Mountain and valley views

Soak up the views during your stay.
Bring your writing or art project to this tranquil, handcrafted cabin with its Bitterroot Range backdrop. On 16 acres with resident deer and meadowlarks, your space is aligned with Mount Idaho to the southwest and under inspiring big-sky and starry landscapes. Enjoy the walk-in shower, laundry and fully equipped bunkhouse kitchen with farmhouse sink. Consult house rules: no unregistered guests or visitors, no pets or children < 12. Author owner on site. Nature, tranquility and inspiration await!

The space
Unplug, unwind and escape to this unique, artisan-crafted arched cabin in Idaho, blending tiny house charm with Bitterroot Range views.

Built by your host and local craftsmen, the 20x24 ft ground floor features a cozy bunkhouse kitchen, daybed, office with desktop and monitor, dining area, bathroom, walk-in tiled shower, and laundry. Sleep on the daybed or in the half-loft’s comfy Teton cots (one regular, one XL), reached by a spiral staircase.

Savor light-filled vaulted ceilings, a scenic back deck, and vibrant sunsets. Wildlife abounds—deer, eagles, elk, pheasant, and more roam nearby, with coyotes calling in the distance. Wake early to spot deer near the orchard or marvel at panoramic views of Gospel Hump, Snowhaven, Cottonwood Butte, and Clearwater Valley.

Note: Not suitable for toddlers or children under 12 due to the open-tread spiral staircase and loft railing.

Guest access
Park easily on the gravel turnaround, with space for one or two vehicles\.

Your host lives in a nearby cabin, ready to assist if needed. Only guests registered in advance (max 3) are permitted, . Pets are not allowed due to free-ranging chickens and livestock.

Guests can use their cabin space and deck as well as set up an easel or walk around the 16 acres for different views. The golden hour before sunset is often striking.

Other things to note
Architecture enthusiasts will love this equilateral arched cabin, reminiscent of Ireland’s Gallarus Oratory, perched lightly on piers like a cat on the sloping hillside. Aligned with Mount Idaho’s peak near Grangeville, it’s a striking sight. The owner led the 20-month build, crafting 30 unique arches, watercolor roof metal, decks, bunkhouse kitchen, vanity, dining table, daybed frame, and shoe bench, with guidance from Western North Carolina builder Eric Bellin.

Perfectly positioned on scenic Route 12 — among America’s most beautiful byways — between Missoula and Lewiston/Clarkston, it’s ideal for travelers. Enjoy nearby whitewater rafting, hot springs, hiking, hunting, fishing, or even a unique taxidermy school.
