A spacious guest house with a lot of natural light with easy access to Santa Monica, Brentwood, and all of West LA!

We are offering our recently built backhouse/studio in a centrally located residential neighborhood with very easy access to Santa Monica beaches, UCLA, and all of West LA. The studio is the entire second story (500 square feet) over a detached 2 car garage and shares the large and professionally landscaped backyard for the main house. There is 1 QUEEN size bed plus a queen size pull out couch that is surprisingly comfortable, a full bath, and a wet-bar with fridge/freezer, microwave, and coffee/tea accommodations.

We can provide pack-n-plays and some toys, if needed, for anyone visiting with small children. The studio has an air conditioner/heater, but the A/C is rarely needed in the summer since there is a wonderful cross breeze and we are close enough to the ocean. Currently the garage is used mostly for storage and laundry so there will be very minimal noise of opening/closing the garage door below you.

- Kitchenette with refrigerator, freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and hot water kettle
- Very comfortable Queen size bed.
- Couch can sleep an additional 2
- 47" Flat Screen TV (added Jan 2013) with cable
- DVD player
- Clean Linens
- WIFI/Internet access
- Beach towels available, just ask
- Spacious back yard with swings and a slide
- "Pack and play", and toys available
- Easy parking in front of house

* Please tell us a bit about yourself so we know who we're communicating with. Thank you!

We tend to be relatively 'hands off' since you have your own entrance and the guest house is completely separate from the main house. I like to be home to greet you if possible, but otherwise just only to be available for questions without intruding on your holiday.

If you arrive by car, ample parking is available on the street and no permits are needed. Street sweeping comes between 12-3p on Thursdays and Fridays, so be sure to be on the correct side of the street during those times to avoid a ticket.

If you are not traveling with a car, we are walking distance to bus lines with very easy access to beaches, shopping, etc. I have run to the beach from our place (approx 2.5 miles) and we often ride bikes there.

Your Host

We are a family who loves to travel and values the amenities that a home away from home offers over a hotel. Our travels have kept us more local since having kids, but previously we have enjoyed traveling all over Europe, most of the US, Costa Rica, and Thailand. I (Julie) lived in London for about a year and a half which allowed me to explore many parts of Europe.

I am an AirBnB host and have really enjoyed meeting the people who have come from all over the world to stay in our guest house since summer 2011.

Before choosing to stay home full time with my kiddos, I worked in marketing & business development.

*Starting April 1, 2015 my brother's father in law, Andrew, will be living in our front house rather than us. We will have moved to a new home about 10 minutes away. Andrew is a professional in the insurance industry, originally from Oregon until his career brought him to LA.*
