WELCOME TO T-MANOR
An enormous, 106 year-old, Craftsman-styled home, located in the Silver Lake hills, just north of Sunset. Built to inspire creativity and entertain celebrities!
Architectural relics, relocated from iconic Hollywood landmarks, are built-in throughout the home.
There is plenty of unrestricted, free parking.
...Peruse the library...whip up a feast, compose a tune on a piano or guitar...shoot some darts......relax on one of the decks, soak in the hot tub, zone out on the views...
The home is PERFECT for business and work-related events.
We've hosted major fashion designer's design meetings, television writing retreats, tech pow-wows...NPR producers, Broadway stars, touring musicians...Airbnb's own staff has even used the home (twice!) as a base to plan their L.A. events.
Your hosts, Al & Leslie, live on site in a private attic suite.
THE FRONT ENTRANCE IS SHARED, so we hosts get to mingle briefly, coming and going. Otherwise, we stay out of the way and allow our guest's their privacy.
The guest's enjoyment and free use of the home is never compromised. At all times, we honor and absolutely respect the guest's privacy.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND that our house is over 106 years old! The flooring, walls and paint are oozing with 'character', meaning that they are somewhat flawed, and well-lived in. We do not intend to represent that our home is in perfect, pristine condition.
If this kind of 'character' is not acceptable to you, we understand and encourage you to look elsewhere.
Your kids will go BONKERS with our great chests of toys, cabinets filled with board games, puzzles, art supplies...rope swings!
PLEASE NOTE! The property is a 3-story, hillside home with lots of areas that are not safe for unsupervised toddlers or small children.
A friendly dog named 'Miss Charlie' lives on the premises.
Please check with your group, prior to booking, for dog allergies.
There is a $75 doggie charge to bring your own little fuzzball along...Please contact the hosts first, to talk about compatibility and our expectations regarding your pets.
REGARDING FILM/ LOCATION USE:
The house is used frequently as a filming location.
The light is fantastic, the parking is good.
Additional charges are applied for filmed projects. Please contact host for details.
DESCRIPTIONS of the bedrooms:
A huge room (almost 400' square feet). Arched doorways to the bed area and it's colorful, hand-painted murals. A tiled niche with washing sink. A massive, early 1900's armoire closet. A giant door leads out to the brick back patio and hot tub.
This room has a 'California-King' sized bed.
One full corner of Craftsman-styled windows. A walk-in closet. Sexy art.
This room has a queen-sized bed.
BEDROOM 3 (dubbed 'The Temple" by our lovely first guest, Sheri.
Overflowing with detail. Constructed from bits and pieces of famous recording studios.
This room has a queen-sized bed.
Please note!! BEDROOM 3 is detached from the main house.
The FRONT ROOM: A 50" flat screen, smart TV with cable and internet access. A fully stocked, complimentary bar. Heavy, red velvet privacy curtains. A comfy, single bed and large sofa. This room can become a 'fourth' bedroom and can accommodate up to three sleeping guests.
JUST TO CLARIFY...
If we are accommodating 12 people, there is space for 7 people on real beds and space for 5 additional sleepers on couches, spare mattresses & yoga mats.
THE EVIL CITY TAX!!!
Due to the Los Angeles City tax laws, guests must pay a 14% transient occupancy tax for all stays of 30 days or less.
The tax amount is to be paid directly to the hosts, separately from other Airbnb fees.
It is not included in the price you pay to Airbnb.
Airbnb has no facility to collect the City tax at this time. Please call Airbnb's support line to confirm this.
City taxes are to be settled up one day prior to check-out.
Hosts will accept cash, payment by check or a deposit into a Paypal account.
Failure to pay city taxes at check out will result in the tax amount due (14%) to be forfeited from the Guest's security deposit.

We're located just down the street from the infamous 'Paramour Mansion', AKA, the Canfield-Moreno Estate. Look it up!...it has an amazing history.
Short walking distance to Sunset Junction and the farmers market and the Silver Lake Reservoir.

Vietnamese food at PHO (on Sunset) is THE BEST! Intelligensia, LA Mill, Silver Lake Wine, "Cliff's Edge" on Edgecliff St..... The GREAT, iconic breakfast place, "Millies", is right down the street.
Centrally located - It's a 10 minute drive to Hollywood, downtown LA, LA Live, Staples Center, Disney Hall, Universal Citywalk, Dodger Stadium, and Griffith Park. Beaches are a 30 minute drive via freeways with the 101, 5, and 10 Fwy easily accessed.
Interaction with Guests
The front entrance is shared, so we get to mingle briefly with our guests, coming and going. Mostly, we try to stay out of the way.
However, we do love being invited to sit and visit with our guests....to talk and find out about each other.
We are active, accomplished and passionate musicians. Occasionally, our guests will ask us to break out the guitars and percussion instruments, and then we'll all play some music together. We love a good, impromptu jam session.....that's what life's all about!
QUIET ENJOYMENT OF THE HOME: Guests agree to keep the noise down and respect our awesome neighbors.
No outdoor noise after 10:00pm!!
Throwing parties or inviting large groups of visitors to the home without prior consent from the hosts will result in a forfeiture of the security deposit.
NUMBER OF GUESTS: The number of guests staying on premises is not to exceed the number of guests indicated and confirmed on your Airbnb reservation contract. Evidence that the number of guests staying (on premises) exceeds the number indicated on contract may result in a forfeiture of the security deposit.

HOT TUB: The hot tub is available for normal use until 10pm. Afterwards, the hot tub may be used ONLY if guests keep conversations down to whisper levels. Loud talking in the hot tub after 10pm will result in a forfeiture of security deposit.
After 2:00am, the hot tub is off limits.
THIRD-PARTY BOOKINGS: All reservations must be booked by someone who will actually be staying at the listing, unless there is prior consent from the hosts. Failure to disclose a third-party reservation will result in the forfeiture of the security deposit.
PETS: There is a $75 charge to bring your dog along with you... but please contact the hosts first, to talk about compatibility and our expectations regarding your pets.
FILMING: Contact the hosts regarding film work.
KEYS: Guests are given keys upon arrival. Please leave the keys in a visible area at checkout. Please don't lose your key!
SMOKING is not allowed inside the house. Evidence of smoking in the house will result in a forfeiture of the security deposit.
DANGEROUS MATERIALS: Guests shall not keep or have on or around the premises any item of a dangerous, flammable or explosive character that might unreasonably increase the risk of fire or explosion.
INCLUSIVE FEES – Rates include a one-time linen & towel setup.
NO DAILY HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE – While linens and bath towels are included, daily maid service is not.
Please leave the place clean...like you found it! Excessive messiness may result in a forfeiture of the security deposit.
Please do not remove towels or linens from the house.
PETS: Guest are allowed to keep dogs on the premises with prior consent from the Hosts.
WATER – We ask you to please use water minimally. The drought is upon us!
NO use of candles or incense.
PLUMBING. Due to the age of the house, the toilet plumbing is delicate.
DO NOT FLUSH ANYTHING other than toilet paper down the toilet. If it is determined that the sewer line is backed up due to the flushing of paper towels or other items, the security deposit will be forfeited.
There is one Black trash bin, one Blue recycling bin and one Green bin, located on the side of the house. Please dispose of your waste accordingly.
ELECTRICITY, A/C, AND HEAT -- We ask that you please remember to turn off all lights when not using them!
Before checking out, the house should be restored to the condition in which it was found; kitchen counters cleared, dishes washed, trash taken out and put in appropriate bins.
Please just leave the place as CLEAN as you found it!
City taxes (14%) are to be paid directly to host prior to check out time.
The Homeowners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occur while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all Guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.
LIABILITY WAIVER: All Guests, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable California law, hereby waive and release any claim that Guests now or later might have against Owner and Owner’s employees and agents, regarding the construction, design, maintenance, repair, or condition of the premises negligent conduct of Guests, Guest’s employees or agents, or any activities that take place thereon or therein. Without limiting the foregoing, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable California law, Guest hereby assumes the risk of harm to Guest, Guest’s personal property, and Guest’s agents and invitees in whole or part arising from or related to any of the foregoing causes.
Great neighborhood, great view (amazing sunsets looking over LA), great hosts, and a great house! Al and Leslie made my family feel right at home from the moment we arrived - even my 18 month old, who they got the swing down for ;) I never saw them again after that, though I wouldn't have minded if we had, since they have the best energy! Would stay again.

From the moment we arrived, Al and Leslie made our entire group feel at home. From recommendations on what to do and where to eat to playing upright bass and guitar as part of a late night jam session, they could not have been better hosts. The description of the house does not do it justice. I would highly recommend this property to any group of people spending some time in the L.A. area.
Al and Leslie were fantastic!. They have great stories and were a lot of fun. The house is really bohemian cool...it is an eclectic mix of reclaimed and salvaged items mixed with an array of antiques...I saw something new every day...and the view of the city from the rear balcony is nothing short of amazing. Our group stayed for a trade show at the convention center and this location was very convenient. We will definitely stay here again in the future...highly recommended!
This was an unforgettable experience. It's hard to describe how Al and Leslie went out of their way to make us feel at home AND special but in a few words: live music, incredible photography, books, works of art, general generosity and the best views of LA I've ever seen. This is indeed a SPECTACULAR house.
