Central, cosy & clean room in a city apartment; located on Franklin St side of the Queen Victoria Market.
The guest room is a single room in a two-bedroom apartment. Ideal for a short stay for one person. The apartment is furnished with a mix of modern & vintage design. Shared bathroom, living area and kitchen.
All your necessities are provided. A simple breakfast, tea/coffee and fruit are all available everyday for you to help yourself. Bath towel, toiletries (shampoo, conditioner and body wash), wireless internet, cooking facilities, iron/ironing board, washer/dryer, hairdryer, international adaptor, heater/air-con, maps and city guide books are all available in the apartment. A guest Myki card (for Melbourne public transport) is available for you to use, just top up with credit as you go.
You will be sharing the apartment with your host. During the week I work nearby in the city. On weekends, my schedule is pretty varied but I'm usually out and about. If I'm not at the apt and there's anything you need to ask or tell me, please message, call or leave me a note and I'll try to help. Don't hesitate to ask me questions about Melbourne and anything that you are interested to find out about, I'll try to answer. You might also meet my friends, family if they are stopping by.
Please note that I work office hours, so check-in times are around these hours. I'll always check these times are ok before accepting bookings. If you already know your arrival and departure times when making an enquiry, it is very helpful to include this information (and flight number if applicable).
Franklin St is in the vibrant heart of Melbourne city, but also very close to the inner-city cool of North Melbourne, Carlton & Fitzroy. An array of restaurants, cafes & bars are all a short walk or tram ride away.
Note for location: Depending on airbnb interface I have noticed my map moves. The apartment building is on Franklin St (between Queen St and William St), Melbourne. Directly facing the Queen Victoria Market from the southern side.
Flagstaff station (weekdays only) is around the corner. Southern Cross and Melbourne Central are a short 10-15 min walk. Tram stops for various lines on the tram network are under 5 min walk. There is a stop for the free City Circle tram on Latrobe St and also a stop for the Melbourne Tourist bus at Victoria market; all very nearby.
Once we have confirmed your booking a detailed email will be sent to you with instructions on how to get to my apartment from Southern Cross Station (if arriving by Skybus from the airport).
Upon arrival I will take a copy of your ID/passport for my own verification and security.
Look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you in Melbourne soon!
Wei Ai was a fantastic host! I really enjoyed my stay with her in Melbourne. I arrived around lunch-time, and she left work to meet me, acquainted me to the city and it's tram/train system, and showed me around the apartment. She had tons of maps and guides that were very helpful for navigating the city, and she was a perfect balance of attentive and conscientious of my privacy. The location of her place is IDEAL! It's right in the CBD, extremely close to public transportation, and near some sites. I really enjoyed the time I spent in Melbourne, and Wei Ai was a terrific person to stay with!
Wei Ai was a delightful and helpful host making my forays around Melbourne on public transport very easy. I stayed for 8 days and felt comfortable making myself at home as she invited me to do. Wei Ai's place is modern and clean and just handy to everything.
I had a great time visiting Melbourne and Wei Ai's hospitality and accommodations was a big reason for that! It was such a cute little apartment in the perfect location to easily walk to most of the sights in the city center and also right across from the Queen Victoria Market which quickly became my favorite spot in town to get great food and fresh groceries. Plus, there's a new coffee shop on the bottom floor of her building which served delicious lattes! I was there during the Australian Day weekend so Wei Ai was out of town on holiday most of my visit but before she left, she made sure I was set and ready to explore the city. She left me with maps, a transit card, and lots of suggestions for what to do and see. She was super nice and very easy to get along with and I would definitely stay there again if I ever visit Melbourne again!
The room was small but comfortable and gave me exactly what i wanted - excellent central location right by Victoria Market and a very comfortable bed. Wei Ai was very helpful and very quiet. Would certainly recommend for a short visit to Melbourne.
Excellent value and location, within walking distance of all I wanted to do in the city and Melbourne Uni. The unit, although small, is well appointed and had everything that I needed. Wei Ai is an excellent host and did everything to make my stay enjoyable.
What can I say.. It's probably the best stay for your holiday in Melbourne! Just a short walk to the city, stylish apartment and a lovely host!!
Thank you for the delicious breakfast!
Hope to see you again! XO
Excellent location, friendly host, and very good value. The room is rather small and has no window, but this is reflected in the price and was not a problem as Wei Ai was away for a large proportion of my stay so I had the whole apartment to myself.
Wei Ai was a lovely host and very helpful when it came to recommendations of things to do and getting around the city. Her apartment was trendy and the location was absolutely perfect - just across the road from the famous Victoria market, very easy to reach from the airpot (just a ride on the Sky Bus and a quick walk), convenient for pick-up/drop-off if you do one of the Great Ocean Road tours, near Melbourne University and the main shopping areas - I was able to walk almost everywhere, or you can access many different tram lines.
In addition to fresh fruit and cereal, Wei Ai also shared her coffee/tea and warmly engaged me in conversation in the evenings. This was a great first experience as a sole travel using airbnb. I highly recommend Wei Ai as a host.
The only negative was that the Wifi was a bit fiddly when I was there.
Staying here just made a wonderful visit to Melbourne, even better. First it's a wonderful location only about three blocks from a 'City Loop' train station, only a half block from a tram line and about a ten minute walk to Elizabeth Street, a twenty minute walk to Finders Street Station and best of all across the street from the Queen Victoria Market. The host is extremely knowledgeable and if you are a newbie to Melbourne she will really add to your enjoyment of your trip. I been staying at home stay B and B's for over twenty years and this is one of top five experiences of those years.
(email hidden)'s was just perfect. She is a wonderful, polite and open-minded person. Though the space is quite limited, we got along really well and I felt absolutely comfortable. We also had dinner the other night together. Her apartment is cosy, clean and modern and located perfectly if you like to explore Melbourne. I strongly recommend staying there!
