About This Listing
The small tower can accommodate two people comfortably, nestled in the Umbrian and Tuscan countryside, in a protected area for the natural scenic beauty. The splendid view of Lake Trasimeno will be the setting worthy of your holiday.
The tower is created out of the restoration of an old abandoned stable situated in the centre of a small countryside hamlet called Sanguineto. This place takes its name from the famous bloody battle of 217 BC fought between the Roman army and the Carthaginian army (led by Hannibal). Today this area is classified as one of outstanding natural beauty, where traditional farming methods are still very much in evidence, the major crops being olives and wine grapes. The property have been luxuriously finished using traditional building methods and materials combined with the latest technology. It has its own independent liquid propane gas (LPG) central-heating system, with the boiler located outside the building, as well as its own electricity. A pergola, and a private garden giving out onto the surrounding landscape, offering a magnificent view over Lake Trasimeno, complete the building. The tower has two floors, one bedroom, a living room with kitchenette, one bathroom, private garden, and pergola. Swimming-pool.

The tower has one of the most authentic Italian views you can ask for: rolling hills, olive trees, clear skies, and the beautiful lake below. Inside, the room is cozy and the bed is comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked as well.
Beyond that, the hosts were incredible. Michele's mom picked us up from the train station AND drove us back. We had planned to make our own dinner but the market in the nearby town was closed on Thursdays and, since the next closest market was over 10km away, we weren't able to. However, Michele's sister made us an incredible dinner as well, maybe the best I've ever had, for $15/person.
The only downside was that it was too early in the season for the pool to be open, which was a bummer. So if you're excited for that, make sure it's good to go before you book.
The tower is awesome! It's located in a small town that is really cute - great place to experience local stores and living (we did it between the hustle, bustle, and tourism of Rome & Florence). We didn't meet Michele but her sister-in-law greeted us and made us a home cooked meal for very little cost. It was AMAZING... don't pass it up! We started with meats, cheeses, several types of bruschetta & wine before lasagna made with hand-rolled noodles! Finished with espresso, dessert, and grappa! The grounds are beautifully manicured and the area in general is so relaxing and wonderful! There is a covered porch perfect for outside dining or reflection. Oh, and there was also a nice spread of breakfast foods!
Our stay was wonderful.
A place with spectacular view, just as described.
One must consider that the place is not big, but certainly suitable for a couple.
Fully equipped kitchen - We prepared dinner and several breakfasts.
Nice host which helped us by email whenever we had a question.
