About this listing

The Dragonfly Studio Apt. was recently remodeled and is located at the end of a secluded private drive approx. 1 mile east of Stevenson. Safe parking and area to off load bikes, kayaks, etc. is all part of our casual environment. Entry is located below the main living area of our home and includes a kitchenette with the basics you need for simple cooking. Room includes a coffee, queen sized bed, tile shower, Wireless WiFi, Dish TV and DVD player.

The space

We are approximately 1 mile east of Stevenson. An intermediate walk with some ups and downs. We are on a private drive with just one neighbor. You will drive past their house and the driveway dead-ends at our house. Just look for the Dragonfly on the wall and pull straight down and park. We have a 3 year old black lab named "Sunny" . Sunny is not allowed in your space......though she may try and tell you otherwise. :)

Guest access

New this season: Guests have access to the shared outside deck by a new staircase located right outside their entrance. A new gas grill has also been added for your use.

Interaction with guests

We try and be sensitive to what our guests desire. We mostly will leave our guests alone for their privacy but are happy to answer any questions you might have. We have an active outdoor lifestyle in our community but can usually be reached by text if we aren't home. We have two molded plastic kayaks, (approx. 10-12 ft that are available for loan IF you can transport on your own vehicle.) These are heavier and indestructible.

Other things to note

Stevenson has delightful shops, a beautiful library and numerous trails close by. We have lived here many years and will be happy to share our favorite hikes etc. There are hiking books in the room. There are also menus from the local restaurants. There is a variety of yummy restaurants to choose from. The first morning you will find "light continental" breakfast items, coffee etc. in your room/refrigerator.

We do accept one night stays however for three day week-ends or local festivals/events (ie, Blue Grass Festival, Outrigger Races, Blues and Brews etc.) we may require a minimum of two nights.

What a wonderful and spectacular location for relaxing!! The view is incredible, Sandy and Bob are fantastic hosts who made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The deck was a special treat, soaking up some sun during the perfect weekend weather. Sunny was on her best behavior, very sweet dog who will fetch for hours!

This is a wonderful little place located in a beautiful part of the state. Even though the weather was wet, Sandy left us with a list of tips to do on a rainy day. It was much appreciated. We were welcomed and felt very much at home. Be aware this place is a basement location. I missed more natural lighting, but we tried to spend most of our time outdoors to make up for that. That is a very small downside to what otherwise was a very nice stay. We will definitely return to explore more of the area.

Response from Sandy:
Thank you for your well written review. We too wish we could "import" more natural light. "Most" of our guests spend their day light hours exploring the Gorge and surrounding areas just like you did. That does help mitigate the basement situation. We hope you are able to return another time to explore and hike.

Sandy's place is beautiful and she's pretty great too! Such a nice host and made sure we knew everything at check in. Super simple check in and the view is incredible. The dog, Sunny, is so great too. We would definitely recommend this place! We really enjoyed our stay here.. Everything about the stay was amazing.

Sandy and Bob were great hosts for our adventure weekend in Stevenson. We arrived and were greeted immediately with warmth and a quick game of fetch with their amazing dog Sunny. The apartment had everything we needed for basic cooking and we slept very well every night. Sandy was also great at recommending places to visit and also gave us advice for driving around the area - the best way to the airport and how to take the scenic route to see the waterfalls on the way to the AirBnb. We came back late one night after some adventuring and Sandy was able to find us a nice place to grab a steak and beer when most of the places in town were already closed. She is very responsive and helpful with logistics. The apartment is clean and has everything you need, from cooking utensils and snacks to maps, board games, and toiletries. I highly recommend this place if you need a headquarters for adventuring around the Columbia River Gorge area.

Sandy and Bob were absolutely wonderful hosts! They went above and beyond what anyone could have ever asked for. Without their help my engagement would have been lacking, Bob gave me some tips to help our New Years /engagement be an unforgettable experience. The dragonfly studio is exceptional! We were accommodated in every way possiable. Sandy has an eye for detail and is very thorough, communicative, and inviting. 10/10 would stay here agian. Wonderful people, it was our pleasure to have met them not to mention their wonderful dog Sunny. Can't wait to spend a weekend with them over the summer!

Bob and Sandy chose Stevenson as the all around spot to raise their family (now grown and gone) and play in the Gorge. Windsurfing at Bob's Beach, kayaking, hiking, fishing and pickle ball are just a few of the local activities enjoyed. This is a great community and we enjoy sharing it with others.
