We had a good couple of days staying in Grasse for a friend's wedding. The apartment has a great location, right in the centre of Grasse and is charmingly decorated. Air conditioning was also a bonus! As five adults the space didn't quite work for us (bedroom through a bedroom, very creaky floorboards, and no fixed showerhead). It's also very lived in as an apartment. For the price and the location, it's not a bad choice and Grasse is a beautiful part of the world.
We had a lovely time in Sandrine's apartment. It was perfect for us - a family of 5 adults. I'm not sure if it would suit families with younger or older members, as the stairs could be a challenge. The apartment was in a fantastic position, Sandrine was a terrific host - very helpful and pleasant. The apartment was very clean and well appointed. We hope to return!
The location of the apartment in Grasse was fantastic! Right in the heart of the old town. The apartment was lovely and we had everything we needed - including parking which was conveniently located and 38 euros for the whole week. We would recommend this apartment for couples or families without young children due to the stairs - it was as struggle at times with our 14 month old baby. Also Sandrine informed us that the downstairs neighbours would be moving out which was good to hear as we did get yelled at for being too loud just walking around on the floorboards (being 30+ weeks pregnant an occasional night time loo trip is not unheard of!)
Sandrine was a good host, she met us at the entrance to the apartment after arriving there significantly later than planned. We had arrived late from the airport following a 2 hour delay with car hire (they didn’t have the right size baby seat, staff didn’t know how to pop up the rear seats of our people carrier, staff didn’t know how to turn on the GPS, GPS wasn’t up-to-date so we got a little lost with the road works around the airport!).
However, Sandrine was happy to explain and show us around the apartment. She was able to give us the name and location of a couple places we were after.
Sandrine’s apartment is conveniently placed right in the middle of Grasse by a number of museums. It is a 3 double bed apartment. I wouldn't say they are separate rooms as such, one bed is on a mezzanine, there is a master bedroom which is reached by going through another room with a double bed. This wasn't an issue for us as we were sharing the apartment with a couple with children so it worked well. 3 separate couples might not work well in terms of privacy. Just to note the apartment is reached by a long flight of stairs as it is effectively on a 4th floor of a building. It might be a bit of an effort to take up large luggage. The apartment is clean with no odours and homely. Bathroom is clean and functions well with a double vanity unit (Sandrine also provided plenty of towels). The kitchen functions well, there isn't a kettle but we were happy to boil water from a pan. There is also an steam Iron which isn't listed in the amenities. We found not all the light switches worked, but there were plenty of lamps available.
Wifi was available at the apartment but we all found difficulty connecting to it to allow us to use our browses for accessing websites. Not sure what the issue might have been.
We were there for 2 nights and hired a car, the apartment is near to a car park (accessed by the roundabout outside the casino, it is open to 12am daily, but we found out on one evening the warden must have skipped off work early and we couldn't access the car park, it was only 11:30pm), fortunately we were able to park at another car park a few minutes away.
Overall I would recommend Sandrine’s apartment for a stay. It meets my requirements very well, it is clean, in a good location and great value for money.
A very comfortable apartment, with everything you need to feel at home (including air conditioning) and in the most perfect position for a visit to Grasse. Perfect because you are right in the centre, next to the Perfume Museum and, although in the pedestrianised area, there is a car park right opposite so parking is not a problem (a week's ticket was around 48 €).
Never actually met Sandrine butmhad a great time.
We had a really great time in the apartment! It is very well situated in the heart of the city but on the other hand very close to a car parking.
The apartment its beautifully furnished, the beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom was very clean.
Communication with Sandrine was very relaxed and we had no problems with getting to the apartment, even if we arrived with delay.
Thank you for a wonderful time in Grasse,
I can only recommend this apartment.
Great apartment, very quirky unusual location, took some finding lots of fun doing it. Parking right next to in public car park. Wonderful communication all the way through. Clean and tidy with loads of useful things left for our use.
About the Host, Sandrine
