Stable Cottage is a cute space in a lovely place! It has a double futon bed on the mezzanine level and downstairs are 2 small double beds. 45 minutes from Dublin Airport in the heart of Kildare, we are a good gateway spot for a trip around Ireland.
Our Stable cottage is part of our little stable block next to our house (equine folk are not in residence!). It is a charming space decorated in a fresh, chic style. The accommodation comprises of a large futon style bed up a ladder staircase in the loft above the living area and 2 smaller queen size beds downstairs which would suit 1/2 adults or 2 kids.
The cottage will be all yours during your stay and has a small kitchen space in the living area with a sink, kettle, fridge, microwave and toaster. Alternatively, for those staying just one night we can provide breakfast (Coffee/Tea, toast, Muesli and Cereal).
While situated in idyllic rural countryside, we are just off the M9 Motorway and are only 40 minutes from Dublin. Our nearest village is lovely Kilcullen which has a bus service, shops, pubs and restaurants. We are also next door to Rathsallagh Hotel and Golf Club which is a great place to golf or eat in.
Our cottage is special because it has a bit of style, beautiful views and is in a great location.
Other Things to Note
Please note that our pricing is based on a 45€ per person basis but 60€ for one since it is a whole cottage.

First of all the photos do not do this place justice, it is truly a wonderful hamlet. We were made feel extremely welcome, and Siobhan even went as far as stocking us up with super tasty homemade breakfast. One last thing you need to do if you stay there, is to make time for the stars. Go outside look up, you'll get what I mean.
We (party of 5) stayed here as we attended a wedding in Rathsallagh. We all loved our brief stay, the setting is beautiful, and the stable accommodation charming & unique. It was so comfortable, and the breakfast provided was ample and very welcome! Siobhán was an excellent host, despite me adding an extra guest at short notice & arriving late to check in. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here, it's much more individual than a hotel and very convenient if you're attending an event in Rathsallagh. The only thing I can say is that the room upstairs in the stables might be off putting for those without a head for heights, my father balked at staying there but I quite liked it! All in all it was a great stay with a communicative, friendly, and very welcoming host.
Siobhan was a fantastic host, making us feel very welcome on this short break. She gave us everything we required including detailed directions and flapjacks! The stable cottage is so comfortable and cosy, even nicer than the pictures show and providing cereals/breads for breakfast was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend for a relaxing getaway to the peaceful countryside
We were made to feel most welcome by Siobhan and Jason, who are the most charming, cheerful and helpful people. The stable cottage is delightfully set up and cosy.
We were grateful for all the nice things offered for breakfast.
We all loved to stay there - a very pleasant change from your 'normal' b&b!
Siobhan and her family made us feel really welcome in the cottage. Everything was as good or better than described on their profile. They gave us directions to local places of beauty and were able to answer all our questions about the area. They were warm and friendly and i'd recommend it without hesitation. It was also very, very clean.
When we arrived they had some cereal, yoghurt and bread, coffee and tea, fresh fruit and milk. It was the best!
Siobhan was very friendly and accommodating to myself and my party of 3 (2 couples).
Although it was not expected, there was breakfast food made available to us in the cottage which was a nice, surprising catering touch.
All of our questions prior to booking were answered promptly. In particular Siobhan confirmed that the 2 sleeping quarters are in fact privately separated.
1 of our group forgot to bring a tie to wear at the wedding we were to attend in Ratsallagh, and Siobhan dug out in of her husband Jason's funky pink pig patterned tie no bother :). She also gave us use of an iron and board.
Siobhan informed us in advance that the guests due to arrive the following morning couldn't attend, and so she allowed us extra time to lie on.
Jason was also extremely helpful performing a greatly appreciated taxi service.
The accommodation was immaculate and the surrounding grounds beautifully scenic.
We would all highly recommend a visit with the Popplewells.

I think I am an outgoing, optimistic and creative person. I enjoy interiors, art and fashion and going out with family and friends. I am also a loving! wife and and mother of two children and I love where we live. I spent many years in cities and really love to visit them but this is right for us now. I work as an Organiser of Naas Farmers Market on Saturdays which is a great place to visit but I am looking forward to travelling more with Airbnb! My husband Jason works for Lily O'Briens Chocolate company which our children can't quite believe! We love horse riding, rugby and tennis and going horse racing. Our favourite holidays are usually in Ireland - Dunmore East is our holiday spot but we also like to go to Ile de Re in France if we can. I'll tell you about it when you come..
