About this listing
We are 2 brothers sharing an apartment with 3 bedrooms, and are renting the one bedroom that is free to travelers, students, tourists, etc.
The apartment has a total of 3 bedrooms (with 3 real beds), 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living/dining room.
This listing is for the biggest room in the apartment (14,28m^2). (In the details on the right I just listed the one room, bathroom and bed available for guests for this listing.) The kitchen is full equipped with dishes, glasses, pans, microwave, forks, everything you could need. The apartment is in the 4th floor (there is an elevator). There are nearby markets, supermarkets, bus stops, banks, laundry services, etc. We have broadband internet with wifi.
Interesting for students: we are 20 mins. away from the Pontificia Universidad Católica (PUCP) and just a bit further away from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM). We are also ~20 min. away from Miraflores, even less from San Isidro, and ~30 minutes away from the city center.
You will have a bathroom for yourself, and you can of course use all the common areas, including the living and dining room and the kitchen; you can use our internet connection, watch DVDs on our TV, play some guitar, etc.
Interaction with Guests
As we are all living together, of course I'll always be available if you have any questions.
I think the most unique thing in the neighbourhood is the Magdalena market. It's so well known that people come from other districts to buy not just groceries, but many other things here. In Magdalena there are also a very traditional and unique ice cream shops: Speciale and Hugo's. Hugo's is just a couple of meters away from us. You definitely have to try their unique ice cream flavours.
1. Wash your dishes if someone is cooking after you.
2. We don't have anything against smokers, but we aren't smokers ourselves. So, if you smoke, please smoke in your room with the door closed.
3. Also, ventilation is important. Lima has a lot of humidity, more so in the winter season, so we ventilate very often all year long. A good rule of thumb is to ventilate the room twice a day for 5-10 min. By ventilating I mean to open the windows fully and put the curtains aside. You can do it for example while you are out to buy bread around the corner, or while you go out for a short walk, or while you're eating out. The important thing is to do it every day.
I had booked a reservation for my daughter, Gabby, to stay in Lima for 10 days as she was attending Mistura Food Festival and visiting some museums and friends before heading to another part of Peru. It was a perfect location. She was able to walk to the festival and felt safe in and around the neighborhood. Everything you need is close by including the Magdalena del Mar market.
A visit to Larco Museum, which houses pre-Inca artifacts, is a must see if you're in Lima. It's not far from Rafael's apartment.
Rafael was attentive and communicative all the way through the process. He answered all our questions and arranged for an airport pickup and waited for her to arrive. Her flight had been delayed and was very late arriving in Lima. Thank you Rafael.
Gabby had her own bedroom and bathroom, and enjoyed the private space. Rafael and his brother were often working, so Gabby only saw them at meal times and sometimes chilling in the living room.
They were the perfect hosts, friendly, attentive, communicative and extremely helpful and respectful. Their cat was just as friendly.
Gabby highly recommends this place for your next stay in Lima.
It's a very nice and clean appartement and Rafael is a very friendly host who tried to help us as much as possible. It was an ideal place to start our trip. We would definitely recommend it!
We had a very pleasant stay at Rafael's apartment! Rafael and his brother Diego were helpful and kind and made us feel welcome in their home. It was a joy to have their curious cat running around. The room was simple and spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the bedroom and private bathroom were clean. We would suggest bringing earplugs unless you're a very heavy sleeper as the sliding window lets quite a bit of the street noise into the room. We definitely wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
