The staff at Djoyo were welcoming and our bedroom was comfortable. The common areas were lovely but without air conditioning, which was a challenge for us. Bathroom had funky smell.
The djoyo guesthouse is a little bit outside of Ubud, so if you like to be in a quiet place away form the buzzy town of Ubud it is a perfect place to stay. The rooms are comfortable with airco and warm water. The swimmingpool is small but nice and you can sit really nice with a view over the fields and see the beautiful mount agun with bright weather (early in the morning) they bring you for free to the citycentre whenever you want and a taxi will cost you 50.000 roepie. We had a great breakfast and the hosts were kind and friendly, so overall it was a great experience.
I want to start with the biggest positive of the Dyojo.
The staff! WAS AMAZING!! Sweet and attentive and always smiling and happy to help. A cold drink handed to you when you arrive - fried bananas delivered as a mid afternoon snack as i sat on the raised wooden platform resting after a long day walking the streets of Ubud.
We were served a wonderful breakfast of fried rice and fruit - with no problem catering to my vegan diet. Free rides on 2 scooters to transport my husband and I into Ubud - about a 10 min drive.
Bed was super comfortable - every thing was very clean - air con worked and was needed at night.
They had set up a driver to pick us up at the airport. Our plane was a bit early and he was not there waiting for us - he'd had a flat tire so we waited for about 30 min. . After 2 days of travel it was a bit of a bummer but not really that big a deal. When we arrived and were shown our room - a windowless room with no private bathroom… it was completely not what I thought i had booked. Luckily another room had just been vacated with a window and patio looking out onto the rice fields. But still no private bath. The sink was in the main room - the dining room that was shared with all guests, but no one else was there when we were there - so it was not really an issue. The bathroom was off a little kitchen where you have access to a fridge and electric kettle. The bathroom nothing special but was very clean and close to our room.
I did yoga in the morning with the double doors open and a view of the rice fields. It was stunning. The pool was refreshing( they have 3 statues that spout water that they turn on when you want to go in the pool)
It was a bit inconvenient being 10 min. drive away from Ubud. (the Dojyo is right on the road - but with gorgeous ride paddies and fields behind it.)
This is a fine place and a real deal for a very cheap price. Just make sure if having windows in your room is important that you ask for that.
Overall a great stay in Ubud. The staff was very welcoming, helpful, and present. They take much pride in keeping the accommodation clean. Breakfast was fantastic and (my favorite!) afternoon tea with fried bananas was served every day. Just as the other reviews say, the bathroom is not the most enjoyable. It had a strong sewage odor (however it was clean!!)
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.
Very clean and comfortable b&b. Well positioned outside Ubud. The staff were very welcoming and easy to get along with, strongly recommend to all, especially young people. Nice little garden at the back to cool off. Very nice breakfast service. Thank you
Very nice and cozy place, with friendly, helpful staff that are there for your every need. Place is very clean, with a nice garden and swimming pool. A bit of a distance from the Ubud city, but staff are always ready to give you a quick lift on the motorbikes, and it's quite cheap to get back on a taxi! Overall we are very satisfied with staying a Djoyo, had very nice, relaxing time at a beautiful place!
Very much echoing previous reviews: a lovely place to stay with an extremely friendly staff. Perfect distance out of town to be a short ride in whilst remaining a safe distance from the bustle of the town centre. Breakfast was great too!
