We try to leave our guests alone but leave our contact information in the cabin in case they have any issues. I generally try to check in by email near the beginning of their stay.
Respect the neighbors by not being to loud or have loud music on the deck after 10pm
Absolutely NO smoking inside the house.
Otherwise relax and enjoy.
Brad and Laura's cabin was a great get away for us! The space was adorable and there was more than enough room for 3 adults (and a couple others could have stayed comfotably as well). We spent time exploring Land Between the Lakes hiking trails, fishing off the bank outside of the cabin (lots of catfish and bluegill!), and relaxing by a campfire on the deck. The neighbors are very friendly. Overall a great experience and we would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a quiet get away by the water!
The cabin was a wonderful escape from the big city for us! We spent a lot of time just sprawling among the many pillows on the padded benched in the sun room, or on the deck looking out at the lovely lake view. The kitchen was well appointed along with a very nice grill on the deck for making all our meals. And although we did unplug to a large extent while there, it was nice to have Internet and directv access. Would definitely stay again!
Brad and Laura's cabin was absolutely adorable. It had everything we needed to feel right at home. The pictures do not do justice at all. When we first arrived we felt so lucky because it was even more than expected. The view of Barkley Lake is beautiful from the cabin especially when relaxing from the comfy sunroom. It was very quiet, even though there were neighbors it felt so secluded. We all had so much fun fishing, walking along the lakeside, hiking, building a fire with smores under the stars and snuggling on the large couch at the end of the day to relax and watch movies. The kids absolutely did not mind "unplugging" and didn't want to leave! We absolutely enjoyed our much needed family time thanks to your cabin. This cabin is perfect for anyone that needs to relax and unwind. We cannot wait to come back and have adult time next time. Thank you so much Brad and Laura for accommodating us and making your cabin so inviting! The husband and kids are already making plans to come back :)
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved staying at Leeward Cottage! We stayed here for a few days just to get away and get some rest and relaxation, and that is exactly what we got. The cabin is beautifully simple and cozy. There is a beautiful view of the lake from the back deck, where we built a fire in their fire pit and sat for hours. We love to cook, and the small kitchen was stocked with all the appliances and items needed to make some great meals. It rained pretty heavily one of the days we were there, and the cabin was stocked with some board games and movies, which was nice to have and lots of fun on a rainy day. The only negative to consider is that the cabin is at the bottom of a very steep hill (you park at the top), and there are no steps. Brad and Laura let us know about this prior to our stay, and it was not a problem for us (we counted it as our exercise each day!). But it could be a notable consideration for those with specific physical handicaps. Overall, the stay was fantastic, and we can't wait to go back!
Very cozy cabin for our family Thanksgiving
Stocked with everything we needed
Great heaters kept us warm on the chilly nights
Beautiful views of the lake
Lovely sunset walks around the neighborhood
The huge hill beside the cabin helped us work off Thanksgiving dinner!
Brad & Laura are great hosts and provided a clean, cozy and all-around awesome place for our family to get some rest and restoration. It was great to meet them both and we would definitely recommend their cabin to our friends.
The listing was accurate and the house was so charming! The neighborhood was lovely - there were a few other houses within sight - close enough so I didn't feel isolated, but far enough away for privacy. It was quite and peaceful there, which was exactly what I was looking for. There was a lovely restaurant nearby, Bumpus Meals, and the nearby small town of Dover contained other shopping needs. Communication with the host was excellent and he was quick to respond to my questions. I spent most of my time in the magical little sunroom, which is indeed like a tree house, as described on the site. All the amenities were available and the house was well maintained and very nicely decorated, inside and out. As it was cool during my stay, I had occasion to use the wall heater and faux fireplace and stayed very comfortable. The bedding was clean and comfortable and was expandable for when I had guests.
There were no other houses between the house and the lake - you can see the lake from the sunroom and the deck. It was very pleasant to take the very short walk to the shore and watch the birds, including a lovely blue heron and a flock of at least 100 of what I think were white pelicans. I also took long walks in the back roads.
It was very difficult to leave and I hope to visit again in the future. Thank you Brad and Laura for sharing this lovely home.

About the Host, Brad And Laura
We (Brad and Laura) are high school sweethearts who have been happily married for 30 years. We enjoy traveling and love staying at bed n' breakfast places - so much so that we nearly invested in making our own not too long ago. For years, we've welcomed visitors into our home for extended stays - from foreign exchange students (four of them over the years) to extended family, friends and coworkers. Now that both of our kids have moved to college, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to start our own little bnb here on Airbnb.
