Rachel and her brother Alex are very nice and they are well intentioned. I had originally booked the studio for 3 nights but only two were available. Arriving late the first day Alex was beyond nice enough to meet in upper Sedona and show me the way to the house and studio. The studio is nicely decorated, has a good vibe and spectacular view from the balcony and from behind the sliding glass doors. Under normal circumstances I would have relaxed at the house and on the balcony as I was coming from an extremely draining experience playing the sxsw music festival and driving from Texas. However, the morning of the only full day I stayed a plumbing company showed up, at 8:30am to work on the lines. I was pretty much forced to get out of there or suffer the disturbance and noise. Rachel said that she became aware of this after I had booked the place, as I would have stayed elsewhere. She did not respond to my request to not pay the full rate as I would have had a much better stay without that surprise disturbance. More then a matter of money, the principle was my experience was not as advertised. I don't imagine this would happen to most of the guests, so would still rate the studio highly if not the integrity of the hosts, as far as it would relate to the plumbing experience. Most everything else was good. The bed is nice. The hot tub does not work properly and was over chlorinated. After lifting the top my eyes began to burn , I turned on the pump and could not get it off, most of the buttons were unresponsive. The shower also seems to be not functioning correctly, there was little option between quite hot and cold. Despite all this I give it 4 stars, it is a great place to stay. Nothing is perfect. The view makes up for a lot. It is in a quiet neighborhood, relaxing on the deck or on the hammock is a wonderful experience. The location is a little bit out of west sedona but not far at all and peaceful.
Highly recommend this property! My husband and I went to Sedona to do some hiking and to soak up the views. When we saw the view from the balcony we had no ambition to drive anywhere to go hiking. Instead, we hiked places around the house. The Red Rock State Park is about half a mile to the entrance, really easy walk from the house. The park is well maintained and good for the entire family. The hammock from the balcony was the place to hang out. Having the access to the hot tub was a bonus too. It was really peaceful and had a great relaxing week. We saw coyotes from the balcony as we were having our morning coffee. The studio was well laid out and very spacious. It had plenty of plates, glasses and silver wares, regular coffee pot and even French press. You will love this place! Thanks for everything, Rachel.
The studio apartment is located overlooking a beautiful river valley, with the Sedona cliffs in the distance. It was not that far out of town but it was peacefully quiet. We could even hear the birds wings flapping in the air! The balcony was a perfect place to enjoy the outdoors.
