Era and Darryl so graciously hosted my husband and I for 11 days during the Christmas holiday. They are super easy going - even when I took over their kitchen several times during our week and a half stay to make egg nog and sugar cookies for the holidays. Their hosting style achieves the perfect balance between being sociable at times and giving you personal space at other times.
Their home is lovely and clean with all the modern amenities you need, including a great wifi connection. The room is spacious and gets a good deal of natural light. You are just a short walk away from Nelson's famous Tahunanui Beach.
We visited without a car and walked to Stoke a few times for groceries. But there is also a regular bus that runs to Nelson, Stoke, & Richmond just down the street.
Nelson is a great jumping off point for those looking experience Abel Tasman National Park, wine region on the northern part of the south island and more.
