The Space

A charming guest room. Perfect for 1 person or a couple. Close to downtown Keene. Many hiking trails. For those who are runners, Keene has some scenic runs and beautiful fall colors to admire. Happy to share our favorite restaurants, local events such as Keene Marathon, Ice carving festival & Pumpkin Festival. Seasonal activities: Kayaking, Skiing and swimming in the local lakes.
For people with fitness interests a new YMCA with a 25 yd pool is a 5 minute drive.

The Colonial Theater is walking distance and features independent films as well as good live entertainment.

Great accommodation for visiting Keene State College and 'Parents Weekend'.

We have a wonderful meditation room for those of us who need to warm up the mind or sit by the fire with a lovely cup of tea. Fully equipped kitchen including an espresso machine.

Happy Trails and look forward to meeting you,
Jeanne - Marie

  • Absolutely outstanding stay. Jeanne-Marie was very accommodating for my wife and I, allowing us to stay Wednesday night and Saturday night. We camped at Monadnock State Park on Thursday and Friday night. Such a fun trip, and the charming yellow house and Jeanne-Marie and family made it even better!

  • Precisely what was listed. We only stayed for a short while but nevertheless felt the utmost hospitable characters from the hosts. Tim and his family were pleasant and outgoing. Their home is clean, bright and very welcoming. Our room had more than enough to maintain the two of us and was very well prepared for our arrival. Tim always made sure we felt right at home. We would definitely stay here again if there is a chance!

  • My wife and I really enjoyed staying with Jean Marie and her family. She is a very warm hostess and made us feel very comfortable and welcome in her home. We had a lot of activities scheduled across our two days, so we were in and out of the house a lot, but it was a great home base for our Keene adventures. The house is very convenient to Keene's great downtown area, only about a 3 minute drive. Highly recommend you stay at the Charming Yellow House, and climb Monadnock Mountain while you're in Keene!

  • This was my second stay at Jeanne-Marie's. It is a great location in Keene, NH, the house is beautiful and Jeanne-Marie is very helpful and fun.

  • The biggest surprise is that the room that I stayed in was not the room that was pictured. The pictures show a lovely, bright bedroom but I never saw that room. I stayed in the room over the garage which was a totally empty room with nothing but a bed and a piano. There were no curtains, no night table, no chair, no tv, basically nothing in the room at all except the bed and one little bench. The host was nice but she was extremely busy and it was hard to get information ahead of time. There was not a private bathroom. There was a powder room but I had to walk through the kitchen to get to it and there was a shower upstairs in the family's living area.

  • Jeanne-Marie was very pleasant and accommodating, making me comfortable despite my need to rush to an appointment. The home and room were quite lovely, with beautiful grounds to enjoy, had it been a more leisurely visit. I most appreciated being able to be in a country setting, while having convenient access to downtown Keene. I highly recommend this listing, and am likely to visit again.

  • My husband and I had a great experience at Jeanne-Marie and Tim's house - the perfect place to stay for a quick trip to Keene! Super friendly and welcoming family, room to spread out, and an affordable alternative to the hotels in town. Would definitely book again!

  • The hostess (Jeanne-Marie) and her family were about as friendly, welcoming, and gracious as a family could be! They literally opened their house to us. The children knew we were coming and greeted us, showed us around the house and showed us our room. A large spacious room over the garage with one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in. It was roomy and private. They gave us their code for internet access and it felt like home. They greeted us each morning with fresh coffee and cheese and bread. The neighborhood was as delightful as the family and only 2 miles from the center of town. This was our first experience with "airbnb" and we are hooked thanks to the "charming Yellow House". I've told everyone about it since our weekend visit. Thank you Jeanne-Marie!
