About this listing

The space

In a white ambience, with refined and designed furniture, the apartment we're introducing our costumers is situated in Via Amerigo Vespucci, in the most famous neighborhood of the city, the "Testaccio" one, right near the Tiber river and all its beauty. This warm living space is on the fifth floor of a refined building and is divided in one bathroom, one bright and spacious living-room, one compfortable kitchen and a cozy bedroom (but thanks to the sofa bed you'll have a total number of beds for three people to spleep). The building has an elevator and will satisfy your needs thanks to the many services: iron, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, freezer, flat screen, wi-fi, stereo, dvd, hair dryer, bathtub and heating system. The spaces of this lovable apartment are perfectly in harmony, sourrounding its guests by the warm light of the white walls and furniture to remind a cozy feeling of relax and serenity, suggested even by the many plants decorating the apartment in its details. The panorama this building is offering to its guests is indescribable and thanks to the sun light that fulls the ambiences, you'll feel as in your own house. The beauty of the house is second only to its position: our costumers will just have to wish to visit the Tiber river and they will be satisfy in a few minutes. Quite near, furthermore, our guests will be able to enjoy the wonderfull sight of the Saint Paul's church, the Piramide, the Circo Massimo and if they're looking for a pause from the city, here it is The Protestant Cemetery, a quite unique and lovable place protected by trees and Roman walls. Called also "English" or "Artists and Poets Cemetery it is in one of the most romantic places of Rome.
So come, escape from the general rush and join the pure spirit of Rome in its unique serenity.

Christiana gave us a warm welcome on our arrival late in the evening. The pictures describe the apartment very precisely. It is luminous and lovely decorated. Location is very close to the Tiber and a good starting point to discover Rome.

Our host is described by airbnb as Emiliano and Maria Luciani. We never met them, we never spoke to them, as the apartment is not theirs. They have 119 listings. Clearly they do not own them all. They appear to be acting in some way as agents. Although this is not made clear. We were met by the owner who was charming but were somewhat discomfited to find that it was her own home and she was vacating it for us. This made us rather uncomfortable. The apartment is far from luxurious but full of the owner's little personal touches which gives it a real charm and warmth that can be absent from more luxurious but less personal airbnbs. The area is a lovely residential area away from the main tourist traps but still central enough to be convenient for everything. Nice local restaurants and shops. It is the second time we have stayed in this part of Rome and we love it! We recommend the apartment to anyone happy with something basic and modest with it's own idiosyncrasies and quirks. If you do stay there please remember you are in someone's personal home and treat it with the same care and respect you would your own.

This apartment in Testaccio was really perfect. Light bright and airy with great fifth floor views, it had everything we needed, and of excellent quality. Location-wise we loved it, felt very local and close to the best gelati and pizza, the wonderful local market, and the train station. Communication was great, as was the driver pickup from the airport which was very jazzy! Thank you for a flawless introduction to Rome!

We had a warm welcome from Christiana, the owner, who met us at the bus stop and treated us to icecream in a local cafe on the way to the apartment. We loved the place - as described - bright and airy, well equipped and also tastefully decorated. The rooms have an open aspect and are not overlooked.Testaccio is a wonderful location in 'real Rome' - good quality local bars and restaurants but easy to walk to the city centre and all the major sights including along the river to the Vatican. We'd love to stay there again.

As advertised, this is a bright and quiet place. The bedroom is spacious and the living room is especially large and comfortable. It's on the 5th (top) floor and the elevator is quick and reliable. The bathroom is a bit cramped, but is really okay. Emiliano and Maria are very helpful and have great neighborhood suggestions. The neighborhood is really the best part of this. Great restaurants and cafe's and all services. And if you have kids there's a really nice park/playground a block away. A 5 minute walk to the Testaccio market, which is truly fabulous. Across the river from Trastevere and a short walk to the Centro. Highly recommended.

WonderWhereToStay: tight knit team based in Rome who have made it our mission to provide our guests with the most charming, unique and cosy homes in Rome.

We are constantly looking for new ways of providing our services and sharing our love for Rome, the most recent of which is Wonder Where To Stay.

To us hosting is a way of letting the world come a little bit closer to Rome and vice versa, because living a city and experiencing its ways also means bringing something of your own into the colourful mix.

We live and love in Rome and know its every nook and cranny; inside knowledge we will gladly share once you arrive, to make sure you don't miss a single bit of all the wonders. Many of our recommendations will be regarding the food, which is (obviously) essential. We take this basic necessity very seriously and consider it one of the best ways to get to know a culture and its ways.

We are always available for any requests regarding Rome, individual interests and wishes, our apartments or something different entirely; we will do everything we can to make our guests wishes come true.

Naturally we don't live confined in an oil lamp, but enjoy a lovely home like anyone else, which is why we put great effort in making sure our apartments are always in tip top shape, the way we would expect them to be for ourselves and our family and friends.
