On the schinkel in the Amserdan South area, lies our houseboat. We live here with three people and have each our own room. We share a large living room a kitchen and our bathroom. And of course we have a back area to enjoy the water and the sun.
On the schinkel in the Amserdan South area, lies our houseboat. We live here with three people and have each our own room. We share a large living room a kitchen and our bathroom. And of course we have a back area to enjoy the water and the sun. This is the truly unique thing about our place! When one of the roommates is out of town, we rent out our extra room. This means the other roommates will also be there, when you're visiting.
We have a neighborhood supermarket which is a 3 min walk from the house boat. There are more little neighborhoodshops and restaurants on hoofddorpplein. This is also where you can take the tram to the city centre. The Vondelpark is at a 10 min walk and is a great way to walk into the centre.
Our place is quiet and peaceful yet 10 minutes away from the museum district, leidseplein and the canals.
Great place to kick it when in Amsterdam!
As a guest you have access to the bathroom, livingroom, kitchen and our outdoors area.
Interaction with Guests
We usually go our own way. We have busy jobs and unfortunately its not vacation time for us! The surroundlings of our house sometimes puts you in that mood, its very relaxing. We definitely are available for guidance and questions on what to do! And we love friendly conversation and meeting new people.
Our neighborhood is very homely, lot of people with families. It feels like your outside of the city, because its very peacefull, but whith 15 min your in the busy city centre. The best of both worlds!
The tram and bus stops at 5 min walking distance. Biking is the best way to get around in Amsterdam, I siggest you rent one. If available you can also borrow ours!
We don't smoke in the house and love it if you'll tidy up after yourself, other than that everything goes!
The host made us feel very welcome gave us advice on what to see and how to get back to the airport. Overall had a great interaction with the host.
It was very easy to communicate with Pauline and her roommates.
They were really kind and the houseboat was as you see it in the pictures.
The location is convenient as it is only 5 minutes from the tram that takes you to Leidesplein and Centraal Station.
I would go back again.
It was very quiet, comfortable and uncomplicated. Just a palce to feel good.
Thanks for the nice stay, Hense
Thank yo very much. It was wonderful vacations. Very cosy home and beautiful environment around. Swans, ducks, parrots.
Like you staying in country being almost in city center.
Very friendly Emma and Emily (Paulin was out). Next visit to Amsterdam will try to visit you again.
We had a lovely stay! A light and cozy room for us on an overall very pretty house boat. We didn't really get to see Paulien and her flatmate, but she shared tips and informations about Amsterdam with us and made us feel welcome. Getting to the boat following her directions was the easiest thing ever. It was the perfect place for us to stay at and relax (a little out of the city centre), but still central enough for a lot of exploring! Thanks so much!
OK, my first AirBNB trip, and I choose this offering mainly based on available feedback. So, the good points:
-absolutely quiet, with public transport (tram 2) within easy walking distance.
-easy communication with Paulien, WiFi available, perfect
-yes, the room is suitable, large, fits two adults. Shower/bathroom are shared, but indeed very clean!
I must write something negative, but apart from the ladder being very steep and not suitable for seniors and recent knee surgery victims, I can't think of anything.
Although Paulien wasn't in for the weekend the other girls living there were very helpful. This is a beautiful and novel respite from the hustle and bustle of centrum. Perfect for couples, rent bikes for quick access to and from center. Trams don't go til late, night bus is a bit pricey.
