Large and bright for up to 10 persons, direct lines to tour eiffel & notre dame, with extra studio for groups of more than 6 persons. it's currently being refurbished with new sofas and special mobile internet ! so look at the last review!
Are you coming to visit the most beautiful city ? If you need space to relax after your long day, this is a quiet and bright place... And you will always find drinks ready in the fridge !
Now I have added special mobile internet that you can have all around town which is practical to keep in touch for your iphones or ipads!
My place is less than 10 minutes from Montparnasse, the Theatre district in Paris, and home to the famous 'crêperies' from Britanny...
Not the typical apartment, it has much space and a veranda on trees so that you do not feel in a bottle and can enjoy your stay. No "vis à vis" allows you to feel intimate in this very open space.
Separated cuisine, with all mod cons, separate toilet, a bathroom with... a bath :)
The appartment is in the 14th disctrict, near to Cité Universitaire, the Student District in Paris. It allows you to take the "métro", bus, RER B - direct from both airports, and even the brand new Tram - the nearby stops are : Alesia, Porte d'Orléans, and Cité U, with lines 4, B, Buses 28 direct to Champs Elysées, 38 - direct to Notre Dame, and other lines (62, 88...)
Personally I prefer the Bus : when traveling underground you don't see much in Paris! Plus less people know the lines so it's often less crowded. (information on buses : (email hidden) ) - try also the "public bike" : velib - or ask me about it...
If you need anything else, Internet Wifi in the flat will help you find adresses, timetables, restaurants...
otherwise... Don't hesitate to ask me!
I provide an extra studios for groups of more than 6 persons
For groups of 1 or 2 persons I usually give the studo instead of the larger flat, but I can upgrade you on request
Laundry in the (website hidden) on request.
I can also provide/arrange mobile phones, private touristic flights, and a range of services at good value...
Interaction with Guests
I try to welcome every guests myself when the schedule is possible, otherwise I arrange you to get the keys and codes and I am available to explain anything
in case I am not in town, my cleaner will be available to take care of any problem
we will make sure you have a nice stay !
it's very quiet, typical parisian life, although just two blocks away is the vibrant hub of POrte d'Orléans, and 5 minutes from there is the Montparnasse Area with all its restaurants and theatre it is the prime cultural place of true parisians...
From the airports you can take direct RER B
exit at Denfert line 4 or Cité U (you can walk from Cité U or take a tram to porte d'Orléans)
[from the airport as it's 10€ per head a large group my consider taking a big taxi that is just an advice]
from the street you can find bus 28 to Champs Elysées & Tour Eiffel, and 38 to QUartier Latin, Notre Dame and Louvres
Bus is slightly slower but a good idea as you can see the streets of Paris !
At porte d'Orléans you will find line 4, the Tram (which you can take to go more quickly to chateau de Versailles, change at Pont du Garigliano for RER C) and LOTS of buses as it is a major hub and meeting point.
Other Things to Note
Now I provide mobile internet for you to have in town. Use moderately as I pay for data, but it's good to have in hand so you can email me or plan your trips!
Hello - Welcome to this great flat !
For Elctrical bill & energy concerns : do not leave the heat on when you are not in the flat
Also, do not leave a window open when you are hearing the flat
The flat is very well isolated and practically does not need heat unless outside is freezing/snowing. Although I can understand guest may wan a very warm environment, any indication of wasting energy while not there or while heating outside brava use of windows open is unacceptable.
So far, I have always welcomed people with a fridge full of drinks and food available. The basic rule is : if you finish something please buy some more... of course, there will be no accountant - so just feel it's like family is receiving you ! It has always worked so far, I find people who trust me can also be trusted!!
Also, please do not smoke inside...
One last thing for booking : if you book for one people, I consider that you book only one room, please book for 2 if you take the whole flat!
Enjoy your stay!!
As for access, there are 2 codes I will give you, both by email, and written, once you have made a reservation...
I will also give you wifi access... a clean pair of sheets, and towels...
The library is for you to use, as the washing machine, which helps when coming from afar, as you can wash your clothes and not bring everything...
Please take care of the carpet, the walls, don't make any stains... and, generally, leave the flat in good order, as I will have made sure it is in perfect condition when you arrive...
David was very nice host. He had agreed to our request of paying half thru airbnb and half in cash when we are in Paris.
Overall the stay is pretty decent. Good location with supermarkets nearby. However it is abit small for the 5 of us. Recommend to have 4 person max.
David made our stay very comfortable and went above and beyond to make certain we were satisfied. The apartment was excellent, clean, roomy and comfortable! The neighborhood feels safe and full of locals not touristy at all. A very short walk to the metro and you will be anywhere you want in the city. All the homey conveniences were at hand and would happily stay at David's house again!
Everything was as we expected. We were a group of 6 and although the place was quite small and far from the tourist areas we felt like at home. Price-quality ratio is good. The host was also very nice and flexible, can recommend him and the place as well.
David was very professional. He communicated consistently and was detailed in letting me know how to get into the apartment and locating the key, etc.
Positives: The booking process here was very smooth and it was very quick & easy to communicate with David. He also was very understanding in waiting for us through to 1 AM to show us everything particularly to do with parking the car as it was a little tricky. The flat is very close to the metro & buses so easy access is certainly not a problem and also plenty of access to shops & restaurants. The kitchen has all you need if you fancy cooking. Negatives: The flat isn't as advertised anymore. Perhaps due to deterioration with time from guests, it does not look like what the pictures show anymore. Whilst it's still probably fine for backpackers/groups of friends who don't really care about that etc. if you are after a more homey/cozy kind of place this isn't it. Firstly the carpet is very stained throughout , various objects aren't in working order (such as wardrobe foutons) and the place is really cold and gets super cold if you are out for the day and David's rules do not allow heating on while you are out. Secondly there is no working foutons in the livingroom at all so this place is really for two people only. It is only one broken black fouton that you can't open because it's broken, and a small floor matress. So whilst it is very comfortable for the two people sleeping in the bedroom, for the persons/s meant to be in the livingroom there is no facility but a thin matress on the floor. Also David says he will welcome you with a variety of food and drink - which obviously you should replace if you finish anything - there was only two eggs and one beer in the fridge. So whilst it is normal for people to buy their own food and drink ofcourse, there's no need to mis-advertise especially coming from a long trip we were hoping to find a little something there until we get to the shop. That's what the description says after all. On departure, David didn't provide clear instructions on where to leave the keys and he became a little annoyed texting me that I had made a mistake and left it in the wrong letter box when I should have left it in the flat - but without locking it, how?! And lastly, we were half way to London and David started texing asking what we did with his bonsai tree and whether we dropped it out the window, which we later concluded his cleaner had in fact taken... Conclusion: The flat was well located and is good for backpackers/groups of friends looking for somewhere to throw their luggage and sleep in for a couple of hours here and there. But not as a cozy/homey place in Paris where you'd go as a couple/with family. Also David was very hospitable to begin with, but felt like he jumped to conclusions quickly at departure without checking the facts...
