Enzo was very understanding with our later than expected arrival and we were made to feel very welcome. The apartment within the old village was just right for the two of us and we would have liked to have stayed longer to meet some of the people who live there permanently.
Enzo was a most gracious and accommodating host and his small house is a great place to spend a few days. He has an infectious energy for his community at Miranda. We were fortunate to have been around when the annual Sagra del Marrone (festival of the chestnut) transformed the hill top town into a bustling celebration of food, music and friends. We can highly recommend Enzo’s hospitality and genuine friendly nature.
We spent a gorgeous two weeks in Enzo's phantastic house in Miranda. It's a wonderfully renovated house, with loving attention to every detail. The garden is great for late and lazy evenings - sitting under the wine ranks and reading our books.
We loved it that Miranda is not touristic at all, chance is you'll be the only foreigners in the village. Everyone is very nice. Hardly anyone speaks a word of English, but that's not a problem at all.
All the great Umbrian cities and villages are within driving distance (you must have a car here). We visited Spoleto, Assisi, Narni, Orvieto and other wonderful places. All of them are just as nice, but much quieter as the overcrowded Tuscan places. Umbria is also a wonderful place to make long walks in the beautiful nature.
Enzo did everything to make us at home - communication was very fast and accurate, he answered every question very quickly.
I'd recommend the house to everyone. The description on AirBnB is very accurate. Only thing I can say is that in reality it's even much better!
My girlfriend and I spent six glorious days at Enzo's wonderful, cosy little flat in Vocabolo Miranda just outside Terni. We were looking for somewhere not too far from Rome to avoid having to travel for a long time from the airport and Enzo's place is within easy reach of Ciampino, less than 1.5 hours drive. The tiny, hilltop village is conveniently located less than 10 minutes drive from Terni, a pleasant city with all the amenities one could wish for, including very decent restaurant. Enzo met us at a petrol station on the outskirts of Terni and took us up the winding road to the village. With a beautiful church and a cluster of ancient houses on top of a craggy hill, the village is the archetypal Italian hamlet and on the evening we arrived it was filled with the sweet smell of honeysuckle. Enzo has refurbished one of these old houses into the model of a modern, convenient place to spend a week (or more) but has kept the interior in perfect keeping with the age and the beauty of the house. There is a fire place, a perfectly appointed kitchen, a double bedroom and a single bed between the bedroom and the bathroom. The views from Miranda over the verdant hills of Umbria are stunning and the sound of birds echoed across the valley. Enzo gave us more excellent recommendations for activities, restaurants and destinations than we could manage in a week and has put together and excellent folder of maps, brochures and other information to point even the most ambitious guest in the right direction. He was incredibly helpful and welcoming, kept in touch throughout the booking process to give us additional information and, if anything, undervalues his place in his description since it is like nowhere else i've ever stayed in Italy. I can't recommend Enzo's place enough and very much hope to return there some time in the near future. The region around Miranda will keep you busy for weeks. We felt like we only saw half of what we wanted to.
We had a wonderful stay in this sympathetic Italian summer house! It is situated in Miranda, a very small medieval village on top of a mountain, in the province of Umbria, less than 2 hours driving north from Rome. And Enzo, the owner, is very friendly and speaks pretty good English.
The house has a small but luscious green terrace, great to start your days there with a sunny breakfast, shaded by grapevines, just hearing the sounds of the birds. There is no Wi-Fi in the house or on the terrace, which makes it an ideal place to come to a rest. Just outside the gate of the house you'll get your internet connection, if you want to.
The kitchen is equipped perfectly, even with oven, the bathroom is small, but comfortable, with also a small but good shower. The bedroom and bed are comfortable as well. And after a hot summer day you'll find the house cool and fresh (it's wise to bring sweaters for the evening).
The surroundings of Umbria are beautiful, green mountains and valleys, but also romantic Tuscany kind of landscapes. Renting a car is necessary, if you don't have one, to be flexible and make tours, to Perugia for example, Assisi, Orvieto or one of the lakes. Groceries you can get in Terni, the small city next to Miranda. A bar with bare necessities and menu and a restaurant are at walking distance.
Splendida persona! Accogliente! Pronto nelle risposte e nel dare informazioni!
Onesto e corretto!
