Kuleana 309 was a delightful place to spend a week in Maui. Our hosts provided detailed driving directions and useful information on the condo and surrounding area.
The unit was exactly as described and the pictures were accurate. We were very comfortable and relaxed. The view of the pool, ocean and sunset from the lanai was breathtaking. Very nice convenience to have a kitchen (well equipped) and washer/dryer. The furniture was comfortable and easy to relax on. The bedding was also comfortable. The unit has been updated. Beautiful new tile flooring, all new bathroom, and nicely updated kitchen.
Kuleana as a whole, was peaceful, laid back, relaxing. The grounds are well kept, pleasing to look at and walk through. The beach is a one minute walk and beautiful. We enjoyed watching the turtles frolic in the water. We even saw whales breaching way out in the ocean.
There are many conveniences nearby. We used the grocery store that's just a five minute drive away. We mostly did breakfast and lunch in the condo and had dinners out. We enjoyed a traditional luau at a nearby resort (there are many to choose from). The town of Lahaina is about fifteen minutes away. Lots of restaurants and shopping.
Thank you, Jack and Andee for the opportunity to stay at your Maui condo.
We truly enjoyed ourselves and would do it again.
This is a great spot just north of all the condos of Kanapali. We really liked that it is in a smaller complex. Right from our lanai we could see whales and down at the beach there were turtles in the rocks eating.
Very well maintained property.
The pool was huge and also very clean.
Sea was rough so didn't get in but it looked wonderful.
All very good. Great location, convenient for everything West Maui has to offer. Good value. Will be back again hopefully...
A great location and a great place to stay while in Maui. We had a fantastic visit and look forward to a future return. The condo is quaint, quiet, clean and comfortable with the amenities you would expect. Don't miss the sea turtles in the cove! You can count on seeing several during the day if you're patient enough without having to snorkel. Don't pass up the opportunity to visit The Gazebo for breakfast, Miso Phat for sushi and The Fish Market for all you fresh fish desires. We miss the island already!
The photos that we took from our lanai (balcony) match the ones in the airbnb website. The ocean view is spectacular and the shore is less than 200 feet from the unit (suite 309). The resort consists of several multi-unit buildings with up to three levels per building. 309 is on the top (third) level, which affords the best ocean view. (We ate all our meals out on the lanai) It is also an end unit, which provides a little extra privacy in our opinion. The grounds of the resort are beautiful and immaculately maintained - and the swimming pool is fantastic. It is thoroughly cleaned every morning and it's much bigger than the pools are in some of the high-rise resorts in the area. We were in it every day, as were many of the resort residents. Due to the fact that the pool is so large - it never felt crowded, even with 8 - 10 people in it from time to time. The on site BBQ's were also as clean as new - the grates in fact appeared to be new - almost unused! The condo was spotlessly clean and well maintained. (The resort appears to have been built in the late 70's or early 80's) The entrance to the building that 309 is in faces onto the parking lot. We slept just fine while we were there, but there is more traffic noise from the parking lot and the street for this building than there would be from one of the buildings that is built right on the ocean front. That may be a factor for some people - it did not bother us at all.
We had several email communications with the owners, Jack and Andee, before we arrived and once while we were there. They responded quickly and provided us with all the information we needed to make the check-in quick, and to ensure that our vacation was enjoyable while we were there. Our days were spent touring all over Maui - it's an incredible place to see, so we were mostly out the door after breakfast, gone all day and back just in time for a glass of wine before retiring for the night. You can spend WAY more for accommodation in the area and get a current chef's kitchen, granite / marble counters, spa-like showers, exotic wood floors etc. - but this unit provided everything we needed for a really reasonable cost and it was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would not hesitate to recommend it to travelers seeking reasonable accommodation with high value for the vacation dollar! Thanks Jack and Andee for your part in making our Maui vacation one to remember for a lifetime!
