Nestled on a tranquil cul-de-sac on Deer Island - an island on an island - our enchanting Treehouse offers the ultimate getaway, surrounded by lush gardens and bamboo forests, stunning reclaimed wood floors, historic Savannah brickwork, and marvelous mid-century design and furnishings.
The space
Enjoy a gourmet coffee bar and the unique charm of reclaimed wood floors from an old tobacco barn in North Carolina and old brick from a historic factory in Savannah. With floor-to-ceiling windows, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the tidal marsh and Calibogue Sound, bringing nature's beauty right into your living space.
Start your day by feeding the gentle deer that wander nearby, creating a magical connection with the local wildlife. The leader of the family will eat right out of your hand.
This one-of-a-kind retreat is just a short walk from Harbour Town (HT), where you can explore the iconic Yacht Basin, visit the Lighthouse, and stroll along the HT pier. Indulge in award-winning restaurants, vibrant bars, and charming boutiques, all just minutes away. You'll also have exclusive access to the Harbour Town pool (we are the only Treehouse that has secured the pool pass).
Whether you're here to relax in serene luxury, marvel at panoramic sunsets, or immerse yourself in the island's rich experiences, this is as luxurious as it gets. Come and make unforgettable memories at our Hilton Head Treehouse retreat.
True to its mid-century roots, the furnishings in this treehouse will embrace you like a warm hug. We’ve poured our hearts into creating a space that is both stylish and comfortable, and we truly hope you love it as much as we do. One of our favorite details is the low-profile design of the furnishings, which invites you to sink in and unwind-like being wrapped in a cocoon of comfort. For an added touch of ease, we’ve made the bedroom mattresses slightly higher than usual, making it effortless to get in and out of bed. We can’t wait for you to experience it!
The Treehouse has three unique sleeping arrangements, some of which only a Treehouse can offer. The primary bedroom is where you can escape to the cozy comfort of the ground-floor bedroom, featuring a snug yet incredibly comfortable double bed and a private en-suite full bathroom*. Just roll out of bed and the Calibouge Sound will greet you.
The second bedroom is your retreat to the top floor where you can sink into the luxurious comfort of an exceptionally comfortable king-size bed. This private sanctuary promises a restful night’s sleep, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature.
The secondary living room is a multi-use room overlooking a tranquil bamboo forest, This space offers flexible sleeping options with a trundle bed that can be set up as a
cozy single twin bed,
two separated twin beds,
or a spacious king-size bed when combined.
While this space doesn’t have a door, its beautiful view and versatile setup make it an inviting and relaxing spot. The dappled light peeking through the bamboo amplifies the sleeping experience.
*The nautical-style plumbing of the lower level adds a unique touch-only toilet paper and waste should be flushed. The washer and dryer are conveniently located on this level for easy access. Please avoid using the shower and washer at the same time to keep things running smoothly.
Includes a water softener, on demand hot water, Wi-Fi locks and three separate zones of HVAC for your comfort for an ideal stay.
Guest access
Guest have full access to the entire home, except for the locked storage closet.
The pool access is just an easy walk up the road behind The Harbour Town Clubhouse and Golf Links. Also, if you want to drive, there is free parking there.
IMPORTANT: renters between April 14 and the 20th will be within the restricted zone of the RBC Heritage golf tournament. To get into the restricted zone you must have a hang tag and we are happy to offer two of those for that period of time.
Other things to note
This is a whole house single-family home rental and you will not be sharing any internal spaces with strangers. However, we do have a locked closet (upstairs behind the stairway) for our amenity storage.
None of our properties have cameras or noise monitoring devices of any kind. Some of our properties have Alexa© pucks, Google©-enabled devices, Wi-Fi-enabled appliances and/or Sonos© speakers of which may have microphones. You are welcome to unplug any of them if you have any privacy concerns.
Do not unplug any of the internet equipment, remove any thermostat or smoke alarms. This could result in a service call.
We have upgraded our Wi-Fi to 1G. Be sure your phone is set up to send and receive calls through the Wi-Fi. There are dead spots for both of the major carriers all over the islands and waterways.
And, after purchasing your Sea Pines entrance pass, everything within the community has free parking*, including two (maximum) parking spots in front of the Treehouse. AirBnB does not like us to have any additional expenses for our renters after a booking has been made. But there’s no way around this issue on our island. All of our communities are gated and an entrance pass has to be issued.
*Your parking spot(s) are directly in front of the treehouse. It is really important that you park perpendicular, pointed towards the water or the house.
There is a diagram in the collection of photos. Please do not park parallel or in front of the brick sidewalks.

From the host
None of the following is required to read for an enjoyable stay in our Treehouse. We just wanted to put every bit of information out there for those who want to soak it up.
Harbour Town:
A Coastal Gem on Hilton Head Island
The unique waterfront community of Harbour Town on Hilton Head Island offers an array of activities sure to captivate visitors of all interests—all while providing spectacular views of the yacht basin and the adjoining Calibogue Sound.
Whether you're drawn to golf, shopping, dining, tennis, watersports, or boating, Harbour Town has something for everyone. Despite its small size, this vibrant destination is packed with experiences that can fill a day, a weekend, or even an entire vacation.
A Picturesque Waterfront Hub:
Harbour Town is centered around a scenic yacht basin and consists of two semi-circular roads, complemented by a handful of shaded side streets. Once you arrive, the possibilities for indoor and outdoor fun are virtually limitless, thanks to the neighborhood’s diverse range of amenities.
A Golfer’s Paradise:
Golf enthusiasts will relish a day at Harbour Town Golf Links, one of the most revered courses on the East Coast and home to South Carolina’s only PGA TOUR event, the RBC Heritage. Designed by the legendary Pete Dye, this course is known for its breathtaking marsh views, towering palmettos, and iconic 18th hole, one of the most recognizable in the golfing world.
Shopping and Dining with a View:
On a cloudy day, visitors can explore Harbour Town Shops at Sea Pines, a waterfront shopping destination offering a variety of unique finds. This outdoor plaza boasts over 20 independently owned boutiques, including clothing stores, gift shops, art galleries, jewelry stores, and specialty retailers.
Harbour Town is also home to an impressive selection of restaurants, ranging from casual seafood shacks and cozy cafés to elegant fine dining establishments. For an unforgettable experience, visitors are encouraged to reserve an evening for a waterfront dinner, where they can savor expertly prepared cuisine while watching a breathtaking sunset over the sound. Harbour Town has a Crazy Crab restaurant, but we would advise you to try their other restaurant on the North end of the island. It is their Jarvis Creek location.
Endless Watersports and Outdoor Adventures:
Given its prime location on the Calibogue Sound, Harbour Town is a hub for watersports enthusiasts. Visitors can take to the skies with parasailing, embark on a thrilling banana boat ride, or explore the calm waters with Jet Ski, kayak, and stand-up paddleboard rentals. For those seeking high-speed adventures, water skiing and powerboat rentals are also available.
Prefer a more relaxing experience? Harbour Town offers sailing tours, dolphin-watching excursions, environmental tours, and deep-sea fishing charters. Many of these activities are available right along the marina, though it’s recommended to book in advance to secure a spot. At the most southern tip of the Sea Pines community is the South Beach Marina and home to the Salty Dog sunset tour, dolphin cruise and our favorite is the picnic boat hosted by Captain Phil (and why is the woman’s head is on the right) you will learn if you take part of this amazing activity…or Captain Ryan.
The Marina:
A Maritime Haven
At the heart of Harbour Town lies its full-service marina, built in 1969 under the guidance of Sea Pines founder Charles Fraser. Inspired by the iconic harbor of Portofino, Italy, this picturesque marina is one of the area’s most valuable assets. Dockhands are on duty daily to assist visitors, and the marina offers premium amenities, including fuel discounts, car rentals, a ship chandlery, and even daily newspaper delivery straight to docked vessels.
The Iconic Harbour Town Lighthouse:
Standing tall over the waterfront, the Harbour Town Lighthouse is an unmistakable landmark with its distinctive red-and-white striped design. Built in 1969, this 90-foot hexagonal tower emits a white light that flashes every 2.5 seconds after sunset. Visitors can climb the privately-owned lighthouse for a small fee, enjoying panoramic views of Hilton Head Island. A nearby museum also offers fascinating exhibits on local maritime history, along with a collection of lighthouse souvenirs.
An Unforgettable Coastal Experience:
Harbour Town has earned its reputation as a must-visit destination on Hilton Head Island, offering world-class golf, boutique shopping, waterfront dining, and an array of outdoor adventures. Whether you're visiting for a day, a week, or an extended stay, this charming coastal village perfectly captures the essence of Hilton Head’s laid-back yet luxurious lifestyle.
We hope you’re ready and excited to explore The Lowcountry!:
You’ve arrived in one of the most special corners of the world, perfectly nestled between the charm of Charleston, South Carolina, and the historic beauty of Savannah, Georgia. Kristopher and I have spent countless unforgettable moments in both cities, and while each has its own unique magic, Hilton Head Island offers a completely different kind of charm—a perfect blend of laid-back coastal beauty and Southern warmth.
If you’d like insider tips or help crafting an unforgettable itinerary—whether it’s the best places to stay, the most delicious spots to eat, or must-do activities—we’d be thrilled to share our favorite experiences with you. We truly hope you fall in love with this incredible place as much as we have!

My work: Hilton Head Escapes
We are Kirtis and Kristopher, formerly The Boys of Bodega Bay. We had a luxury bed and breakfast on the California coast in the quaint town of Bodega Bay. 2019 brought us a new adventure when we moved to Hilton Head Island. We want to bring the high level of hospitality we had in our inn to our new vacation rentals on the island. Both of us have been hospitality professionals for decades. In Northern California, I (Kirtis) have held the General Manager roles for a 5-star Napa Valley resort, leading Sonoma Coast vitality spa and vacation home rental agency. Kristopher has worked as an Event Coordinator, Executive Chef, and in Marketing and Real Estate Administration. We have reflected on our vast experience and extensive world travels and hopefully thought of everything you would need to enjoy our special space.
