One of the best sea views on the Cornish holiday letting market. Free on street parking 150 meters from property. Parking at property in summer school holidays.

Stunning studio loft apartment just 200 metres from the sea and beach. Wake up to the view of the sea from the end of the bed.

The space
Although many like to wake up to the view of the sea from their bed there are privacy screens for the front windows and we also have blackout blinds that can be stuck on the front windows for those who like it really dark in the summer months. The velux windows have blinds too.

The Loft is equipped with everything you need.

For entertainment a FIRE TV and blu ray player, SKY TV, SKY Sports and Cinema, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Discovery+, Paramount+, a good number of DVDs, a Bluetooth sound speaker and a few books. The broadband is ultrafast with good WiFi signal.

Beautiful en-suite shower room with rain shower-head and handheld shower wand. The kitchen has everything you should need to cook. There are a few condiments provided like salt and pepper but if you are planning on cooking a lot we recommend you bring what you need with you.

Washing up liquid and all cleaning materials are provided as well should you need them. Hand soap in the en-suite.

A hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a torch are a few other items we provide.

There is a separate entrance lobby to hang your coats up and store your shoes as well as a hand sanitising station.

As one would expect there are some low sloping ceilings due to it being a loft so please mind your head.

10 external steps into property.

Free on street parking within 100-150metres (1 minute walk) from the property. You can stop safety right outside the property on our parking space in the extremely quiet private road to unload/load/drop off at any time.

We do offer free parking at the property on the private parking bay in the school summer holidays July 18th-Sept 1st 2026.

Neighborhood highlights

Small friendly community with great local facilities. This is the best place in Cornwall to spend your holiday. I know I am biased as I have lived here for 35 years but honestly, it really is! South East Cornwall is known as the forgotten corner of Cornwall, often over looked it is unspoilt and beautiful and I would encourage anyone to come and discover it.

Downderry has a shop, cafe, pub and restaurant all just 1 minutes walk from The Loft. The pub 'The Inn On The Shore' is situated right on the sea front and is a great place to enjoy local ales over looking the sea. The shop stocks essentials. There is a very popular vegetarian cafe called 'Something Different' in the middle of the village. Bewshea’s restaurant is very popular and provides guests with a restaurant within a minutes walk.

Downderry beach is approximately 200 metres from the loft which is a family friendly beach used by many of the locals. It is sandy with some pebbles here and there and has lovely rock pools on low tide to explore. Perfect place for kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, swimming and snorkelling. You can walk all along the beach from Downderry to Seaton. Seaton Beach is just half a mile West of Downderry and is lifeguarded by the RNLI from May - September. Seaton also has 1 bistro beach bar, 1 pub, beach cafe, toilet facilities, outdoor adult gum equipment, children play area including a multi games area and a country park with river valley walks all the way to Hessenford where you can stop for a pint at the Copley Arms pub, so plenty to do.

The SW coast path runs right through Downderry and walks to both the east and west take you along some stunning unspoilt coastal vistas. It is easy to drive to different starting points within the 25 miles of coast path within SE Cornwall.

Just 6 miles to the East the stunning Whitsand Bay is a must. 5 miles of golden sands at Low tide. Adventure Bay Surf School operate from Tregonhawke Beach. It has 4 lifeguarded beaches along its coastline. Just check tide times and swim at the lifeguarded beach in between the red and yellow flags. The area is known for its good surfing waves and subsequent rip currents.

Kingsand and Cawsand are beautiful and a stones throw away from Whitsand Bay. Lovely little fishing villages with cobbled streets over looking the mouth of Plymouth Sound.

Close by is Mount Edgecombe County Park which has a stately home and gardens to explore as well as a restaurant in its orangery. From Cremyll you can get a foot ferry to Royal William Yard which is over the river Tamar within Plymouth. It is a former vittaling yard which has been converted in to stunning restaurants, bars, and Shops. Well worth a visit. The Hoe and the Barbican area of Plymouth are also well worth a visit, the view of Plymouth Sound from on top of the Hoe is fantastic.

To the West along the coast you have the popular villages and towns of Looe, Polperro and Polruan and Fowey. All beautiful quaint Cornish coastal locations. If visiting Fowey avoid the crowds and car parking headaches by driving to Polruan on the East side of the Fowey river and get the foot ferry from the harbour over to Fowey. Everything in Fowey is walking distance. The car park at Polruan at the top of the hill is one of the most beautiful locations of any car park in the U.K. we would think! It looks out over St Austell Bay and down the Fowey River. Try it and see! On Wednesdays in the summer you can go on board a guided tour of the RNLI Lifeboat for a donation of your choice.

To get to the North Coast of Cornwall is around 1 hour for places like Polzeath, Perranporth. St Ives a little further at about 1.5 hour drive. The Eden Project is about a 1 hour drive.

Large supermarkets can be found at Liskeard (Morrisons) Saltash (Waitrose/Lidl) Plymouth (Sainsbury's/Tesco/Asda). Most do online ordering and home delivery to Downderry if you need to do a large grocery shop while you are here.

So much to see and do both close by and a little further a field.
