- Electricity cuts in Beirut for 3 hours every day, during daytime, never at night: backward every day like that (3pm to 6pm) - (12pm to 3pm) - (9am to 12pm) - (6am to 9 am) and then again the same schedule.

- I love Beirut and will be happy to give you insights, welcome and enjoy!
The house is quite big and comfortable and the neighbourhood is friendly and quiet. Celynn is very nice and helpful, a great hostess.
In October 2013, I stayed at Celynn's flat in Beirut, Karm az-Zaytoun for the second time for several weeks. I like the place for
1. the relatively quiet and airy surrounding, compared to most other places so central in Beirut
2. the aesthetic value of living in an old house (mid 20th century building I guess) in a hilly, Christian neighborhood with a view to the mountains and the see.
The facilities are appropriate for the price, i. e. simple and sometimes a bit tricky, but working. The bed is not for the princess on the pea, since the matress lies on a plank let into the bed frame.
Celynn is a committed landlord trying to take care as fast as possible of everything that's not in order. She also knows to recommend places in Beirut and Lebanon that are worth visiting.
Celynn was the ideal host--everything was in perfect order for my stay. The flat was clean, and is located in a quiet, calm location with everything you need still close by. Highly recommended.
Celine was great in having the room ready to go, showing me around the neighborhood, and it was really fantastic that she was at the apartment awaiting my arrival. Beirut was quite confusing in the beginning :).
She answered all questions promptly and was available at all times via text or email.
I would stay at Celine's place again in a heartbeat. She is a great host and really wants her guests to enjoy Beirut.
I stayed for five weeks at Celynn's apartment and had a great time there. Celynn was very hospitable, helpful and answered messages immediately whenever there were questions.
The apartment is huge and nice and especially the balcony is amazing. We spent so much time there!
The Ashrafieh neighborhood is very calm and especially the street were the apartment is located is not noisy at all. Shops where you can get everything you need are close by and I particularly recommend the Egyptian Falafel-Shop, which offers really good food.
Thank you very much Celynn! I will definitively stay again in your apartment during my next trip to lovely Beirut!
I stayed at Celynn's Flat in Beirut Ashrafiyyeh the whole March and April 2013. To me it was a beautiful, calm, cosy and spacious refuge from the hustle and bustle of Beirut and from the stressful job that I had to do there. I enjoyed being there a lot. Celynn has been an easy-going and committed host. After being informed about things out of order in the flat she would immediately become active to fix the problem. She also helped me finding my way to places in Beirut and gave advice about cultural life.
Of my flatmates during the two months every single one was likewise pleasant company and easy to coordinate with concerning the use of the kitchen, bathroom and living room.
Calm is, of course, never guaranteed in Beirut. We were lucky not to have a building site near our place. However, traffic is somewhat afar from Celynns flat, because it is situated in a dead end road. A disadvantage in the winter might be the rather old windows, from where air enters the rooms when it is cold. This, however, was the case also in other, newer built places I stayed at in Beirut before. It was also a great advantage that there are numerous shops right near the place, where just about everything is available for daily life, from food and newspapers over household equipment to phone credit. There is also an ATM at a two minutes walk from the flat and taxi services at very good conditions just around the corner. For my next stay in Beirut, I will definitely try to get a place at Celynn's again. It's highly recommendable.
Great room, great location. It's not in the center of everything but close to Sassine where you get everywhere easily, and it's a bit calmer and not as noisy as might be other parts. Also as Beirut isn't extremely big and is excellent and safe for walking doesn't take very long to walk to Gemayze and those areas, and you get to see more of the city.
There is internet but it's slow so youtube and downloading doesn't work very well if you need that. Also power cuts 3 h/ day but that's normal in Beirut and wasn't a big problem, mostly wasn't home when it was cut anyway.
Celynn was a great host, friendly, explaining the area, has made a map of the surroundings, answers you very fast if you have any questions. Can really recommend staying here because Celynn is great, you get to see other areas of Beirut as well and it's a nice appartment and it's cheaper so you can spend the money on other things in Beirut!
