Foscari apartment is located in the heart of the old town center of Venice, in the art and culture district of Dorsoduro (with the Accademia di Belle Arti and the Università Ca' Foscari), the most exclusive in the city (where VIPs from all over the world have purchased houses, in addition to the most illustrious Venetians). In a few minutes from the hotel on foot you can reach the Basilica dei Frari, the Scuola di San Rocco, the Accademia di Belle Arti, the Rialto bridge and even Piazza San Marco can be reached in just 15 minutes on foot.
In fact, the motorboat stop of S. Tomà (in the middle of the Grand Canal) is reachable in five minutes on foot.
Please notice in Venice city tax is euro 1,5 per person per day which has to be paid by cash only on your arrival.
Towels and linens included, internet available for euro 5 per day.

Great location and price for travellers on a budget, with plenty of room for a whole family. Would definitely stay here again if I return to Venice.
Everything was great and Silivia was a perfect host
We had a most comfortable stay at Silvia's very well-situated apartment on Fondamento Taglia Pietra near San Toma. It fronted on to a charming corner with a view to a bridge over a busy back-canal next to the Foscari University. Barges unload on the pavement outside, taxi launches ply up and down and gondolas full of Chinese tourists wave as they quietly glide by. All this can be observed from the big windows of the twin bedroom (which inevitably gets a bit of noise from the activity), the large kitchen and the bathroom. On the opposite bank is the garden of a big building (currently being used as a builders' yard during a big construction project). The back, double-bedroom and the commodious sitting room have many large, double-glazed and well-functioning windows (with mosquito-net blinds) overlooking tranquil back-gardens...very quiet if you like a lie-in or an afternoon nap! In the short time we were there we couldn't really do justice to the apartment's enormous space and amenities. It can easily accommodate 4-5 people (although they'd have to take turns with the single bathroom). For a longer stay the large kitchen and dining room would be well-appreciated by those who enjoy cooking at home and experimenting with all the lovely produce available from the wonderful fish and vegetable markets at the Rialto There are some stalls too in the nearby Campo Santa Margarita - as well as many lively cafes and bars.
Silvia was very helpful, with good communications during the planning of our short trip, also on our arrival - meeting us to show us the way to the apartment, explaining things and recommending local places to eat. She very kindly allowed a couple of our friends to stay overnight without extra charge to share in our anniversary celebrations. All in all, in spite of incessant rain, a memorable Venetian experience. Thank you Silvia! We hope to return before too long. Jackie & Michael
We've had a great (though rather short) stay here. The apartment helped us to feel the spirit of Venice, it has its own style. It's very spacious, really comfortable. The antique and modern furniture are combined with a good taste, and we were impressed by the book collection in the bedroom. There was everything we needed, even coffee and tea. Some of the windows look at the canal, others - at the backyard. The location is good, all the central sights are in walking distance (if you don't get lost in the narrow alleys, but that's Venice). The waterbus stop is several minutes of walking away.
Silvia was very mindful, gave us valuable advice on the details of arriving to Venice. Despite our late arrival, she organized our check-in. I don't know what we would do if she hadn't warned us about aqua alta and we hadn't bought gumboots:) Thank you, Silvia!
The only downside was wi-fi - it was frankly slow despite being paid-for.
So, all in all, we're glad we chose this place for our stay in Venice.
This flat is in a great spot in Venice. It was incredibly roomy and a good value for such an expensive city. The kitchen is very roomy and functional. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was nice and warm. The internet is a hotspot card, and is limiting, so no big files or demands are possible. Venice is an amazing place, and something everyone should see at least once in their life. We went to an opera at La Fenice, and highly recommend it!!
We had a lovely stay in Silvia's apartment next to Ca' Foscari! The location was excellent— we were just about right between the Rialto and Accademia bridges. The apartment itself was very cozy indeed, and was more than spacious enough for the four of us. Silvia was a gracious host, who solved tiny problems right away when they surfaced. She provided us with a map and offered some very helpful suggestions for our stay in Venice.
Huge, well located and well equipped apartment.
Tomaso was very kind. We met him at the vaporetto station and he gave us lots of advice.
What was negative was the Internet service. They charge you an extra fee (5 euros per day) and it didn´t work for half that time (or it worked but it was very slow) and they didn´t offer us a refund, which would have been fair.
Very large, well-heated apartment in the Dorsoduro area, quiet and very local. We had a wonderful stay at Silvia's apartment. The neighborhood is filled with quaint stores and little cafes, 10-15 minute walk to all the major sights and even to Piazzale Roma where we took the bus to the airport. Thank you for hosting us, will definitely try to make our way back!
