Thank you Dienba,
We do really care about our Guests, and we are disappointed that you didn't have a good experience here. I'm not really sure why an uber driver would make a comment like that, other than we have to assume he wasn't from around here. I have lived here for over 10 years, and my neighbor for 30. We are very much a safe place, where neighbors know each other and spend time together. That to me is the very definition of a "neighborhood" Had you come in during the day, and not late at night, you may have seen the beautiful park around the corner "Ernest Debs" or the beautiful old Catholic School not 1 block away "Our Lady of Guadalupe". You may even have taken a short walk up Huntington dr. to a Mom and Pop owned and operated restaurant "Hecho y Mexico" for some amazing and authentic home cooking.
For us, travel is always about opening up to the world, opening of the mind, acceptance of different places. If you want things to to be like home, safe, why travel ? If you choose to look at it a certain way, the world is not safe place. We have had over 200 guests that have written about our little neighborhood, zero incidents, 2 years. I think we will keep the description of our place as is.
Safe Travels Dieneba, and PURA VIDA !
