HOW MANY PEOPLE THIS PLACE CAN ACCOMMODATE
ADDITIONAL PERSONS AND EXTRA CHARGE
We want everyone to be comfortable, so we will only allow an addition of one (1) more person but only if he/she is a child. We will not charge anything for your child below 12 years old.
WHO WE CATER TO
We open our home to free-spirited, adventurous, fun and good-natured people. If you do not require to be surrounded by concrete walls and the usual comforts that overpriced accommodations offer then our home is the right place for you.
Our place is for people who love to party and who want a quiet place after a long day/night.
Our place is also for people who are keen on experiencing new things on a tropical island and who are interested in the Filipino culture and the subculture that include the language and the way of life of the locals.
Most importantly, this place is for you if you are the kind who does not mind being away from the madding crowd of the White Beach but still have easy access to it.
WHAT OUR BATHROOMS ARE LIKE
Funny as it may seem but we have been asked what our bathrooms are like. Ours is a modern bamboo house equipped with modern conveniences. Our bathrooms are of Western standards with hot and cold shower. We don’t have a bath tub in our Tambisaan Villa. The entire sea (which is just a few steps away) is your tub.
WHO HAVE ENJOYED OUR SPACE?
--People from different parts of the world and from all walks of life. Guests choose us because they can party all day at the White Beach and do everything in other busy locations and come home to a quiet place to relax and recharge. The garden and grill downstairs also appealed to those who wanted to enjoy a private barbecue party.
WHAT ABOUT BREAKFAST AND MEALS?
Breakfast is not included in your rental fee. We are a homeschooling family who fly back and forth between locations and we can’t commit to having the time to cook for our guests all the time. But when we’re on the island, we love to cook for our guests. We will really take the time to get to know you as much as possible.
Tambisaan is not a highly commercialized area so there is only one Korean restaurant along the beach and a few eateries that offer very cheap but tasty local food.
There is a guy who lives downstairs who can cook delicious meals for you at a low price. Just ask for Sho and discuss with him what kind of dish you want. Please arrange it with him ahead of time because he has to go to the market to get fresh ingredients for you. Some guests have done the marketing on their own and just requested Sho to cook it for them for a minimal fee.
We are not in any of the 3 Stations at the White Beach. There is a 10-minute distance between Tambisaan Beach and D’Mall, which is considered the center of Boracay. The map of Airbnb is accurate and we request that you check it first before you book to manage your expectations about where we are in Boracay. We chose Tambisaan for our home because it evokes rural charm that other areas do not have anymore with all the massive constructions that have taken place over the years.
There are motorized rickshaws (or what is known in the Philippines as tricycles) and motorbikes available. Drivers usually wait at the end of the beach for passengers especially when boats dock at the Tambisaan Jetty Port. During quieter seasons, transportation is still not a problem.
There are two kinds of trips and it is best that you understand both. They are the individual and special trips.
An “individual trip” means the driver will take on other passengers and you will only pay the regular price of PhP20/person ($0.44 or 0.33 Euro) to the center of Boracay (D’Mall) from Tambisaan Beach. Going back will be the same fee.
A “special trip” means it will be a chartered trip and you will be charged a little more at PhP100/trip ($2.2 or 1.63 Euro) to and from Tambisaan Beach. If there are 4 of you the trip is still Php100. For 6-7 people (the maximum capacity for a tricycle) the driver will ask for a little bit more.
•TIPS FOR FOREIGNERS
Drivers will always try to earn more from you especially if they sense that you are new on the island, so it is best to let them know that you are oriented with the fees in Boracay. Practice your skill in haggling because you will need that on the island at one point or another. Be friendly but be firm.
•ASSISTANCE WITH TRANSPORTATION
If you need assistance with the transportation, you can call our assistant, Jonah, to call a tricycle for you. She can easily contact somebody to pick you up so you can just sit at home and wait for them to tell you that your ride is there. Please understand though that this kind of arrangement is considered a special trip so it will cost you PhP100/trip (for up to 4 people), not per person.
Tambisaan Beach can get very busy when there are strong winds at the Cagban Jetty Port, hence the boats dock at Tambisaan. The Tambisaan Jetty Port is one of the two jetty ports in Boracay. Depending on which season you will come, you may either experience a lively beach or a very quiet one.
Please consider that there is no such thing as a perfect weather forecast on the island as well. Weather can be a hit or miss kind of situation, but whatever the case is, Boracay will always have a reason for you to be happy!
Amihan - High Season

My husband Alex and I are both writers and advocates of homeschooling. Our kids are both sun and moon worshippers who equally (and strangely) love both the rustic life on the island as well as the city life. We enjoy talking to people and learning about other cultures. Cole is aiming to be a chef (he’s 12 now) and Attika—well, she just wants the whole world to be happy and she’s been doing a terrific good job so far (she’s two years old).
OUR GREATEST MEMORIES WITH GUESTS
There has been a lot since the very first day that we stared hosting, but one that stood out was that of our 71-year old guest who was half blind. Her niece had to guide her everywhere she needed to go. It was a very inspiring moment for us when she came back one evening and told us how she really enjoyed island hopping and that she would always cherish that memory.
We also met kindred spirits in the guise of guests like Jul from Paris, Melissa from New York, Cammy from Malaysia, Chris & Sarah from Germany and Patrick from Denmark.
We r couple!! We were so happy to choose this place because
It's nice, clean, quiet. Frances who is our host is very helpful.
If u like to have real peaceful vacation, choose to stay here.
Not crowded at all,You will have your own beach which is very beautiful and very popular snorkeling point. We love to say thank you to Joana and sho who were taking care of us very well. if we have chance,we will go back there for sure!!!
Actually this place has pos and cons.
On one hand bamboo house is very nice and room is modern with high tech things for Philippines like TV, good working wifi, light dimmers, shower with hot water, balcony with hammock, All in all, perfect room. May be bed might be a little bit bigger :)
Hosts are also very friendly and helpful. We didn't met with them face to face but they were online every day and helped us with some our issues.
Place is quiet, no crowd. But beach is general, usually windy and wavy.
We were said that in 100 meters from Tambisaan beach there is good snorkelling point (btw, you can rent boat, snorkelling set and fins from the nearby house where live Mr. Dunny and Mr. Cho, they also can call tricycle for you). But we didn't try, so I can't say anything.
But one the other hand is location. House is quite far away from white beach and far from main trycicle road. No drivers want to go to Tambisaan for regular price (20 pesos) because there are no people and they can't take more people and earn extra money. So it means that one way trip will cost you 100 pesos as a "special trip". It will be costly if you are going to have more than one trip per day (for example day and night trip to White Beach or other place).
But you can go to main road 15-20 minutes by walk and catch regular trike for 20 pesos :). Also there is small food place for local citizens with nice and cheap food. And they change menu a little every day, you can try different dishes.
In conclusion, if you are tight on budget and interested in living as locals I recommend this place. Otherwise better to look for smth more nearby White beach or Puka beach for example. It is not easy but possible to find good accomodation in the Boracay center for reasonable price also especially if you are not in the Peak season.
Thank you for this wonderful insight, Ilya. So glad to know you found a special place among the locals as it is essentially part of island traveling. We personally chose Tambisaan Beach for the warmth of the people there and specifically for its reasonable distance from the crowded White Beach. A lot of our guests want a quiet respite after a long day at the busier beaches. I think this is also why we have been attracting writers and artists to our place :-) We do take the time to explain before guests book the distance and the commute going to the White Beach and other beaches (Boracay has seven beaches) to manage expectations. For guests who want to be closer to the parties and commercial establishments we give them our penthouse unit at Station 1, which is a three-minute walk to the White Beach and even has a view of it from the balcony and roofdeck.
Thank you so much once again, Ilya, for choosing oir place!
Excellent place! The room not really big, but in it is everything that is necessary and even a fine balcony with a hammock. Excellent beautiful place!
The beach where there is a Bamboo house, is rather removed from the White beach that actually it is very good - there are no crowds of tourists and is very silent.
Directly from a beach the excellent view of the well-known Crocodile island opens and from there boats in the Crystal cave depart.
I recommend to all who wants not a standard tourist place and that who looks for silent romanticism. And next time we will surely take it.
Bamboo Philippino home one block from Tambisaana beach. The snorkeling in the coral 20 feet from the shore was great. Pro: location, almost private beach, neighbor Doc helpful in arranging island hopping, nice host, quiet and peaceful. Con: a bit far from the touristy Long Beach and hard to get transportation (we didn't mind, we preferred the tranquility) but if you want to be near the action, this may not be your best choice.
Very nice ! Frances house was clean, nice bamboo architecture and with hammock on the balcony. People living there were all friendly and willing to help with advices. The house is located on the other side of the Boracay island which is not so touristic and is just 50m away from sandy beach. Comparing to the touristic side of the island Frances place offers non crowded beach with best area in Boracay for snorkeling. If you would like to relax, lie below the palm tree on a sandy beach this is the perfect place. When you want to go to lively part for a dinner, party or shopping you can take a 10min ride with tricycle
Perfect spot on Tambisaan beach. You will have to climb some stairs, but they will carry your bags up for you :) One thing about philippines in general is that almost all aircons have a moldy musty smell. And the rooms are a bit run down with poor ventilation. There is also alot of new construction so many newer places smell like fresh paint (in a bad way) and are dusty etc. The aircon in this room was absolutely clean smelling and looked brand new. The room was also very clean and newer looking with fresh air. You have a private balcony overlooking trees and foliage. The beach is literally right outside and you can rent snorkeling or scuba gear etc. from the neighboring resort. There is a korean resort next door where you can get meals and the front neighbor sells coconuts for 50 pesos each. It is a short ride to Dmall/white beach - about 10 minutes or so on a motorbike (50 pesos) or a tricycle (100 pesos)
Frances and Alex made us feel very welcome. The room was comfortable and very clean and tidy. A generous breakfast was included and we were also invited us to share a meal with their family. We spent a few hours talking and sharing a delicious BBQ- such a great evening to remember.
Even though Tambisaan beach is quite a distance from the main tourist areas of Station 1 ,2 & 3 it is still a very busy place, but with more locals than tourists. We had to make a few trips from Tambisaan beach for meals or shopping and it was always easy to get a tricycle - usually cost 100 pesos each way.
We did not find Tambisaan beach great for swimming as there are so many boats there and also sea urchins that we nearly stood on, so we preferred to take a trike ride to other beaches for swimming eg Puka shell beach and Diniwad beach.
Frances and Alex arranged a 3 hour private boat trip from Tambisaan beach for us at a much cheaper price. We went snorkelling at several reef areas. It was a great afternoon.
Stay here stay here stay here!!! Staying with this family will absolutely MAKE your experience on Boracay. After a very last minute itinerary reroute to Boracay, they seamlessly communicated with me and welcomed me into their home. The room and home altogether is absolutely beautiful, and if you're looking for the "real Boracay,"- the beautiful island that is not just about party tourism- this is the place to be. The home is situated at Tambisaan beach, which gives you access to swimming directly to the snorkeling site where you'd normally pay an arm and a leg for a tour boat to take you if you were to be down on the touristy part of the island. The area is totally quiet at night and is a great refuge to get a good night's rest in to wake up and take the island in early the next day. Transportation to the more commonly known-by-tourism part of the island is plentiful and very inexpensive (20 pesos), and it's easy and safe to get back home should you want to have a late night out.
Frances, Alex, Cole and Attika are an amazing family, and they are people you should for sure spend some time getting to know. They're super caring and genuinely good people.
If I didn't say it enough from the start, I'll say it again: STAY HERE!!!
I can't say enough wonderful things about my stay at Cole & Attika Guesthouse!
They serve amazing breakfasts and it was wonderful just waking up everyday to a different culinary experience. The room was beautiful - clean, homely yet modern and definitely a different experience from the generic guesthouses around Boracay.
The location is further off from the bustle and noise of White Beach but that's where the charm lies. I wanted to stay somewhere truly special and that was exactly what I got.
The hosts are kind, friendly, helpful and really looked out for me, especially as a solo female traveller on my first time to the Philippines. I am happy to call them friends and I look forward to going back soon! Hugs and kisses to Alex, Frances, Cole and little Attika. Love from Malaysia. X
