My son and I stayed here for 4 nights. The townhouse is exactly as described in the listing, and when we arrived everything was clean and ready for us. We definitely enjoyed our stay: the space is spacious, comfortable, thoughtfully furnished, and pretty conveniently located within Boulder.
Although we didn't see our host during our visit, she was always quick to get back to us during our stay, and really, other than getting the code for the door, we were all set.
This is a wonderful, relaxing place to stay for your Boulder visit, we definitely look forward to coming back again.
Apartment was in a great location near the 29th Street Mall, but easily accessible to CU campus, Pearl Street and the main thoroughfare through Boulder. Accommodations were in a quiet neighborhood and just as described, plenty of room for the three of us. Beds were extremely comfortable!
Pictures can not describe how much at home this house makes you feel. It is spacious, in a great and convenient location, and makes you not want to leave!!!
Jennifer was very responsive and we were able to check in only a few hours after initially contacting her. The condo felt a little stark at first but had everything we needed and once we got settled in it worked well for us. It is good sized place and we had two young kids who enjoyed sleeping in the upstairs movie room on the air mattress that was included though it was pretty cold up there - the heat didn't seem to work in that room. One thing that was a little odd was the glass front door looked right into the house but didn't have any sort of curtain so felt a little exposed. All in all it was a pleasant stay and Jennifer checked in on us but gave us plenty of space.
This was my 1st experience with airbnb so i was a little apprehensive and unfamiliar with the process.
Jennifer was amazing! The process was seamless and she responded almost immediately any time i contacted her.
The house was exactly as pictured and was in a great location. it was very easy to find & very close to Pearle street which is where we wanted to be.
There were 4 of us in the house (myself, my husband and a 12 & 18 year old). The house had plenty of room for all of us.
The glass block shower upstairs was unusual as stated in other reviews but there were 2 other floors that we could be on so that everyone could shower with privacy. Not having cable was a little strange but we could live stream from our computers and it also made us realize how much time we usually waste watching tv.
The house had everything we needed to cook which was a great plus.
We will return
Overall, our trip to Boulder was fantastic. The location of Jennifer’s apartment was excellent and convenient and only a quick drive away from where we wanted to be. The apartment looked exactly the way the pictures showed and had a nice loft style feel to it. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was stocked with all the supplies we needed for the duration of our stay. The fireplace was really wonderful after a long day out in the cold.
1)LACK OF PRIVACY: I didn’t fully understand until we got there. Many windows lacked curtains and the apartment is within a complex, so it is very easy for neighbors to see through. The wall that separates the upstairs shower and hallway is made entirely of glass blocks. No matter which way you slice it (even showering in the dark- which we had to do) you are able to fully see the person showering and going to the bathroom. We went with friends- VERY awkward.
2)EXTRA PERSON FEE: $50/night charge. When we got there, there were only 4 towels and were still in the dryer from the last group that had come. When we contacted Jennifer about this at 8pm, we received a vague response and did not get a proper response until 10am. Granted, this was NYE and she did warn us that she was having guests over. But not knowing what to expect until the next morning was quite disheartening. There was only partial roll of toilet paper in each bathroom. Jennifer said she would resolve the issue, but again- we did not know in what time frame and so we ended buying our own toilet paper. The air mattress for our 5th guest was crumpled on the floor with a dirty sweater and towel stuffed into it. Our friend ended up just sleeping on the couch. I think the extra person fee is a rip off for what we received.
3)DOOR LOCK: It is a code entry and kept jamming. We were quite worried that we would get locked out of the apartment. It needs to be replaced!
4)CLEANING FEE: Quite high for having to wash/dry all the sheets, towels, dishes, as well as handle the garbage/recycling. Especially since when we arrived the towels hadn’t even been taken out of the dryer. So not sure who’s getting paid for this work.
Here’s the thing. Even though there were quite a few things that were not handled properly, overall- was this place worth what we paid? It kinda was. At the end of the day, we had a warm and clean apartment to stay that met the majority of our needs. If curtains were put up, lock fixed and some extra fees adjusted I would rate this place a 4/5. Jennifer was nice and did respond in some fashion, but giving more specific information about how and when issues would be resolved would’ve been a better way to communicate.
Wow. A very disappointing review. I told Kim and her guests in advance that I was hosting a NYE party at my home. I answered her text DURING the party. Towels and Toilet Paper were delivered the next day. GUEST FEE is totally adequate at only $50/night when I have a limit of 4 people. Guests do DAMAGE to these places whether they realize it or not. DOOR LOCK: Doors are doors. Its automated and you received specific instructions on how it works. CLEANING FEE: My place is IMMACULATE for each guest because I have professionals come through, each time. Try other Airbnb's where the owner cleans. I am booked nearly every day of the month and have a 3 hours turn around on guests; which, is why guests are asked to put the towels through the wash and into the dryer. I do MORE than that when I am a guest at other people's places. My nightly fee is LOW for what you get. This probably isn't the place for you to stay, in the future.
Jennifer's place was amazing. She's incredibly responsive and friendly if you have any questions too. Had a bit of difficulty getting in the first time as the lock on the front door was a bit wonky, but no troubles once we got it down. I'd absolutely stay here again. Beds were incredibly comfortable, accommodations were nice and it's in a nice quiet neighborhood not far from the towns attractions.
I have been living in Boulder since 1991. I attended CU, snowboarded as much as possible and could not tear myself away from this gorgeous place. I run a top-producing real estate business, still snowboard, practice yoga, crossfit, see music as much as possible and MOSTLY play with my 4 year old and his dad.
I've been called the "Unofficial Mayor of Boulder" for as long as I can remember. Mostly that comes out of my contacts and referrals. I love giving them out to those who are deserving. If you have specific needs during your stay, I can customize that list, for you.
