Lokve (district where my apartment is situated) is near center of Split (you can go to the center for 15-20 minutes walking and to the beach for 15 minutes walking or less). Bus to the center stops in front of the building and it goes every 10-15 minutes so it is the best way to go to the center. There is a big parking in front of the building for your car and it is for free. I would recommend you to go to the center by bus or walking, because during the summer time can be very difficult to find free parking in the center (if you want to pay it is about 1.5-3 euro per hour). Walking to the center is very simple; you just have to follow one street and go straight ahead without turnings left or right.
As I said you need less than 10 minutes by bus or about 20 minutes walking from apartment to Diocletian palace and many more historical palaces and bars inside it. Also, you have about 10 minutes to the most popular beach Firule with showers. For 10 minutes walking you can reach Maritime museum which I would strongly recommend you to visit. Split was traditional fisherman’s and sailor’s town and this is great opportunity to see all kind of ships that sailors used during our rich history. 300 m from apartment you can eat in exclusive restaurant Opatija with big choice of traditional meals or you can choose cheaper restaurant Calipso where locals go to eat. Few stores are about 50 meters from apartment and 150 meters from apartment is small green market with a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Apartment consists of 1 room with huge bed for two (I can provide you separate beds if you want to), full equipped kitchen and living room and large comfortable bathroom. In the living room is couch which can be bed for 1 person. Towels, blankets and sheets you will find in apartment and if you stay one week or more I will leave an extra one. There is also a wash machine if you will need it, dishwasher, cattle, toaster, and coffee machine. In living room are cd player and cable tv. There is air-conditioning (NO extra charge) so you will be able to enjoy and have a great sleep.
In the fridge you will find juice, milk, butter, jam and some fresh fruits and on the table is bread, sugar, instant coffee and tea so you can have breakfast as you like. I don’t leave water in bottle because pipe water in Croatia is good quality and drinkable so there is no need to buy water.
There is no checking in or checking out time, you can come as soon as you arrive in Split and stay in apartment till the time you have to leave. All this we can deal during your staying.
If you want to experience countryside, nature park and small towns around Split, my friend provides tours by her car (half day and one day) for good price. The brochure about it is in apartment together with city map and brochures with address of museums, rent-a-car and other things that can be interested for you. My other friend provides tours by boat. Also, you will find city map of Split and brochures of agency tours so you can compare prices and choose the best for you.
I hope you will enjoy it and spend vacations for remembrance:)
