An awesome, in ground pool gives opportunities for swimming while enjoying the view of the Puget Sound and amazing sunsets. Please be aware that there is no lifeguard and use of pool is at your own risk. This studio is not recommended for young children unless parents will be watching them at all times when they are outside. The stairs leading down to the apartment are in view of the pool and might be challenging for those with difficulty walking.
Feel free to borrow bikes to ride along beautiful highway 509. Located midway between Brown's Point Lighthouse Park in Tacoma and Dash Point State Park in Federal Way, a hilly walk or bike ride approximately 1.5 miles will get you to either location. The Aquatics Center of King County is 5 miles away. Explore downtown Tacoma, which boasts WA State History Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, Museum of Glass, Theater District, Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, and Foss Waterway Seaport, just 10 miles. Or, visit Mt. Rainer, Seattle or other numerous attractions.
Of course, there are coffee shops close by, as well as a variety of restaurants. I

This is a quiet residential neighborhood with great views of the sound. An elementary school is a 5 minute walk away with a nice playground and ball fields. Several eagles have been flying in this area since mid March, and we continue to be amazed by them. They are often seen before sunset.
The closest bus stop is 1.75 miles. Recommend that guests have access to a car. Two bikes are available for guests' use.

We were made to feel most welcome. This place is great and the view of Puget Sound is remarkable. The unit has all the amenities of home. There were things to eat and coffee. We felt like it was home away from home.
Our Washington vacation was two-fold; to visit our grandchildren and to familiarize ourselves with the area as we will be moving there in the near future. Our stay with Carola and Mike could not have worked out any better. Carola and Mike are very welcoming and friendly; you cannot find more accommodating hosts anywhere! They made us feel like family. On the 4th of July they even invited our entire family to watch the Tacoma fireworks over Puget Sound from their deck which was awesome!
The view of Puget Sound from the patio is spectacular and we enjoyed many a meal out on the patio table. Our grand kids spent time with Carola and her family enjoying their beautiful pool. They enjoyed themselves so much they asked for sleepovers…twice!
The apartment is spacious and comfortable. Both the kitchen and bathroom were well appointed and fully stocked with everything you needed. Fresh fruit and many goodies were provided for breakfasts and snacks along with just about everything one can think of in the bathroom, just in case you forgot something. The pool and the air conditioning were really appreciated during Washington’s record-breaking heat wave. We took advantage of the washer and dryer during our 15-day stay. All the supplies were there.
We highly recommend Carola, Mike, and their apartment for anyone looking for a truly relaxing, enjoyable experience.
I have stayed with Carola and Mike when I have visited family in Tacoma 3-4 times. I've lost count because it feels like a home away from home because of their graciousness and the comfort of their apartment. The bed is comfy and the kitchen is always filled with the essentials and a few surprises too. This year I took my granddaughter and brought my grandsons over to use the pool. Everyone had a wonderful time. Carola and Mike have made a few "improvements" by adding an outdoor table and private sitting area as well as opening up the incredible view. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets! It's always hard to leave and I always look forward to my next visit.
Carola and Mike were very welcoming and thoughtful! They have a gorgeous spot in Tacoma, beautiful view of the sound, wonderful deck and pool, great suite with a comfortable murphy bed, kitchen with everything you need and ample living space. Great place and great hosts! Thanks Carola and Mike!
I used to live in WA and I was returning for my daughters graduation with my husband. This was exactly what I was looking for in a place to stay for a week and is exactly as described plus more. The apartment is roomy, clean and really nice. The bed is beyond comfortable and so are the pillows. The couch is big and comfortable for relaxing and watching TV. We arrived quite late and she was there to show us around. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and cookware for anything you might want to prepare and she had left us stuff to make sandwiches and breakfast foods for our late night arrival and the morning. I had asked her about creamer for my coffee before arriving and she supplied it for me so I didn't need to stop at the store that night. There were extras in the bathroom for anything that you may have forgot to pack. Roomy shower with great water pressure and multiple setting shower head. Fluffy big towels to boot. The front loading washer and dryer are right off the apartment complete with all supplies needed and was a blessing when packing to go home. She provides a notebook with things to see, maps and highlights in the area. And lots of brochures of area attractions and parks. The pool area and view of the sound and island are beautiful and is all in a quiet neighborhood that is great after a day of sightseeing. I highly recommend staying here. It's close to everything, Tacoma, Seattle, Kent/Auburn area and convenient to get to but off the beaten path of the hectic roads for nice relaxing down time. Quick secure WIFI included, cable and great cell signal. DVD library also. I can't say enough about the wonderful stay we had. We would definitely stay again. Thanks for being a great host and making our stay so wonderful.
This is a lovely place to spend a few days. Plenty of room to spread out and a very comfy bed. Carola met us and showed us around. There were some goodies in the frig & cabinets that allowed us to snack the night we arrived, so we didn't have to shop right away. Beautiful view from the pool area, to cool to actually swim. I would definitely stay again if we're ever in Tacoma again.
Carola and Mike were very responsive and helpful. The apartment is exactly as described and was very comfortable. Our occasion for visiting was my daughter's graduation and despite my multiple scheduling mess ups they were very relaxed and made us feel welcome. Thank you!
