Great check-in experience100% of recent guests gave this home’s check-in process a 5-star rating.

We sit in the little village of Unison, site of a Civil War battle, in the Middleburg hunt country, an area of wineries, a home to artist and writers, surrounded by open farmland and views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, east of the Shenandoah River.

Guests will have private quarters in the art-filled duplex home of a ceramic artist tile maker, and her husband, a novelist and New Yorker short-story writer.

Beautiful home decorated with her art tiles. Left us homemade bread, her own honey, and local goat cheese for snacks. Gorgeous peaceful countryside surroundings, not too far from nearby towns. Wonderful host, very kind and accommodating.

I booked Joan's place for some out of town guests who had nothing but good things to say about it! They said the art was fantastic and every time they turned around, there was something new and thoughtful! Thanks for making a great experience for them and for being so responsive!

The location is beautiful. Our hosts were very gracious. Joan made us homemade sourdough bread that was so delicious. The added plus was her sharing her beekeeping duties with my husband. He called it a bucket list experience.

The cottage decor is warm, the atmosphere is comforting, and the outdoor scenery is peaceful. We loved not having a TV and reading by the fireplace. Joan could not have been nicer and provided personal touches beyond our expectation, including warm, homemade sourdough bread.
