Sweet cozy cabin overlooking a beautiful pond in a convenient, Saratoga, Vermont, Lake George...but quiet country location. The cabin is a bit rustic with pretty vintage touches and a relaxing screened in porch! A nice retreat from the bustling world, be it a couple, or single person!

The Space

The cabin is quaint and very relaxing. The space has a microwave, one burner electric hot plate, small fridge, electric kettle, french press coffee pot, toaster, pots/pans, and wonderful espresso/cappucino machine available by request There is also a retro vintage radio. I do provide basic kitchen items as well. There is also an outdoor propane grill.

There is no indoor plumbing, but I do supply fresh well water in a water crock and their is a spigot outside. I also have an outdoor shower area with an on demand propane heater to warm up the water!
There is a spring fed lake 5 minute drive up the road you can access.
I do live in a rural area and on a dirt road...the area is beautiful, but this is a cross between camping,
with a few more creature comforts! There is electricity and a wood stove as well, and will supply firewood if needed. There is no wi fi or internet, but a fairly decent signal for att and verizon cell service. I do have internet up at my yurt, if needed.

NOTE: I do have 5 friendly cats that wander the property, and have been in the cabin (in case of allergies), also I have two wandering Guinea Fowl (the clowns)!...that roost
in the tree over the screen porch ( they are quite amusing but can be loud at times, they call them the farmer's watchdogs!
Please don't be alarmed by the occasional presence of flying pests, it is a cabin on wooded country property!

Guest Access

There is an outdoor envirolet compost toilet/outhouse for guests use, complete with an antique stained glass window! Guests may also have access to my yurt bathroom and for showering as well. (If the other isn't comfortable for you)
There is a separate driveway as well.

WINTER NOTES: As one might imagine,
winter access is a bit different. Parking is at top of driveway (easy walk), outdoor shower not available (freezing pipes), but use of my indoor yurt shower is! Wood is provided for woodstove, but cabin can get chilly in the coldest temps, but does warm up toasty when stove is going! Flannel sheets and very warm layered bedding makes for cozy sleeping! Also provide warm slippers.
Winter has it's own special appeal for the more rugged or adventurous! Still it can be quite romantic, or a great place for some solitude!
Winter clear night skies are something to experience!

Interaction with Guests

This being my second season as an airbnb host, I must say, I just love meeting all of the wonderful guests that I have been fortunate to share my tranquil, and lovely spot with!
If I am around, I would be more than happy to answer any questions, or give you ideas, and directions to places of interest. Perhaps we can even share in a nice glass of wine! I do live on the property in a yurt as well. I am usually always accessible via text, or phone.
* I totally respect my guests privacy, and need for their "alone" time. Please understand that I do wander through the property, tending to my gardens, etc, but will only socialize with guests, if they so desire!

The Neighborhood

My neighborhood is a quiet rural spot on a country dirt road with great, but barely ever seen neighbors. Out here everyone is busy tending to their property, be it farm animals, gardening, or just doing all the chores that are required living a rural life! If you listen you can hear the horse whinny at the landowner next door, or the sheep herd (baaaa) in the back of the land! The area is teaming with wildlife, and at night you won't see more stars against the dark sky! Fireflies magically illuminate the summer nights!
Great sunsets as well!
I love where I live, when there is something needed the neighbors are always ready and willing to lend a hand! And when we can we get together for some socializing, we all catch up with each others lives. Out here we respect each others privacy, but think nothing of walking up to each others door and saying hello, or asking for a hand!

Getting around

Rural country life just doesn't support public transportation unfortunately (a downside), but we are not far from many conveniences accessible by car, walk, or get on a bike!

Other Things to Note

I will do everything I can to make your stay comfortable...I supply towels, cotton sheets, and biodegradable natural soap and shampoo for the outdoor shower as well.(Please only use biodegradable/natural products while using shower, as it does drain directly into the ground.)
Also...In the summer, there are plenty of fresh herbs, and mint everywhere for your use. In season berries, as well! I do grow organic vegetables, and am always happy to share in the harvest!

  • My girlfriend and I stayed at this magical place recently, and I don't think we could have had a happier few days! The cabin with the perfect little pond was spectacular, every detail of it thought out and lovingly created. Victoria herself is such a warm, welcoming human being. From showing us around her own home, a gorgeous yurt, to leaving flowers and kale from her garden and fresh eggs in the fridge, we could not have asked for a better host. She even sent us home with catnip for our cat! In essence, it was the ideal weekend, and we are so looking forward to visiting this home away from home again soon! This was the perfect introduction to the Airbnb community, thanks so much Victoria xoxo!

  • Victoria is wonderful host, very kind. She cooked me dinner the first night I arrived. It was so nice to chat with her, outside on the porch by the pond. The experience was enchanted, I felt that i was part of a poem. The cabin is very comfortable and relaxing. With basic essential, a small kitchen and a breeze scream in porch. The bed was very comfortable and warm. I will definitely go back!!!

  • We had a wonderful weekend at Victoria's cabin. She was incredibly accommodating about our check-in arrangements and was available to answer any questions we ran into. And the cabin itself is so, so lovely: the interior is gorgeous and very comfortable, and the view just outside the windows is about perfect. Can't beat walking out the front door and lounging in front of the pond with your morning coffee!

  • We love, love, loved Victoria's beautiful and serene cabin near the pond. She thought of everything — extra quilts for the bed, ready-to-grind coffee beans, straw hats for sunny strolls around her stunning property, badminton net and rackets. Our favorite moment was coming home late from a concert in Saratoga Springs and sitting on Victoria's wooden swing, looking up at a clear, dazzling sky, surrounded by the sounds of nature. And we were so happy to meet and chat with Victoria before we left. She gave us a tour of her vegetable garden and even dug up a few plants and herbs for us to take home for our garden.

  • When I arrived at the cabin, it was exactly what I needed - quiet, relaxing, peaceful. Very nice and humble place to be in. Bed was super warm and comfortable, couch was perfect to cuddle up and read and the outdoor shower was a nice experience as well. Victoria was a great host. Very friendly and helpful. Had a very pleasant time with her and her cats were the cutest. Kept me company at times :) I truly recommend this cabin to anyone who just wants to get away from the bustling, hectic, busy NYC Lol. Thank you so much Victoria for allowing me to experience such a beautiful time at your cabin. Can't wait to return.

  • I had a lovely stay at Victoria's little cabin. It is as quaint as the pictures show. I took a few days to do some writing and Victoria was gracious to give me space as needed or conversation when needed. Victoria has a real love for nature and works hard to keep her property as natural as possible.

  • My fiancé and I were desperate for an escape from the NYC hustle & bustle and we couldn't have picked a better place to unwind than Victoria's homey cabin. Unlike any other place we've stayed before, the cabin was comfy, and quaint, and its natural setting surrounded by trees, and a running creek was even more serene than we ever expected. Our trip was at the end of a brutal winter, so the cabin was a bit cold, but the combination of a space heater, fire place and the warmest bed you'll ever lay your head in, was more than enough to keep us warm. (Seriously, we spent most of our time in the bed, it was so cozy!) And Victoria was the loveliest host! She was flexible with our check-in and check-out times, welcomed us with a warm fire and classical music, and kept the kitchen stocked with water, coffee, and oatmeal. Before we left, she invited us into her yurt for homemade lemon scones (which were delicious) and great conversation. We plan to not only revisit Victoria's cabin, but to make it an annual trip if possible. She mentioned growing fresh blackberries and vegetables on the property, so we can't wait to come back in the warmer months to get to picking!

Thank you so much Lyndsay! I loved having you and your fiancee here and look forward to having you both stay again, sharing in some food and wonderful conversation! I'm happy you both stayed nice and warm!
Having a place that brings peace and respite from such hectic lives, is what I love about being a part of the airbnb community, and especially meeting such warm and wonderful people!

  • My wife and I needed a respite from city life and were ecstatic when we
found Victoria's cabin. It's truly a magical place, which transports you to
a more relaxed mental state. The sounds of nature are all around you during
your stay, and we felt like we were waking up every morning to a symphony
of sounds from birds and wildlife. It was so cool to have our coffee by the
pond and take in the day slowly. If you are looking for a chance to relax
and unplug from technology, this is a perfect place. We actually spent an
entire day just doing some creative brainstorming, and the cabin was an
ideal setting for us to come up with creative ideas. We will be back!

  • My boyfriend and I were fortunate enough to stay at Victoria's cabin for a weekend in March. As you read this, probably hoping for an out from the hustle and bustle of wherever you're at, I can guarantee that if you book Victoria's cabin you will escape it all. First, her property is gorgeous and well-kept. When you're not being stunned by sweeping 360 degree views of mountains and fields, you are startled by the quaint bubble of a clear stream steps from the front door. Victoria herself is a surprise for us city folks. She is welcoming and warm and ready to accommodate with anything you may need -- a fun conversation, great recommendations or even waffles. Inside the cabin, your toes will be warmed by a fire and your heart and minded rested in what was the warmest bed I have ever slept in. We enjoyed hiking through the property with our dog as much as being curled up on the comfy, worn-in love seat reading for countless hours. Book this for as long as you can because once you leave, like us, you're going to count the days until you get back.

  • I drove up to stay here with my girlfriend on a Friday night after work. I told Victoria that we wouldn't be able to arrive until around 11:30pm, to which she responded by saying no problem! However, things didn't quite work out as planned and we blew a tire. We ended up driving in at 2am and she was up to greet us with a warm fire!

The area is so beautiful, to say the least. Victoria was extremely accommodating and was the best host! The cabin is so perfect, it came with everything we needed to get set up and comfortable. The views were amazing on the ride up and down from NYC. I wish that I could have bottled the experience, because every moment was absolutely incredible. Victoria let us borrow her snow shoes and we trudged around the area, it was so cathartic. We brought our own food and cooked every meal, which was very easy with the provided utensils.

Can't wait to come back in the spring, summer and fall!
