About this listing
ESCAPE THE CITY AND IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE SIMPLE PLEASURES OF THIS OCEANFRONT CABIN WITH CHARACTER.
Lots of charm in this sweet cozy cabin nestled between the woods and the water. Get reconnected with nature, exploring the miles of soft sand stone shoreline and the tide pools or walking the country roads.
Fall asleep to the sound of the ocean, and wake up to the sunrise over the straight of Georgia, with Mount Baker Views. Whether it’s reading a book by the fire, soaking up the sun or enjoying a game of bacci ball on the huge lawn, the ocean is right there. Napping in the hammock is also a favorite past time.
The cabin's interior has lovingly evolved over time, with an eclectic mix ensuring a mood of an era gone by. There's an open floor plan for living, dining and cooking. The master bedroom (queen) has double doors to a small deck as well as a lovely window seat. The loft sleeps 2-4, perfect for guests or kids, and there's a double pull-out sofa in the living room. The Cabin can sleep 8 (but more comfortably, 2-4).
A large oceanfront deck spans the width of the cabin. Dine outdoors on a large picnic table logged from the property that seats 12. Indoor dining seats 4-6.

The photos perfectly capture the cozy feel of this special cabin overlooking the Strait. It has a unique perspective of West Van in the distant, Deltaport and Tsawassen to the east. Talk about priceless views and sunsets. Forget about television for a week (but expect very reliable wifi) and soak up Gulf Island sea-life in front of the cabin. It was great having lots of clean towels, a full-size fridge and kitchen utensils. And Joel's directions and welcome package emailed before our arrival was appreciated.
My wife and I loved staying in this little cabin. We would just gaze out into the sea and watch the otters and seals, the loons and terns, and the minks. Every day we'd go down to the rocky shore and see the sea life in the tide pools and even made friends with a curious little otter.
It's a short drive away from the local market and some great eateries, and we had everything we needed to be able to make our own meals and enjoy quiet time in the cabin with the wood fireplace crackling and surrounded by the sounds of nature.
We can't wait to come back again with our little one.
We had a lovely time at this cabin. Joel was very quick, responsive, and easy to deal with. He gave us a guide to the island before we arrived that was very helpful. I was traveling with a group of four adults and a dog. The property was beautiful - we loved the big yard and the hammock, and the deck overlooking the water. We also enjoyed walking down to the beach right below - we watched the seals swim back and forth all weekend. My only critiques of our stay would be that the "beds" up in the loft area are just little foam mattresses on the floor - not too comfortable for two adults after a couple of days, but would probably be fine for kids. The cabin could have also used a bit of a more thorough cleaning before we arrived, and an easier to use BBQ would also be nice. Aside from that, we really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again - but more likely with only two people.
We loved this cozy cabin, which was just enough space for our family of four. Everything was finished very nicely and we had everything we needed. We appreciated how this cabin was nestled in the forest next to the water, keeping lots of habitat for wildlife around it. We immensely enjoyed the variety of birds and other wildlife around the cabin and on the water. We look forward to coming back!
it's a spot like this which truly sets the tone for a relaxing + cozy weekend away from the city. this sweet little cabin is located right on the rock beach-making for gorgeous views (and wildlife) from morning till night. although a very large island, you are close to the best beach at montague harbour. would stay here again for sure!
We had an nice experience staying at the shoreline getaway. It is in a great location right on the beach and has a lovely deck and grassy area nearby. The cabin itself is a mix of modern and dated elements—the posted pictures are very flattering to the old furniture. It is what I would call a rustic experience, but you can't beat the scenery!
Our one complaint is that it was a bit cold all the time. There is no heating in the main room except for the fire (there was a baseboard but there didn't seem to be anywhere to turn it on), and there wasn't any kindling or newspaper provided to light the fire. So - bring firestarter or something like that.
