AN APARTMENT IN THE PEACEFULL ROME
In a white ambience, with refined and designed furniture, the apartment we're introducing our costumers is situated in Via Amerigo Vespucci, in the most famous neighborhood of the city, the "Testaccio" one, right near the Tiber river and all its beauty. This warm living space is on the fifth floor of a refined building and is divided in one bathroom, one bright and spacious living-room, one compfortable kitchen and a cozy bedroom (but thanks to the sofa bed you'll have a total number of beds for three people to spleep). The building has an elevator and will satisfy your needs thanks to the many services: iron, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, freezer, flat screen, wi-fi, stereo, dvd, hair dryer, bathtub and heating system. The spaces of this lovable apartment are perfectly in harmony, sourrounding its guests by the warm light of the white walls and furniture to remind a cozy feeling of relax and serenity, suggested even by the many plants decorating the apartment in its details. The panorama this building is offering to its guests is indescribable and thanks to the sun light that fulls the ambiences, you'll feel as in your own house. The beauty of the house is second only to its position: our costumers will just have to wish to visit the Tiber river and they will be satisfy in a few minutes. Quite near, furthermore, our guests will be able to enjoy the wonderfull sight of the Saint Paul's church, the Piramide, the Circo Massimo and if they're looking for a pause from the city, here it is The Protestant Cemetery, a quite unique and lovable place protected by trees and Roman walls. Called also "English" or "Artists and Poets Cemetery it is in one of the most romantic places of Rome.
So come, escape from the general rush and join the pure spirit of Rome in its unique serenity.
The owner of the apartment, Christiana, was a great host! She not only met us and showed us around, she had also put two bottles of wine of and some cheese and olives in the fridge.
The bed was very comfortable and the whole apartment, which is even nicer than on the pictures, was very cleaned and fresh.
We loved the place and if we return to Rome, we would love to stay here again!
Testaccio is a terrific neighborhood -- people live here! -- for great dining, its proximity to the Tiber, and as an oasis from the crowds and bustle of tourist-heavy Rome. It was always a pleasure to return to this large, comfortable, mostly quiet apartment after a day on the town. Its location allows easy walking to Trastevere, the Ghetto and the Centro Storico, and the 30 and 75 buses quickly go further afield (and conveniently to Ostiense station for the airport and Termini, respectively). There are some downsides to the apartment -- altho I would return when next in Rome. It must have been very well lit when the photos were taken. In reality it is a bit down at the heels, not even the good sunlight could brighten the dinghy walls. The marble top on the kitchen table is so cracked that a piece of plywood had been placed on top of it, but it only partially covers the table making it useless. There are a lot of appliances on the counters so if you want to cook or just cut up some salami and cheese, there's not a lot of working space. I'm mechanically inept and could not get them or the entertainment options to work and there were no operating directions. Mauve they just needed to be plugged in, but I couldn't navigate the jungle of wires. The quiet is marred by motorcycles whizzing by and the bottle dumpsters being emptied around 1 AM. And it took three pre-arrival emails and a phone call to get bus directions from Termini to the apartment. On the other hand, I had a delicious meal at the restaurant where the apartment owner works and was treated very well.
Very spacious and quiet apartment in great location, within walking distance to many wonderful sights in Rome. Emiliano and Cristiana were extremely helpful and arranged airport transportation for us.
