Charming 100 year old craftsman home offers hospitality and comfort for your visit to Seattle.
Our home is warm, artsy and inviting, featuring both Sara's art and her collection of things gathered in her travels. Solar powered, we have cable TV, WiFi, laundry, front porch and back garden, full bath and well equipped kitchen with with yummy, organic breakfast fixings. When the garden is blooming you are welcome to forage for what's in season. On street parking is free and readily available.
This guest bedroom has a full sized bed with comfy memory foam mattress. You have full access to the upstairs kitchen, living and dining rooms and the bathroom may be shared with one other guest room.
While we respect our guests privacy we also enjoy getting to know travelers and sharing any insights we might have on the area. The family dog Pepper is around and happy to entertain you or can be scarce if you'd prefer. The host lives in a separate apartment downstairs but unless you rent the whole main floor (see other listing shown on my profile page) the common areas may be shared with one other guest room.
The Leschi neighborhood is quiet, diverse and thriving. There are lovely walks down to the lake and nearby parks, and we are within walking distance of some great restaurants, coffee shops and variety stores. We provide a walking map to acquaint you with the area. Plenty of suggestions for Seattle activities, in particular the Pike Place Market where Sara operates her crafts business.
Close to bus lines, you can get downtown Seattle in less than 20 minutes. Near light rail Mount Baker stop so easy access to and from the airport.
Sara was a great host! She has a beautiful house and I felt right at home. She is a worldly woman and I really enjoyed sharing travel stories with her! Pepper her lovely dog is great and enjoyed his company at the house. Next time I'm in Seattle Sara's Will definitely be my first choice!
Sara was an amazing host! We loved our time in Seattle and she made us feel at home. Even went out of her way to wait up for us when we had a late night arrival. Do yourself a favor and stop looking for other home stays, and book this one! You won't regret it
Sara was fabulous- her hospitality is what makes her place better than any hotel! Her home is very pleasant, beautiful and in a great location with easy access to the bus. The bed is very comfortable, I slept like I was at home :). Pepper, the dog was super friendly! I hope to stay here again if I'm in this area of Seattle!
Sara is a great host. Her home is spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The room is decorated in the same style which makes it almost a holiday in a holiday. Mattress is comfortable and I slept well. Sara was very helpful getting me oriented to the city and the neighbourhood. When our schedules worked out she even gave me a lift into the city. Otherwise, it's a just steps from a bus stop that brings you right in downtown, in about 20 min. My first experience with airbnb and it was a very positive one. I highly recommend Sara's home.
It's been said by others but we'll happily say it again -- Sara, her talented son and their friendly dog are the perfect hosts! We too felt very much at home here and enjoyed our chats on the back deck! This was a perfect location for us -- a new (very cool) neighborhood to explore, lovely swims down at the lake and our baseball games and downtown adventures only a short bus ride away! And ah! that morning coffee!!
Our stay with Sara could not have been better. I was joking with people that when you don't have a friend to put you up, you can rent a friend to do it. Our experience was exactly like staying with an old friend.
The house is so lovely with a magical back yard, a porch off the kitchen overlooking it, (where thanks to the perfect weather Sara conjured up, we ate breakfast almost daily) and a front porch with comfy chair to read in before bed. Her neighborhood is charming and only a couple of blocks from the top of a ridge where a street runs along with breathtaking eastern vistas. Down that street a few blocks is a terrificl little French Bistro with a delightful western sunset view. There is an Italian restaurant next door as well.
Sara helped us to feel like old friends with her wonderful, welcoming demeanor and relaxed approach to hosting. She embodies "mi casa es su casa" and we felt completely safe and at home. I miss being there!
Pepper is a very laid back sweet dog, Kind of the soul of the home, and Issac who resides in his own apartment in the basement was very enjoyable when we encountered him.
Lastly this home was perfectly located for all our destinations from West Seattle to the East Side and down town. It was great to be in a beautiful, tree lined, bursting with blossoms neighborhood with curb side parking where we could walk our dog late at night and enjoy the quiet.
Needless to say, I cannot recommend this experience highly enough.
What a find! I love Airbnb for just the kind of experience I have had at Sara, Isaac, and Pepper's house. Their house is full of interesting cultural objects from her travels making hanging out a pleasure. Sara is a quiet, busy host. When we were able to sit for a spell I had a delightful conversation. Pepper, the dog is friendly and considerate. I know, you ask how a dog can be "considerate?" He doesn't get in the way: he greets you warmly but never jumped up or was too nosey. The neighborhood is quiet and the walk to Starbucks takes you past historic houses and tree-lined streets.
This is an all-around great place to stay.
It was a pleasure to stay with Sara and Isaac. They were extremely kind and helped us numerous times during our stay in Seattle. We couldn't have been happier with our stay. (PS: Pepper is adorable)
Sara, Isaac, and Pepper made me feel at home. The room was charming, cozy, and had everything I needed, including maps, bus schedules, and info about the area. Sara was really helpful in pointing out the nearby bus stops and other points of interest, and very generously picked me up from the train station when I arrived and dropped me off downtown on her way to work. I had a great time. Thank you! :)
Isaac, Sara, and especially Pepper the pup are very warm and welcoming. Their home is such a creative, cozy space and we felt very comfortable staying with them. I'm not sure what public transport is like in their neighborhood because we had a car but everything was easily accessible by car.
