The house is in Newtown in a quiet street with large trees and a park. You just have to cross the park to get to King street. All the shops, the train station, the hospital and the University are 5 minutes away.
The house is very modern with a lap pool and has 3 floors, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, large open plan kitchen, lounge, laundry and garage. The bedroom has a nice comfortable queen size bed, a desk and chair, lots of wardrobe space, a fan, air/con, a TV with 160 channels and a large courtyard just for yourself to sit and sip champagne at night. It will be your own paradise in Sydney. There is 300 restaurants around the corner in Newtown and many of them at very reasonable price. I have 3 cats and one small poodle and they are the kind of animals that is no problem with people with allergies. There is wireless internet for you to use. The house is quiet and everyone gets along really well and of course you can use the pool anytime. The bathroom is share with one or two people.
If you are coming to Sydney, you can take the taxi straight to my house for about $30.00 from the airport or the train to Newtown station and I could meet you there. I have travel all my life and will help you whenever I can.
Newtown is very convenient to the Airport and Sydney's CBD. The Sydney University and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital are also within a short stroll away. Once a modest working class area, Newtown now boasts one of the most popular restaurant strips, which this city has to offer. Excellent eating from many nationalities abounds here. Best of all you don't have to be on an endless budget to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Our local area is now one of the most sought after residential addresses for Sydney-siders's. Businesses, particularly restaurants, have flocked to King Street, which is at Newtown's heart. The area is well serviced with smart shopping and is now is a far cry from its modest beginnings in the 1960's.
Culturally Newtown is like no other suburb in Sydney, or, quite possibly, Australia. Here is the highest concentration of live theater venues found anywhere in the country. Newtown is now a stimulating melting pot of society. Walking down King Street you can pass Uni students, colorful artists, same-sex couples, elderly locals, wealthy professionals and young families. Newtown's café culture offers a perfect opportunity to sit back and absorb the surrounding atmosphere. Enjoy a coffee while partaking in the favorite local pass time of people watching.
There is a refreshing air of tolerance about this place. You can tell there are no expectations made - you can be comfortable with whoever you want to be in Sydney's Newtown. You could be in the Plateau in Montreal or the Left Bank of Paris.
The buses and the train station is 5 minutes away and takes you downtown very quickly.
Respect the other tenants and be kind to the animals. You can use the kitchen for breakfast only. Be happy, enjoy the beauty of Sydney.
A fantastic place to stay. Plenty of nice cafes n restaurants around within walking distance. Elegantly decorated, and Marie has been extremely helpful to make really good recommendations of places to walk n eat.
Marie has a beautiful home and I was made to feel very welcome. The position is very close to the Prince Alfred Hospital and King street. The room was very comfortable, private and met my needs perfectly.
Nice house, perfect location but the welcome could be more friendly...
I don't understand why you would say that. I've been nothing but friendly as I always are. There is not one person, in the hundred of people who stayed at my house, that said something like that. Oh well I suppose you can't please everyone.I didn't find you guys particularly friendly either.
Marie's house is exactly as described. It is very stylish, clean and well located. Marie is a lovely host and an interesting woman.
We had an enjoyable stay at Marie's place as her room was comfortable and clean. Marie is a friendly host and she recommended eating places around Newtown to us, which was a pleasant walk from her house. We enjoyed playing with her lovable dog and cats too. Thanks Marie for hosting us!
Very nice place, and Marie was a great host. The place is well-located, close to the Newtown train station, restaurants, parks and coffee houses... The house is always lively, with various room mates and pets, all of them quite sociable (Jack the cat was my favorite). And I've never had Diderot as beside literature!
Marie was a good host who was very pleasant and happy to show me around the house and show me where everything was.
The house is well designed and it's in a nice, quiet area.

I am a French Canadian woman who came to Australia long time ago just to visit and I never left. I love traveling more than anything and love meeting new people. I fell in love with Sydney and it's people because it is a new country, it is free and the climate is semi-tropical. What's not to like?
