Interaction with Guests
In terms of our interaction with guests that will be strictly their call. If a quiet retreat is what they are looking for that's what they will have.
Our neighborhood feels very rural, only 4 houses on our hill overlooking Puget Sound. Our property is 1/2 acre and completely private.
Once you are in Gig Harbor there is now a trolley that will take you from one part of town to another.
Other Things to Note
Many of our friends and family who have stayed with us tell us they feel like the are in their own little private B&B set off from the rest of the house.
We ask that there is no smoking and no pets. We assume everyone will treat our home like they would their own!
We came to Gig Harbor to spend our wedding anniversary here. What a beautiful house, and our room was actually a well decorated suite with gorgeous water views, and close to town. Most enjoyable. Our host Dee was very gracious and helpful. We will definitely be back!
Dee is an excellent host and very thoughtful about the comfort of her guests. Her property is well-described and photographed, including the attractive and spacious quarters, along with the maritime landscape. The amenities were everything we hoped for, and more. The view from the house is truly breath-taking and it was a pleasure to observe it in the morning and evening. My husband and I also enjoyed watching the volunteer landscapers -- a family of deer who took their breakfast from a nearby hedge. Feeling fortunate after our Gig Harbor adventure, we're now planning to return in the fall when we can stay a bit longer in these lovely surroundings.
Dee, Barry and their Rescue Mascot Oliver, greeted us with big smiles and a wagging tail (Oliver). We instantly felt welcomed in their beautiful, immaculate and spacious home. This looked and seemed too good to be true. Nice hosts with a sweet dog and a room to stay in for a few nights. Oh, it was true alright and it was just the beginning, Dee showed us where we would be staying.....wow, it was our own floor, the bottom floor that was large enough for us to live in. Everything was perfectly thought out from the popcorn and water if we needed in a mini fridge to the microwave if we needed it. They offered up a corkscrew and beautiful wine glasses when we brought our own wine in at Dee's recommendation of one of her faves. The bedroom was decorated tastefully and perfect, for napping or sleeping like really sleeping, which we did the entire night the bed was so comfortable. The windows open if you want a breeze from the harbor. Each night we sat outside and sipped our glass of wine and watched deer in the backyard only a few feet away and baby rabbits. Every morning Dee, brought down a perfect light Continental Style Breakfast with either coffee or hot tea and warm croissants, fresh seasonal fruits and yogurt. Spot on to start each morning. If you are looking for the perfect Gig Harbor stay this is it just don't try to get it next year when we return or we would be crushed. Thank you once again. Slainte from Chell and Michael
Our hostess Dee welcomed my wife and me warmly for our week long stay, as we were also greeted by her small but energetic and friendly dog Oliver. Later we met Barry, Dee's husband, and he extended his hospitality in an equally generous way. Our hosts' property is a sumptuous house on well maintained grounds enjoying a spectacular view over the Colvos Passage to the wooded Vashon Island in Puget Sound, and beyond to Mt. Rainer. They live in neighborhood of likewise premium properties a mere 10 minute drive to the northeast of Gig Harbor in a secluded setting.
Our suite on the lower level opening through French doors to the garden was spacious, with areas for a breakfast table, entertainment center with large flat screen television ensconced in a practical and attractive piece of functional furniture with cabinetry to match, and a small, yet adequate, storage room for refrigerator, microwave, and crockery. The bedroom featured generous closet space, a comfortable queen size bed, and that aforementioned spectacular view over the Sound. Throughout the suite, in fact throughout their home as we were able to notice coming and going, were tasteful pictures, maps, lithographs, and numerous artifacts, many with a nautical theme consistent with the experiences of this naval family, with traditions including a period of life in County Down, Northern Ireland.
If that were not enough, Dee served us a delicious and varied Continental breakfast each day right on the time of our request at 8:00.
All in all, my wife and I had a thoroughly delightful experience staying with Dee and Barry in their beautiful home.
This is a five star recommendation for all good reason.
Dee & Barry were very gracious and truly welcomed us into their home. Wonderful accommodations - better than their excellent description. The views were great and the bed so comfy. Top notch all the way. Thank you!

About the Host, Dee
My husband and I enjoy sharing our really wonderful home. He's in real estate and I am a designer. We love to cook, entertain and watch the Seahawks. We think it's delightful to meet new people from many different places but also are quite happy to allow people to have a quiet, private peaceful retreat if that's what they choose.
