The mews is a short distance from both knightsbridge (piccadilly lines) and South Kensington (Circle, district, and piccadilly lines) Both are in the underground zone 1. To travel on the underground and busses you will need an Oyster card obtainable from any underground station for a deposit of £3 plus your travel amount (£10-40) that you want to put onto the card. You can also buy paper ticket but this is much more expensive.
Bus routes 14, 74, and C1 stop on the Brompton Rd outside Lords supermarket, almost underneath the flat westbound or opposite for eastbound.
Right on the doorstep of the mews you will find bars, restaurant and shops. Lively Beauchamp place has many choices of restaurants and shops to suit every budget. You can also find supermarket marks and spencer there. Beyond this is the food hall in Harrods.
Natural history museum, Victoria and Albert museum as well as Science museums are only 10 minutes walk from the property. Hyde park is within 15 min reach by foot.
The pay and display car bay is right outside the property and there are many more around the area. It cost ca £3-4/h to park in the meter space. Check for details on the meters to see the days and times when you have to pay. You can also find Barclays bike rental station across the main road on the left of Brompton square.
Please note that there is a cash deposit of 20 GBP to be made at the end of your stay for cleaning purposes.
The appartment is located very conveniently, coming from Heathrow on the Picadilly line, so no changing with luggage. Checking in was a bit complicated, although I had clearly indicated my time of arrival nobody answered the door bell, and no reaction on the phone from Jules. Finally I called flat no 7 and the door opened, and I got the keys from a friend of Jules, without any explanation at all. And indeed the lighting of the corridors are a bit complicated, so is opening the second door in the staircase inside. Anyway I got in and later Jules called several times to apologize, which was really nice of her (problems with her mobile phone).
The room is very beautifull, it has a very good and comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. The area is fabulous: museums (late opening till 10pm on Friday in the Victoria and Albert), Harrods, Hyde Park and Kensington palace: all around the corner. I was in London for a congress and it was so much nicer to stay in this room than in a hotel. Jules was also very friendly allowing me to leave the luggage in the appartment on the day of my departure, as I was having a late flight.
I would really recommend this beautiful room to others, however if you can't easily walk, the amount of steps might be a disadvantage as there is no elevator. Overall: a very, very positive experience in London, thank you so much Jules.
My parents have been there for 3 days they loved the area but they was not really happy with the welcoming in the appartement. Someone came just to give them the keys and did not explain anything to them and also we was quiet surprised when Jules asked me, to tell my parents to let 20 pounds in cash for the cleaning whereas it was not explained properly in the add ( she specified it since I told her) that the cleaning was not included and also because the carpet was obviously not clean.
Jules' apartment is a perfect Jewel. Great location, clean and efficient well decorated. It was ideal for my stay in London. The stairs, while there are a few flights, are not a drawback. A little exercise won't hurt anyone :-)
I would stay here again on my next trip to London.
We have had a lovely time in this room. It's a very cousy room, very well decorated and just about the right size for a short let.The bathroom is also fantastic, very clean and user friendly. Needless to say, it's a great location! The only less positive aspect is the amount of stairs until you reach the room. But that does not in any way jeopardize the quality of the room and of the experience.
Jules' studio boasts an outstanding location in Kensington, minutes away from museums and shops. It's nicely decorated and one can see great attention has been given to details. The only downturns are the 5 flights of stairs (actually 80 steps) and the lack of wifi connection.
This studio in London is tucked in a building in a very nice neighborhood. It's very close to two stops in the tube and very close to Harrod's and other shopping. We found it pretty convienent to get around and were very happy with how clean and interesting the place was decorated! The radiators were quick to warm up the room and the closets fit all of our bags. Bed was very comfortable for two people and it's a quiet location. Only thing that would've made it even better would be WiFi, but like Jules pointed out, right next door is a cafe with good breakfast and free WiFi.
It is a great place at a great location. The place is very clean and pleasant location to stay. everything was well as mentioned by the owner
Although we never met Jules she was incredibly helpful and took no time at all replying to any questions.
The apartment is perfectly located to all the major shops in the area. It is very clean and charming.
We had a wonderful time there and there is very little noise as it is a street back from the main roads.
Jules even bought me a television on my request. How kind is that!!! What more could we ask for.
This apartment has everything you need to enjoy London at its best.
Book it you won't be disappointed.
The apartment as pictured is gorgeous, perfect for couple, excellent location, would stay again anytime in London, didn't meet jules but her friend was polite & flexible to meet us, 2 thumbs up :)
We spent three wonderful days in this flat which is very comfortable, including all facilities (even Nespresso coffee!) the location is the best and the price fare enough for what it offers. As for Jules, we left with the best impressions! She is very polite and gentle, also very helpful. Thanks Jules, hope to see u again soon!
