  • Sure, you can stay in one of the many hotels in Shanghai. Or you can extend yourself and experience the thriving laneway homes, bustling with life. With little language I was able to interact with the grandmas sorting their greens or knitting. So you may need to engage in some creative charades, but the reality was that the moment you turn the key into the Zen Studio, you feel immediately at home. The studio was immaculate and although small, felt comfortable and was spotless, with a functional spotless bathroom and an awesome outdoor balcony. Meeting Nath Nath for breakfast was an added bonus and it was obvious that she is passionate and knowledgeable about the area. Communication from the very first day was professional and thorough, with every aspect thought out. We enjoyed our stay, the location central enough to the heart of Shanghai, with the added advantage of having the opportunity to experience it from its street heartbeat.

  • Heavenly Zen was just what we were looking for! A clean, peaceful place in the midst of traditional Chinese lane. Though small, it has everything you need plus a good, hot shower and a lovely balcony. I didn't get to meet Nath, but I feel like I know her. We chatted on line throughout the stay. She and her place are delightful.

  • Nathalie is a lovely and hospitable host. She provided me with all the info I needed and went out of the way to help. Her apt is a gem hidden in an authentic and historical 'village', conveniently located in an area full of independent shops and cafés. If you want an authentic experience in Shanghai, look no further!

  • Really nice studio in good location in between Jing An and Huai Hai Road. Clean and tastefully decorated. Water heat and pressure in shower is very strong which is rare for a top floor unit in an old lane house. Outside deck would be great during warmer weather. Only complaint is occasional noise from the room next door on the same floor, but not a deal breaker by any means. Nath was extremely helpful and super responsive whenever I had a question (SMS or WeChat). Would stay here again.

  • Nath was an amazing host!! She made sure I had all the info I needed to make it to the place and even had drinks with me to make sure I knew what were the best things to see in town! Her studio was perfect too. Nice and cozy and so close to the metro!

  • A perfect cozy pad, very interesting location, which is close to bars and restaurants. Our favourite part of the studio was the balcony with hammock! Everything provided worked and the place was spotless.

Nath is an amazing vibrant person, full of energy and helpful advice. She met us for a glass of wine and some good conversation.

    Highly recommended.

Thanks Nath, all the best to you, until we meet again :-)

  • I stayed at Nath`s "Heavenly Zen Studio" for 2 weeks and enjoyed every day of it. The studio is rather small, but there is everything you need, including a wardrobe for your clothes, a big fridge, a well working washing machine and most important in winter time, an efficient heater.
The tiny bathroom suits the purpose well and there is always plenty of really hot water - also important in winter time!
There is also a balcony with a great view which will be perfect in the warmer season. You even can see the "bottle opener" on the Pudong side from the balcony!
Big plus of the studio is its location. The neighbour hood is very old and lively and therefore very authentic. I loved it!
Then you have the famous French concession area in walking distance, as well as numerous shops and restaurants.
Nathalie made everything possible to garantee a perfect stay. She was not there when I arrived, but prepared everything in a manner, that I just could not get lost. Furthermore she seems to be constantly "online", and always ready to help. When we met one day she even brought medication for me without me asking her to do so. I just mentioned that I had a cold.
She is very caring and it`s fun to have her as a host.

  • We had an amazing time at Zen Studio. Perfectly clean, fresh and prepared with love and design taste of Nath.
Thank you, Nath, for the sincere care and advices - we explore some places that we hardly could find without you advices.

Neighbourhood of the studio is amazing, authentic, safe and close to everything you need during you stay in Shanghai or relax stay, or business, or short run - away.

but the most important thing was - feeling of the comfortable stay and warm in touch and help with Nath.

  • The studio was lovely and exactly as described, and Nath was a lovely and considerate host. She was always proactive in following up and always responded promptly to email communication. We were particularly impressed that she provided extra information about the area, including restaurants, cafés and shops. Thanks Nath!
