The apartment is a simple 2 bedroom with an open plan kitchen living dining room.
There is a lovely double bedroom with a secluded balcony looking out over the old town. The second bedroom has a single and a double bed.
All rooms are air-conditioned and have a fan for those who prefer.
The kitchen is is fully equipped with two fridges.
Outside there is a terrace which is shaded by a vine. The terrace has a large table with seating for ten. Beyond this there is a large garden laid out in rough grass (best to wear sandals) with sun loungers. There are lovely views of the mountains from the terrace and garden.
The apartment is hidden away top of the Rat peninsula at the heart of historic Cavtat. The waterfront is a few moments away through the old historic streets. There you will find a full range of cafes bar and restaurants.
At the entry to the historic quarter there is a supermarket, a bakery, fruit market and pharmacy in the village. Additionally there is a tourist office and bus station where regular buses to Dubrovnik stop.
It is possible to book excursions by boat to Dubrovnik (a favorite trips of ours) and nearby island from a number of tour operators near the church.
To the rear of the property is the pine forest that wraps around the peninsula and village. A path lead from here to the cozy grill restaurant "Rokotin" (fish and meat menu) and a great small pebble beach.
Spent a week in this really lovely remote cottage. Wood burning stove, with a shed full of timber which was very generous. No Tv or wi-fi so easy to properly unwind without these brainless distractions!
Excellent kitchen facilities, no washing machine, which personally wasn't a problem but might be if you have kids or staying longer.
Closeby is Ardara, a quaint village with some good pubs. Sadly we were out of season for the food in the famous Nancys bar. Very friendly and helpful locals, felt like a very safe part of the world.
This cottage is located off the N56 so everywhere is easily accessed.
Barry was a great host! Highly recommend this cottage
Great cottage, very comfortable and cosy. Lots of character and some great books on local area to read.
The cottage was lovely, and the perfect home base for my family in Co. Donegal. Barry is a terrific host, great with communication, and had a local caretaker nearby in case anything arose. We were welcomed to fridge staples and lovely scones. The kitchen is brand new, and was really convenient for when we wanted to eat at home. The house feels remote, tucked away into a lovely private area, but it's close to the town of Ardara as well as many local beaches and attractions. Thanks for the great stay!
