About This Listing
A unique, modern apartment with ultra high ceilings. With a bedroom and loft, the fully equipped apartment can sleep up to 4.
Walk to Melbourne's main attractions, or relax at home. The building contains its own shops, including a supermarket.
We're offering our entire heritage listed former beer brewery apartment for your short or long stay in Melbourne.
The apartment is two floors. Downstairs is a kitchen and dining area, with a separated bedroom and bathroom. Upstairs can be used as a generous second bedroom or large living area—or both.
The kitchen is well equipped, so you're likely to have everything you need to feed yourself during the stay. There's a Nespresso-like coffee maker, and we'll provide some coffee capsules.
This apartment is in a quiet location only a short work or shorter tram ride to the Melbourne CBD and other main attractions. Fitzroy, busting with cafes and restaurants is only a 5 minute walk. You'll be spoilt for choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The building complex itself also has great amenities including a tasty cafe, pizzeria, supermarket, wine bar, hairdresser and fish & chips shop (arguably the best fish and chips in Melbourne). There is also a seriously great wine bar here.
There are trams and buses to take you around the city right in front of the apartment.
It's easy to get here from the Airport via the Skybus, with a hotel transfer.
• Melbourne CBD: very nice 15 minute walk through the park, 8 minutes by tram or bus which stop outside front door
• trendy Smith Street and Brunswick street in Fitzroy: less than 10 minute walk.
• little Saigon, filled with Vietnamese restaurants : less than a 10 minute walk. Pho for $8 :)

You will be sleeping on a brand name queen size mattress which can comfortably sleep two people.

We hope these will help make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Prices are discounted for stays longer than a week, and discounted again for stays longer than one month. No need to ask.

Interaction with Guests
We live just across the road and are generally available to meet guests or pop in to say hi. However, we err on the site of letting you enjoy the space.
We often leave the keys for pickup for easy check-in when Summer and I working.
However, should you require anything, including some information, we can usually respond very quickly.
East Melbourne is one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in all of Australia. It's mostly park area, with plenty of beautiful mansions from the Victorian era.
It's adjacent to many of Melbourne's attractions. To the West, Melbourne's CBD. To the north, trendy Fitzroy and Collingwood. To the east, the Vietnamese area, with great pho. And to the south, the MCG and Melbourne Park (home to the Australian Open).
There is a tram stop about 20 meters from the front door of the apartment which takes you into the city or, in the other direction, to Richmond for Pho or Ikea. There is also a bus stop 10 meters away with buses that run into the city a bit more frequently than the tram.
We do not recommend that our guests rent a car for exploring Melbourne, but a car would be useful for a day trip to the wineries or Great Ocean Road. Parking it at your expense, but there is paid parking available in the building.
We'd be happy to provide instructions on public transportation.
Leave no trace. That means we expect you to clean—including vacuuming—if necessary.
• No extra guests without letting the hosts know and agreeing in advance. Extra guests usually incur an extra nightly.
• Shoes off in the apartment at all times.
• No smoking in the apartment.
• Please keep the noise down after 11. The building is monitored by security guards and loud noise often results in a fine (which I will pass on to you).
• When you check out, lock up and leave the key in letterbox. Take ALL your stuff including food, toiletries, recycling, rubbish, and plastic bags. Everything you forget will be donated, recycled or disposed of. We may charge you to remove rubbish and we will certainly mention it in our review.
• Never leave your stuff in the hallways.
• Don't leave the heater or lights on when you're not home. That's a waste and waste is so bad.
• Don't use the washing machine or dryer without asking.
• Don't hang your wet clothes anywhere except provided drying rack.
• When you leave, lock the door from the outside.
• Please don't use the "very high light" (AKA the "forbidden light") unless absolutely necessary. It would (no joke) actually require several people to change it.
• Keep front door closed while cooking. Smoke can set up the building fire alarm and hefty fines apply.
Please note that by making any booking you are responsible for all Covered Losses as required by AirBnB's host guarantee. Further, you will have an express obligation to pay us (the hosts) for damages or losses caused by you during you stay.
From Jun 8 - Jul 31, 2015 the minimum stay is 7 nights.
What a lovely place to stay. Great location, only 15 minute walk into the centre of Melbourne, 10 minute walk to Brunswick St and all those fantastic shops.
The apartment is modern and clean with all the ammenities we needed. Also it is a secure building with electronic access.
Our hosts Scott and Summer were in touch to make sure everything was good and that we had no issues, it was not a problem to contact them at anytime, not that we needed to which really helped.
We will definetly be recommending this location to our family and friends and will look forward to staying there ourselves when in Melbourne.
Thanks again Scott and Summer for a wonderful experience.
Great and unique apartment, lovely and clean and perfect for a weekend or longer. Hosts were great communicators and it felt if nothing would have been too much trouble if anything went wrong (which it didn't). Thanks for having us!
My wife & I and our son stayed for 5 days to visit our daughter who lives in Melbourne. Scott was a quick communicator making the booking process easy. He checked on us during our stay to offer assistance if required. It was a great apartment & was accurately portrayed. The location was perfect for us. A wonderful 15 minute walk across Fitzroy Park into the CBD & very short walk to Smith & Gertrude Streets. It's very convenient with an IGA immediately below. When we visit our daughter again we will try & book into this apartment if available.
East Melbourne is a lovely suburb and this apartment is spacious, quiet and a well-located space to stay. It worked well for my sister and I as there are two bedrooms (the second bedroom is a mezzanine-level, open plan room, which also houses the TV/sofa). We had a nice amount of space for two people. Good value. It's handy having the IGA supermarket below. Thanks Scott and Summer. :-)
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this great apartment. The location is ideal, and the hosts were in constant communication to make sure we were looked after. Great place for couples.
This was a great apartment to stay in for the weekend. Super cool and comfortable in a convenient location (walking distance to the MCG where we were going). There is an IGA right downstairs and plenty of public transport closeby. Scott was lovely and eager to help out in anyway. The coffee was very much appreciated too!

About the Host, Scott & Summer
I'm a 32 year-old MBA graduate originally from the US, but I went to university in Canada before settling in Melbourne, where I've lived for about 10 years.
I live with my partner who is Chinese-Belgian (we met on university exchange). Between us, we speak quite a few languages including Mandarin, French, and English.
Located in the same building complex as my apartment, it features some of the best fish chips in Melbourne, plus friendly staff. I watch them furiously clean the place every night; very clean!Victoria Parade East Melbourne VIC 3002

If youre relocating to Melbourne, youll almost certainly need a trip to Ikea. Melbournes Ikea is just a short tram ride from our place, and free coffee with the Ikea Family card (also free).Victoria Street Richmond VIC 3121
Dont take a day trip to Phillip to see the penguins. There is a small penguin colony in St Kilda thats free and a short tram ride away. Take the 112 tram from Victoria parade all the way there.Pier Road St Kilda VIC 3182
Seriously the best coffee in a city full is great coffee. They also have a large selection of beans and brewing equipment to take home (I recommend the Aeropress).109
