manager / cleaner who lives downstairs was not as pleasant.
