W il buonsenso!!
Excellent stay in the apartment. Perfect located - close to the main train station of Ostia. 30 minutes with the bus from the airport (ticket 1,50€!) and 30 minutes with train to the centre of Rome (ticket 1,50€!)
Cosy apartment with all what you need! Friendly and easy contact to Stefano. I highly recommend a stay at Stefano's apartment!
Situated in a lovely little town just a 30 minute metro ride away from the centre of Rome, Stefano's apartment is exactly what we needed for our weekend getaway. The pictures here don't do it justice - it's genuinely much nicer in person. With the station, a supermarket, cafes, restaurants and bars only a stones throw away, it really was everything we needed and more. Stefano wasn't available to greet us whilst we were there, so he arranged for his friend Roberto to pick us up from the airport and show us the apartment. Roberto was incredibly helpful, and made sure we had maps for both the local area and the centre of Rome, and he also came back and advised us on how to get to the airport to catch our return flight home.
The whole place is incredibly clean and well looked after - a real home from home, with towels, clean linen, a fully equipped kitchen and washing machine for longer stays.
If we were to return to Rome again in the future, Stefano's apartment in Ostia would definitely be our first choice of accommodation as it made a fantastic stay even more wonderful!
When you are looking for a place to stay for an entire month, like me and my partner did, you really keep your fingers crossed that everything would be like on the photos ... This apartment looks great, doesn't it? In reality it is – believe it or not – a thousand times better :)!
It's a piece of art, quite literally! It's beautiful and so thoughtfully decorated, comfortable, bright, very clean and in it you will find EVERYTHING you could possibly need (be it tourist information, body lotion, an iron or a cooking book-even for dogs!). We spent some time just taking in all the details, but felt at home right away.
The location is fantastic, calm and safe but still only a minute away from the metro station that will take you to Rome or Ostia Antica. Supermarkets, other stores and restaurants are just across the street, you can walk to the beach and stop at at least two fantastic gelaterias :).
Stefano is a great, thoughtful host, very kind, fair and always ready to help with everything you need. He even brought us some tasty sweets :). We are very grateful to him. In the month we've spent here we visited Rome and neighboring cities and we are convinced that staying in Lido di Ostia and Stefano's apartment was the best decision. We already considered visiting this part of Italy again just so we could stay here again ;).
The wi-fi connection can be a bit slow sometimes, but then again, you won't come here to spend your time staring at the computer screen ;). You might however get tempted to skip a trip and just spend a day enjoying the coziness of the apartment :). And you should!
