John's place in NE Portland was just what we needed after a day exploring the city. Air conditioned, beautifully appointed, roomy, with space to relax out back... And John himself could not have been a nicer and funnier host! Brilliant stay.
Be sure to try out Gateway Restaurant for breakfast!
John was a wonderful host and I had a great stay for my first time in Portland! John was very thorough in explaining the condo, the beds were incredibly comfortable (well rested before a big weekend race), and the place was immaculate. John has thought of all the little touches important during a stay! He went above and beyond to show me Portland and the best coffee in town. John has a great sense of humor and I would highly recommend his guesthouse for your stay in Portland!!
The area is about 10 minutes outside the main stretch of portland but it is a nice drive to start an end each night. Johns great. Very helpful, friendly, and willing to do whatever to make you comfortable. Could be the best beds I've ever slept on as well! I told him I'd be staying again next time I'm there an that is the truth.
John was a wonderful host. He made every effort to make my stay spectacular. From providing a quiet haven and lovely garden to relax in, to showing me highlights of some of Portland's wonderful neighborhoods, the stay was great.
John is a extremely welcoming guy. His guest house is on a busy street but you would never know it. He keeps it very clean and it is very spacious. We will definitely return when we need to visit Portland again.
