The self-catering Khaya Mandevu is an old farmhouse, with a great view of the surrounding mountains in the beautiful valley of Schoemanskloof - an ideal getaway for nature lovers and those keen on activities like birding, hiking and mountain biking. Pets are welcome! Walk our ancient stone circle ruins, book a massage treatment or just enjoy relaxing on the porch and bird-watching.....

The space
Is quirky and cosy with great outdoor living areas to soak in the peaceful valley of Schoemanskloof. The house has a large, fenced garden and accommodates 6 guests in 3 separate bedrooms. An extra guest can be accommodated with a bed in the lounge area, and an 8th guest could be squeezed in if they are willing to sleep on a couch. A cot is also available in the 3rd bedroom. There are 2 bathrooms and an outside shower. A small plunge pool is situated on one side of the house. If babies or toddlers are visiting it can be covered with some heavy wooden frames - please let us know if this is required.

Guest access
The farm is ideal for nature lovers, birders, hikers and mountain bikers. You are welcome to explore the mountains and drink in the beauty of our valley on foot. There are also many old stone ruins which the area has become known for. Khaya Mandevu is accessible via a rough farm road but a high clearance vehicle is not essential if one drives slowly.

Other things to note
Pets are welcome as long as they stay off the furniture and an extra R150 once-off cash cleaning fee is charged for the extra cleaning that furry friends inevitably necessitate. Dogs must be walked on leads outside the garden to protect them as well as our wildlife from being chased.

From the NGO world, I worked as an HR consultant until finally giving that all up to concentrate fully on helping to manage this goldfish and koi farm. I feel incredibly blessed to live in this precious and beautiful valley and get great pleasure sharing our farm with visitors from all over the world who have loved being here.
