Interaction with Guests
This being my second season as an airbnb host, I must say, I just love meeting all of the wonderful guests that I have been fortunate to share my tranquil, and lovely spot with!
If I am around, I would be more than happy to answer any questions, or give you ideas, and directions to places of interest. Perhaps we can even share in a nice glass of wine! I do live on the property in a yurt as well. I am usually always accessible via text, or phone.
* I totally respect my guests privacy, and need for their "alone" time. Please understand that I do wander through the property, tending to my gardens, etc, but will only socialize with guests, if they so desire!
My neighborhood is a quiet rural spot on a country dirt road with great, but barely ever seen neighbors. Out here everyone is busy tending to their property, be it farm animals, gardening, or just doing all the chores that are required living a rural life! If you listen you can hear the horse whinny at the landowner next door, or the sheep herd (baaa) in the back of the land! The area is teaming with wildlife. At night, the abundance of stars against the dark night sky, will amaze you! Fireflies magically illuminate the summer nights! And when it's the frogs mating season, which are abundant along the ponds edge, their chorus will sing you to sleep!
Great sunsets as well!
I love where I live, when there is something needed the neighbors are always ready and willing to lend a hand! And when we can we get together for some socializing, we all catch up with each others lives. Out here we respect each others privacy, but think nothing of walking up to each others door and saying hello, or asking for a hand!
Rural country life just doesn't support public transportation unfortunately (a downside), but we are not far from many conveniences accessible by car, walk, or get on a bike!
Other Things to Note
I will do everything I can to make your stay comfortable...I supply towels, cotton sheets, flannel in the colder months, and biodegradable natural soap and shampoo for the outdoor shower as well.(Please only use biodegradable/natural products while using shower, as it does drain directly into the ground.)
Also...In the summer, there are plenty of fresh herbs, and mint everywhere for your use. In season, berries as well! I do grow organic vegetables, and am always happy to share in the harvest!
* Minimum stay is 2 nights, but please ask if needing one night...
* * I am also a Reiki practitioner. If interested in booking a session, feel free to contact me to set up an appointment, or any questions you may have!
Makes a wonderful surprise gift as well...
*This is a non smoking property
*I would totally appreciate it if you would separate any recyclables from trash, and if you have vegetable scraps I can compost those as well! There is a ceramic compost pail in the cabin for food scraps (please, no meat, or cheese in compost)!
* Please take all leftover food with you when you leave.
*Please refrain from using OFF, or any DEET products on the property, as this is highly toxic when sprayed, as well as when using outdoor shower.
I have lemon/Eucalyptus essential oil in the cabin for your use.
The outdoor shower is supplied with natural biodegradable soap (Dr. Bronners), as well as shampoo...I would appreciate it if you would only use these, as the water does drain right to the ground!
*I am passionate in taking care of the land in a sustainable and respectful way, and I ask that you are mindful as well :)
*No pets allowed unless contacting me prior as there are too many other animals here
*Also, only toilet paper in the compost toilet outhouse!
*Feminine products, etc... there is a trash can in there for disposal. ( I know many are unfamiliar with compost toilets)!
*Please do not feed the fish in the pond, or any of the wildlife on the property.
Thank you so much for your consideration, and enjoy your stay!!
This cabin is exactly as described, and the decor is what we really enjoyed about the place. Victoria is beyond amazing and she provided us with everything we needed and more. We were able to even get fresh farm eggs from her neighbors next door. So nice! One thing to note though, she does have 6 cats and one of them really enjoys to linger around the cabin, so if you are severely allergic to cats (like me) it's something to consider! The cat is extremely friendly and affectionate, but it's hard when you are allergic. Overall, great experience!
Victoria was an amazing host! She also has amazing shampoo which I plan on purchasing as soon as possible. Jerry is the sweetest cat (next to my own) and he was gracious enough to cuddle us to sleep! The cottage is everything I have ever dreamed of having in my own cottage someday. Victoria thought of everything! I aspire to her level of interior design skills. There is a hammock on the screened in porch that I fell asleep on in the rain along with a beautiful bed for relaxing. The coffee is perfect with the French press. The pond that the cottage overlooks has the perfect amount of lily pads. My favorite parts would have to be: 1- the relaxing sound of rain on the roof with all of the windows opened 2- the outdoor shower (it is so much fun!) And 3- Jerry! We were visiting my family so the trip was really hectic but this was the perfect relaxing getaway when we needed it! Thanks so much Victoria and Jerry!
We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend staying at Victoria's cottage. The sounds of nature were so peaceful day and night. We enjoyed the cats (mostly Jerry) and the "clowns". The weather was absolutely perfect for the two nights we spent in the cottage. We had a fire, grilled our dinner on the bbq, and ate our meals outdoors next to the pond. I couldn't dream up a place more serene. The outdoor shower was such a nice bonus. The bed was so cozy and the details in the cottage were so adorable! We would love to come back in the fall experience another perfect weekend retreat. Also, Victoria is one of the friendliest, kindest hosts we have ever had the experience of meeting :)
My girlfriend and I had the best time celebrating our 2nd year anniversary at the cabin! We loved the animals wandering around the house (we miss Jerry, the cat, already), Victoria was such a great host and the cabin is just beautiful. This trip was one of the best I've ever taken. We definitely want to come back!
Victoria's sweet cabin is set in a beautiful location, tastefully decorated, and despite being rustic, has all the necessary amenities. There is an additional and more private cabin on the property as well. Both are incredibly charming. Victoria was very communicative, responsive, and flexible, even adjusting our stay a few days to avoid bad weather. We were very grateful and had a lovely stay!
This was a much needed retreat and we could not have been more pleased with the experience. Victoria was so sweet and generous. She gave us veggies! The space was totally beautiful. The environment was serene and totally busting at the seams with positivity. Her description and pictures were very accurate. I sincerely hope to be back soon and for much longer. Take advantage of this place! It made me and my husband feel really chilled out and happy.
We had good communication with Victoria who which made our arrival easy and welcoming. The cabin is just as pictured and described -- quaint, charming, idyllic, magical -- in a beautiful rural setting of rolling hills.
The cabin was clean and comfortable, and there were several places to sit -- indoors and out -- to enjoy a cup of coffee or a cold drink, to read or talk, or simply to take in the immense natural beauty of the setting. Though Victoria's yurt is nearby, we had a comfortable sense of privacy, and the cats and guinea fowl made us feel at home.
We had a couple of interesting, friendly chats with Victoria and she brought us some fresh-baked, vegan carrot cake on our last evening there. The weather cooperated, and our stay couldn't have been better!
