Charming 1 bedroom apartment in a quiet neighborhood. Easy access to transit and tourist areas.
You will enjoy your stay in San Francisco in this cozy, beautiful apartment. This fully furnished apartment will comfortably sleep three people. There is a luxurious queen-size bed in the bedroom and a sofa in the living room which folds down to make a second bed. There is also a portable crib available. The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, stove, oven, granite counters, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, cooking and eating utensils. You'll find a selection of teas and coffee, as well as some basic condiments, all complimentary. Clean sheets and towels are supplied. There is a coin-op laundry one block away if you need to do laundry.
There is a garden out the back where you can sit out on a lovely day.
We are conveniently located two blocks from Golden Gate Park, and it's main attractions (Calif. Academy of Sciences, DeYoung Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, Conservatory of Flowers) are within walking distance. USF is two minutes walk away. Within 15 minutes walking is the Haight-Ashbury district and UCSF to the south, the Presidio, Geary and Clement St. business corridors to the north. Just down the street is Rossi Recreation Center, with pool, tennis courts, and playground. This is a very safe neighborhood to walk around.
We are located right along a bus line that will take you downtown to the Union Square area, financial district and Embarcadero. Street parking is plentiful, but there are restrictions during the day.
This apartment is a quiet and comfortable place to unwind after a day exploring San Francisco. Enjoy your stay!
You will have a fully private apartment, including private bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. There is a garden out the back that is shared and you are welcome to enjoy. Help yourself to lemons or herbs, but please leave the rest of the vegetables that are growing.
The Lone Mountain neighborhood (also part of the Inner Richmond neighborhood) is the home of the University of San Francisco. It is a quiet, residential neighborhood with basic amenities such as cafes, laundry, and groceries.
The public transportation in SF is pretty good. From the apartment, there is a bus line that will take you to the city center. You catch the 31 bus at Arguello and Turk, one block from the apartment, and get off at Powell & Market St. It’s about a 25 minute ride. At Powell and Market St., there are many options. Union Square and the major shopping district is in this area. You can also catch the cable car here, which will take you on a scenic ride to Fisherman’s Wharf, a major tourist destination.
The tourist information center is also located here, where you can buy a Muni Passport that will give you unlimited rides on busses, street cars, and cable cars. I highly recommend it. A 7 day pass costs $29. (website hidden) "sfmta muni passport" for more information.
Back at the apartment, there is another bus that runs along Arguello Blvd., one block from the apartment. It is the 33 bus. This bus takes you to the Haight-Ashbury, Castro, and Mission district neighborhoods, which are unique neighborhoods that offer a more local feel.
There are several options for getting from the airport to the apartment.
This is the cheapest option but takes the longest. From the Airport, you follow the signs to BART. Take BART to the Powell St. station. Exit the station and look for the Muni bus stop on the street level. Take the 31 Balboa bus, outbound. Take this bus for several miles. Get off at the Stanyan St. stop. Then walk down the hill to the corner of Turk St. and Willard North. The house is on the corner.
Shuttles/Vanpools are shared vans that will take you right to the door. This will generally get you here faster, but you may need to wait till the other passengers are dropped off. It costs $18-$20 per person (tips for the driver are customary). Look for the "vanpool" signs as you exit the baggage claim area. Tell the driver or attendant that you are going to the Richmond District. (website hidden) "sfo airport shuttle" for more information.
Taxis are fastest but most expensive. It will cost about $50 with tip for the ride but if you have 3 or more people it can be cheaper than a vanpool. Taxi stations are outside the baggage claim area (follow the signs for taxis at the airport).
I generally recommend to visitors not to have a car unless you will be making day trips outside the city. There are many good transportation options to get around within the city. However, if you really need a car you will need a parking permit.
You can get a Muni Passport that will give you unlimited rides on busses, street cars, and cable cars. Also, if you have an iPhone or Android phone there are applications that will summon a car to take you wherever you need to go. This is similar to taxi service but is much better. Type "sf ridesharing services" into your search engine. I recommend SideCar.

4) Please wash any dishes you use and try to leave the apartment in about the same condition as when you arrived.
5) Smoking is not allowed on the premises. You may smoke out on the sidewalk.
Phil was a great host. This was my first airb&b experience and everything was as described. Felt like a local and really enjoyed my stay. The location was great and easy to get around places. Would go back again!!
We really enjoyed our stay. Cozy, comfortable apartment with a cute garden at a great location close to USF. Very easy check-in. We will definitely come back!!!
Really enjoyed my time at Phil's apartment - such a great location in the city! Would recommend to anyone that is looking for a clean, quiet place.
Phil's appartement was perfect for us. He is very nice and helpful. The appartment was very comfortable and Phil prepared a manual to his hosts' attention with many details about the use of the appartment and many advises, maps and recommendations about Restaurants and famous spots in San Francisco The appartment is very close to several buses. It's very easy to get downtown with the bus and the magnificent Golden Gate Park is a walk distance away. There is a grocery store down the street and many restaurants a few blocks around. We highly enjoyed San Francisco and Phil's Appartement. I would definitely recomend it :)
This is my 2nd time staying at Phil's apartment. Yet again, I felt very welcomed, comfortable & happy staying there. It's very clean, convenient, & central to various locations in SF. Phil is quick to address any concerns & very kind. I hope up stay there, again. Thank you so much, Phil! :)
The apartment was clean, well-furnished and in a great/quiet/safe location . It was more spacious than the photos let on, especially the bedroom. It was well-stocked with crockery. Phil made checking-in simple, and check-out convenient by allowing us to stow our luggage on our last day. My family and I loved staying here, and would recommend this apartment to anyone.
This apartment worked out perfectly for my in-laws to come and stay in our neighborhood. They were very comfortable and felt the location and the place worked great for them. They mentioned they would like to stay there again next time they come visit. Thanks Phil!
