TRULY AMAZING. Spacious, beautifully appointed studio cottage with loving private sitting/dining front porch facing the pool. Maida was helpful and made everything effortless. The property overall is large and beautiful, fabulous pool, in a great area amongst the orange groves. Fantastic bicycling and hiking area. Only a couple minutes to town center. We completely enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return. One Note: a recent reviewer complained about the air conditioning in this unit. The AC unit works perfectly well, I believe that reviewer had no experience with the "R2/D2" style portable AC unit. We have two in our home in Los Angeles and Maida has one in this cottage. One of the ducts was slightly busted but it MADE NO DIFFERENCE, the unit cools the cottage down to the frigid zone if that's what you need. Wanted to point this out since I had been concerned after reading that reviewers input on the AC.

We loved this quiet and unique house. Sitting the patio in the morning and nights was what I needed to be retreated. Maida was very friendly and guided where to go and see locally. It helped a lot.

We loved the quiet rustic feel of Maida's place. Nothing pretentious here. Situated a mile or two out of town and through the orange groves. It's just beautiful and so quiet. Floating in the pool with a view of the well established overgrown gardens, trees, the old stone fountain, empty animal pens, (sadly no animals in sight) total privacy, with no one at the main house and no one occupying the other casita, spectacular mountain and big sky views, we felt completely peaceful & relaxed. A lovely place for getting away from it all. The casita is charming and sweet. We did have to ask for a few things that were not in place on our arrival - like the Roku box for the TV (no cable). There was no instructions or welcome info packet so it was all self discovery which can be a fun adventure in a new place and made it seem less like staying at an everything is perfect resort or hotel, and more like visiting an old friend's place in the country. No complaints though, Maida's son came to our assistance pretty quickly and was very obliging. The kitchen is clean & well equipped. The entire space is small but cozy for a couple. The only downside was we had unknowingly chosen the hottest and most humid 3 days of the decade to stay!! We knew there was no A/C when we booked and had brought 2 fans from home. We don't have A/C at home either. And there were fans in the casita for us to use. But we weren't prepared for the desert-like heat and Florida-like humidity inside and outside of the casita, which made sleeping very difficult. Maida (who was very responsive to us by email but we didn't actually meet until the night before we left) hadn't mentioned the plug-in, old-style huge floorcart A/C thing in the closet. I had assumed this strange machine was some sort of 30 year old heater. It looked broken and one of the coiled hoses was torn and hanging off. If this A/C unit had been plugged in and operating when we arrived we wouldn't have had any trouble with the heat. But it was unplugged and in the closet looking like it hadn't been touched in years. On our last night, and purely by chance, Maida emailed to ask how we were enjoying the Florida heat and I replied it was making it so hard to sleep which is when she told us about the A/C unit in the closet. All we should have known to do was wheel it into the kitchen, drag the fridge across the tile floor to reach the outlet so that the enormous unbroken coiled hose could be balanced into the window above the fridge and shelving unit and wedged in place by sliding the window closed!!! Easy right? And something you'd expect to know to do in someone else's home? Anyway, Maida felt terrible & came over at...

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend away here. Maida is a great host! The Casita has a beautiful front porch that is so nice to sit on at night. We also enjoyed the very nice swimming pool. The pool area is equipped with everything you could need, lounge chairs, big umbrellas for shade, inner tubes and a grill. The scenery and mountains made this the perfect weekend getaway. The location feels tucked away and secluded, but it's a very short drive to a ton of great restaurants. We would love to return!

What a perfect get away. I honestly cannot say enough about the peace, quiet and tranquility of what Maida has created. From the perfectly appointed full kitchen with every thing you need to the soft wonderful linens and bedding. The pool was dreamy, to sit by, float in and gaze across watching a pink sunset hit the mountains. Go....you will not regret it!

What a great place! Secluded and picturesque, the pool is amazing on a warm day. Super comfy bed and great amenities! The fact that our dog was welcome with open arms was really special. Thanks Maida! We will be back.
