so to speak:
Many years ago a people, coming from the north, called barbarians, and arrived in northern Italy, the people of those lands, fled. Some of them went where there was water, where they found many small islands and settled.
Venice was born.
Venice is like a sudoku.
Sum up the campi, the calli, the fonteghi, the Venetian people and then ... day after day, you find the solution, the final design.
My island, Lido, beautiful is going to the beach, and then in the afternoon to go to Venice and live the city without the mass of tourists during the day.
what it means to live in Lido. means taking the bike and go for the embankments, the road along the sea without machines. It means going to the beach. The Lido is beautiful always, in winter there is the sea of winter and summer is the apotheosis of the island.
When Thomas Mann from his hotel Des Bains, Venice had to go, he had to take the gondola and his little trip lasted more than an hour.

Interaction with Guests
I can tell you my city. usually I'm either at work or in my room. I beg you to use the house as if it were your own home, and for the period that you are my guests, this is your home.
I'm warning you that I live in the apartment.
The neighborhood is very quiet, in front of the house is the beautiful Venetian lagoon. Near the house there are many shops and pizzeria where you can eat typical Venetian food. Everything is very human.
Every 10 minutes to reach the bus that takes you to the boats. from house to St. Mark 25 minutes a beautiful lagoon. The sea is a 5-minute walk away. The Lido, my island is an oasis of peace.
Other Things to Note
I hope to have my guests and I guarantee a wonderful holiday.

Gabriella is an energetic and amiable host. She was very helpful in choosing ferries, destinations, etc. We experienced a very intense heat wave while in Lido/Venice and thank goodness the bedroom has an air conditioner! We were very comfortable in the large bedroom. Gabriella provides a nice breakfast every morning and it is really adorable how she sets it all up every morning according to your schedule. The apartment has a great view of San Marco Island and is very close to everything you could want, especially the beach. There is a free beach (just ask her where) but we were willing to dish out €15-30 for an umbrella and a couple of chairs. The least expensive beach we found was the second to last one going south, with the blue striped umbrellas. It did not have a name that we saw, but the entrance is a cute beachy restaurant with a lot of bamboo and palms in the front (can't recall name). You must take the bus to and from the ferry dock. We had bikes with us so we got there in less than 15 minutes. By the way, if you don't have your own, definitely rent bikes and ride around the island.
Gabriella is generous and always concerned with your comfort. I would have loved to have had some time to sit and chat with her since she knows a lot about Venice and Lido. It was so hot while we were there that we were all sort of schlumped out in the evenings and we retreated to the cooler bedrooms. Thank you, Gabriella, for having us, and your English is very good!
Gabriella made my partner and I feel at home immediately - starting with a very welcoming cup of tea upon our arrival. We had a delicious breakfast laid out for us each morning. Initially we were concerned that the location was not close enough to the heart of Venice, but as it turned out it was wonderful to come "home" to a quiet, lovely neighborhood at the end of each day. We also felt it was a real opportunity to meet lots of local people rather than just other tourists.
Gabriella was very helpful and made us feel very welcome, the room is cool and comfortable despite the heat, the bed very good! We had a lovely breakfast laid out for us each morning and Gabriella went out of her way to get nice things for us to eat. The house looks out on to the sea and it was wonderful to sit and watch the sunset before bed. There is also a very good restaurant around the corner. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay with Gabriella, and only wish we could have stayed longer.
Gabriella is just one of the warmest, friendliest people I have met on my trip. The room is beautiful and comfortable. Staying with her was a great experience.
