The Caboose is located in a calm protect bay which is seven miles by water from the town of Sitka, Alaska. You’ll absolutely love this place because of the true Alaskan outdoor experience had while also having all the "creature comforts" of home. Only accessible by boat or float plane, the Caboose is the perfect get away for the solo adventurist or big groups. Alaskan Brown Bears are frequently seen on the beaches in the area and Humpback Whales can usually be found in the waters close by too!

The space
Anchored and secured to the beach, 26' x 80', float house. Full deck around all sides. One private bedroom and one semi-private bedroom (it has a divider separating it on one side from the bunks) and upper/lower bunks style sleeping area down the hallway that will accommodate up to an additional 4 more people. Private bathroom with propane heated camp shower and compost toilet. Propane stove and BBQ for cooking. Stocked with pots, pans, eating utensils, etc. Gas powered generator for lighting. Wood stove and wood provided for heat. Freshwater for use collected in a rain barrel. Coolers with ice for cold storage. Boats available to rent separately and or chartered sight seeing and fishing trips are available from the owner.

Guest access
You will have the float house all to yourself. No one else will be staying on the float house while you have it rented.

Other things to note
This is a remote float house that requires a boat to access. I have skiffs for rent and or we can make other arrangements for your transportation if needed.
