I would definitely not recommend this place. The room I stayed in had a very strong mold/mildew smell. It was in a basement, completely below ground, and the ground surrounding it was constantly wet. It was very cold and damp. The room was extremely tiny, only slightly larger than the bed. The second morning I was there, the shower backed up and wouldnt drain, so water filled up in the whole bathroom- very unclean. I kept the door to the tiny room open in the morning when I was having coffee because the moldy smell was too strong with the door closed. There was a lot of dust throughout the room. There were two additional rented rooms in the basement- so 5 people were sharing only one bathroom. This was very inconvenient.

Response from Barbara:
What a shame, that you didn give me the chance to help you right away and profit during your stay! Also please dont expect an aircondition, its unusual in Austia. Please ventilate the room as asked in the house rules! As I clean the rooms myself I know its clean! Yes there is a shared bathroom as described in the listings...I did a lots of favours for this guest, what a pity she forgot to mention....I even gave her an additional heating. And no worries the room is more than double of the bed. And its NOT completly under ground, because it also has a window as seen on the fotos.. Dear guests dont book the budget room, if you want a larger one and spend a little more money.

Barbara is great at being available for questions. I very much appreciated using the lone parking spot in front of her house, on a narrow street with a tram and no parking. The tiny single room I rented in the basement was just fine, but I found the tiny hall "kitchenette" to not be well set up to accommodate the number of people using it and their various needs.

Small but affordable and quaint. The shared bathroom was the only minor inconvenience, but the price and the owner were wonderful.

Barbara's place is just as described. The room, kitchen area, and bathroom are clean, well-kept, and were perfect for our 5-day stay in Salzburg. Barbara was in constant communication with us, was very proactive, and extremely hospitable. Would recommend to all!

Barbara is a friendly welcoming hostess. Her house is not very far from the center, I would guess about a 20 to 30 min walk? I took the bus, which comes frequently to the stop about 50 meters away. The neighborhood is clean and pleasant, there is a creek nearby and views of the surrounding mountains. Barbara also provides basic breakfast items, tea & coffee. The house is a renovated older house, but is stylish and has character.

Don't look any further for maximum comfort, convenience or class...Barbara has it all waiting for you at her gorgeous, antique filled villa 1902. Just bring yourself! Shampoo, rinse, body wash, excellent beddinglinens and a superb coffee/breakfast bar are all right there for your convenience. My arrival time was going to be after 8 p.m. so I let her know this in advance. All communication before and during the stay was extremely clear. Barbara could not have been more helpful! The room is, indeed, small and very fine; comfy and charming as a boutique hotel. I would welcome the opportunity to be a guest at Barbara's in the future. Thanks for your superb attention with every detail and warm welcome. Everything was simply wonderful!

I live with still 2 of 4 children in Salzburg. I grew up in my fathers hotel . Therefore interested in people from different countries and cultures with their stories, the beauty of art and of the little things and the breathtaking nature are fascinating me. My house and garden are reflecting this. And I love gardening- or changing talk to me, .
