We're offering our entire heritage listed former beer brewery apartment for your short or long stay in Melbourne.
The apartment is two floors. Downstairs is a kitchen and dining area, with a separated bedroom and bathroom. Upstairs can be used as a generous second bedroom or large living area—or both.
The kitchen is well equipped, so you're likely to have everything you need to feed yourself during the stay. There's a Nespresso-like coffee maker, and we'll provide some coffee capsules.
This apartment is in a quiet location only a short work or shorter tram ride to the Melbourne CBD and other main attractions. Fitzroy, busting with cafes and restaurants is only a 5 minute walk. You'll be spoilt for choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The building complex itself also has great amenities including a tasty cafe, pizzeria, supermarket, wine bar, hairdresser and fish & chips shop (arguably the best fish and chips in Melbourne). There is also a seriously great wine bar here.
There are trams and buses to take you around the city right in front of the apartment.
It's easy to get here from the Airport via the Skybus, with a hotel transfer.
• Melbourne CBD: very nice 15 minute walk through the park, 8 minutes by tram or bus which stop outside front door
• trendy Smith Street and Brunswick street in Fitzroy: less than 10 minute walk.
• little Saigon, filled with Vietnamese restaurants : less than a 10 minute walk. Pho for $8 :)
• Melbourne Cricket Ground: 10 minute walk through very beautiful, historic neighbourhood. If you're coming for an event at the G, this is definitely the right place for you.
• Melbourne Park for the tennis and other sporting venues: 20 minute walk.
• quaint and quiet streets of East Melbourne with very old an beautiful Victorian houses (just open the front door!)
You will be sleeping on a brand name queen size mattress which can comfortably sleep two people.
The loft has a sofa, a Samsung HD LCD TV and sofa for chillaxing. There's an air mattress we can set up for extra guests to sleep in the loft. It's very comfortable. Just give us a heads-up if you'll be needing it.

After living in this apartment for 5 years and hosting about 100 guests on AirBnB, we're moving across the road to a new place. You'll probably see us on check-in and we're definitely available to advise on anything while you're here.
You can also stay with us in the new apartment if this place isn't available.
East Melbourne is one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in all of Australia. It's mostly park area, with plenty of beautiful mansions from the Victorian era.
It's adjacent to many of Melbourne's attractions. To the West, Melbourne's CBD. To the north, trendy Fitzroy and Collingwood. To the east, the Vietnamese area, with great pho. And to the south, the MCG and Melbourne Park (home to the Australian Open).
There is a tram stop about 20 meters from the front door of the apartment which takes you into the city or, in the other direction, to Richmond for Pho or Ikea. There is also a bus stop 10 meters away with buses that run into the city a bit more frequently than the tram.
We do not recommend that our guests rent a car for exploring Melbourne, but a car would be useful for a day trip to the wineries or Great Ocean Road. Parking it at your expense, but there is paid parking available in the building.
We'd be happy to provide instructions on public transportation.
Other Things to Note
Melbourne have one or two heat waves every summer where it's HOT (more than 35° C). Hot months are December-February. We don't have air conditioning so please be aware of the risk. We do have an awesome fan which helps.
Leave no trace. That means we expect you to clean, including vacuuming, if necessary.
- No smoking.
- Please keep the noise down after 11. The building is monitored by security guards and loud noise often results in a fine (which I will pass on to you).
- When you check out, lock up and leave the key in letter box. Take ALL your stuff including food, toiletries, recycling, rubbish, and plastic bgs. Everything you forget will be donated, recycled or disposed of.
- Never leave your stuff in the hallways.
- Don't leave the heater or lights on when you're not home. That's a waste and waste is so bad.
- Don't use the washing machine or dryer without asking.
- Don't hang your clothes anywhere except provided rack.
- When you leave, lock the door from the outside.
- Please don't use the "very high light" (AKA the forbidden light) unless absolutely necessary. It would (no joke) actually require several people to change it.
- Keep front door closed while cooking. Smoke can set up the building fire alarm and hefty fines apply.
Please note that by making any booking you are responsible for all Covered Losses as required by AirBnB's host guarantee. Further, you will have an express obligation to pay us (the hosts) for damages or losses caused by you during you stay.
The apartment was just as described. Scott and Summer gave us clear instructions for finding the key and managing everything in the apartment. They also came over the first night to meet us and be sure we were finding everything we needed, offered us tips for things to see and do and made us feel welcome. The apartment was clean, comfortable and extremely well-located for us; the tram stop is right in front of the building. It was also great to have coffee, milk, etc. provided.
We recently spent two nights at this gorgeous apartment right in the centre of East Melbourne. Scott and Summer were wonderful hosts and made the booking process very easy. They have a lovely place (that staircase is amazing!!) and I recommend it for anyone visiting for a weekend or even longer.
We did not actually meet Scott and Summer but they sent clear instructions on how to pick up the key to the apartment. The apartment was clean, modern and well equipped, suitable for the 2 days we were in Melbourne.
Scott & Summer were very welcoming to a first time Melbourne visitor. I arrived in the middle of a heat wave and because the apartment doesn't have AC (installation to be scheduled), they offered to let me stay at their place for the first night until it cooled down. I made do, and it was warm but the fans they provided helped a great deal. After the first night I was really able to enjoy the place to its full extent. The space is unique, the building is well known, and very comfortable and convenient. There is a grocery store right downstairs to load up on supplies. Tram and bus right across the street to take you into the CBD or elsewhere.
I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again on my next trip to Melbourne.

I'm a 32 year-old MBA graduate originally from the US, but I went to university in Canada before settling in Melbourne, where I've lived for about 10 years.
I live with my partner who is Chinese-Belgian (we met on university exchange). Between us, we speak quite a few languages including Mandarin, French, and English.
Scott et moi nous nous sommes rencontrés il y a 4 ans en Erasmus. Scott est Américain-Australien et je suis Belgo-Chinoise. Nous vivons ensemble depuis plus ou moins 2 ans dans la belle ville de Melbourne! Nous adorons voyager, faire des rencontres et nous ne disons jamais non pour un bon resto.
