The HackerHome Network
Whether you're new to the Valley, bored with your current housing or need a transient place... I would like to help. When you reserve with me, you'll have instant friends and be part of a network of 10+ homes in the Bay Area.

The space

Spacious ranch style home with a U-shape floor plan with communal spaces in the front and sleeping quarters in the back

3 bedrooms - no private rooms at this location
4 full bathrooms
3+ work areas - communal and private work spaces!

The females have a bathroom just for themselves.

Guest access

All utilities are included and free WIFI.

Clean linens/bedding, pillow and blanket are provided.

Why would someone say light cooking? Home prepped meals really warms up the house and it's encouraged.

Interaction with guests

It's a house full of people & different schedules. So please use ear plugs if necessary. If you're a light sleeper or can't sleep on a single mattress, this may not be the right place for you.

We are a very communal/respectful group and strive to provide space for everyone to work and hangout. Remember that work, musical instruments and books take precedence over the television.

Other things to note

More than one suitcase? Consult with me prior to making your reservation.

Respectful Housing for Women
Females in a separate room. If you'd like to stay in the girls' room, please check with me on availability before reserving. If you don't have a preference, then just make your reservation.

The Airbnb cleaning fee is to make sure you have a clean bed upon arrival and not to clean up after you. All spaces are shared, so please be mindful of picking up after yourself.

I've never met Vic but there was a guy who was responsible for the place. The house seemed smaller than it looks on pictures (which are 4 years old already). I found out that my sheets were not fresh. I texted Vic about that (it was late night already) and he apologized for that and explained how to take fresh ones. It seems other people's sheets were fresh and my experience was rather unusual. The next day, Vic refunded a cleaning fee for me. Cleaners come once a week and do a good job. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at HackerHome. It's a good place for those who don't mind meeting and co-living with other people from around the world. This place was quite even though it accommodated a small crowd. Proximity to the Caltrain station is one of the best advantages of this house.

HackerHome was excellent as always. It's nice to come home to a room full of happy people after a long day of work.

My husband was staying there and had to cut the trip short and fly home because he fell ill. I emailed and texted Vic about the situation from Seattle, and he was amazing! He was very understanding and even offered my husband a ride to the airport, which was really above and beyond what other hosts would do. My husband said everything looked just like the pictures, and he really liked the environment. It was the perfect location for him to access Stanford University's library, where he spent his time. If my husband returns to Palo Alto, he will definitely be staying there! Thanks Vic!

I had a wonderful time here. It was everything the description says it is, and I met some really great people while I was at the house. Will definitely be back.

Vic was super nice and helpful. He kept the house stocked with basics, from laundry detergent to bikes, and was great about organizing Hacker Homes events. The only downside was that it was somewhat expensive for a packed-in space, but the area is hard to beat (near to restaurants, bars, bus stops, dry cleaners and a big Safeway).
