Summer's cottage was delightful. Warm and welcoming. Summer responded to any email almost immediately, from the beginning, to make sure we had all the information we needed. The cottage was perfectly located within walking distance of Summerland's best restaurants and the nearby (dog friendly) beach. Very homey, comfortable, and private. The views of the ocean were amazing. The garden was filled with flowers and hummingbirds. We loved staying there so much we hardly left for the two days, except for dinner in nearby Santa Barbara. Very much recommend this wonderful cottage retreat.
The cottage was the first stop on our trip and we couldn't have wished for a better start. We instantly felt in love with the beautiful panoramic view from the living room. The house didn't miss anything. It' a really lovely place for a vacation!
The place was fantastic! Very close to a pretty remote beach. We highly recommend a visit to the Channel Islands if you stay here too :-)
This sweet little place on the hill barely 3 blocks from the beach was all we hoped for. Clean with a vintage feel and great views we felt at home immediately. It was perfect distance from Santa Barbara where we had a wedding to attend. I would go back.
The Charming Beach Cottage was actually quite large, well-stocked and in a great Summerland location. Stay was very nice and Summer, although I never met her, was attentive to all my needs.
Topper my dog loved the fenced in backyard.
This place is a gem! The view to the ocean is breathtaking, house is very well equipped and super cozy. Good restaurant just around a corner (summer land beach cafe), access to the beach is 5min walk, back yard has table and benches for outdoor dinner. This is a great place to stay with kids (we stayed here with our three kids (12,12,6)) or with friends. Summer recommended Butterfly beach and we stayed there one afternoon, one of the best waves to boogie board.
Summer was a perfct host. We arrived late and the key handover worked smooth and the light was on so we knew where to go. Also she offered to drop of some groceries since we arrived from a long travel. Extremly hospital and friendly. Everything is clean, very well equipped. We didn't miss anything what we could think of. The only disadvantage for us personally - which we were not aware, but was our fault no doing enough research - was the location. The Highway 101 is pretty close, so it can get noisy. In the night it wasn't a problem, especially since the bed rooms are facing away. Thanks again for a great stay in Santa Barbara!
About the Host, Summer
I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and have lived here in Summerland for over 30 years now. I love this area, the beach, the weather, all the great hikes, and being so close to the city of Santa Barbara, yet living in a small friendly community at the same time.
