The space

This spacious, cheerful, luminous bedroom (facing west) is nicely furnished with queen size bed, bookshelf, chest of drawers, closet and desk. It's located in a four bedroom single family home surrounded by garden with fruit trees, roses, vegetable garden. There is also a swimming pool, deck and gazebo.
This is a private room with shared bathroom in a private single family house. Bedrooms are upstairs, living space and additional bathroom are downstairs.
The shared bathroom has a shower over the tub and is newly remodeled and faux-finished. An additional bathroom with shower on the first floor is also available. Kitchen available for prep of simple meals.
The household is quiet, serene and friendly.
The house is located in a residential, safe, green, quiet neighborhood. Los Altos is a quaint village with excellent restaurants and bars. Downtown Mountain View is down the street with its variety of ethnic restaurants and interesting stores.

In the immediate area there are many beautiful biking and hiking trails and walks in the wetlands by the bay. From the top of the close-by hills one can admire the breathtaking panorama of the San Francisco Bay Area.
The climate of Los Altos is the best. Mild, not humid, sunny almost year-round.
High speed internet is available. Plenty of free street parking. Washing machine.
The house has a unique whimsical and welcoming atmosphere. The brightly colored flowers in the garden, the warmth of the hardwood floors, the aroma of fresh breads and focaccia that at times Nelly bakes will make guests feel right at home.

Hello, my name is Nelly. I've lived in Genova, Italy until 20 years ago and then I moved to Los Altos, California in the San Francisco Bay Area. In Genova I owned one of the most traditional food specialty stores: Torte e Farinata Antica Sciamadda. In the US I have been teaching Italian cooking and culture for two decades and lead culinary tours in various Italian regions. My passion is to cook, preferably with others. So, if interested, I can teach guests a few things during their stay. Another passion is "home". I love to make guests feel at home and create a "home away from home" for them.
